In most instances, the holiday has been for clothing, and the period has been a week or ten days in August, the idea being to give a “back-to-school” discount as families get ready for the new school year. However, states have gotten more adventurous with the idea in recent years and have enacted or proposed holidays for hurricane survival supplies, gasoline, Energy Star appliances, and guns and ammunition. Analyze the idea of such holidays according to (1) yield, (2) equity, (3) administration and compliance, and (4) economic impact.

Week two of my classroom handbook will be of the topic problem solving skills used during conflict in the classroom. Kaiser and Rasminsky suggest a five step process that will effectively teach children at the early childhood level problem solving skills to last a life time. I will go over each step and then provide an example of what this process might look like in a classroom.
During the observation of Morning Meeting, I noticed that my mentor teacher separated the children by gender when the calendar helper counted the number of boys and the girls in the classroom. My mentor teacher asked the calendar helper to have either the boys or girls stand up first to be counted. When the children are getting ready to go outside or to the bathroom, the teacher has also the boys and girls in separate lines. I felt that there were other characteristics for the teacher to separate the children. For example, she could she could have asked the children stand up or line up based on their eye color, hair color, the color of their clothing, their favorite animal, or even the first letter of their name. If my teacher broadened the
Scenario 6: Tom is a boy in grade one who everyday comes in and puts on a dress from the house center, he then tells everyone that he is a girl and wants to be referred to as a she. The teacher has mentioned this situation to Tom’s parents but they seem to pretend as if they did not hear anything.

Sleep, attention, learning, and memory all go hand-in-hand when trying to improve the ability to learn and remember things. First of all, getting adequate sleep is beneficial in many ways. According to the National Sleep Foundation, adequate sleep for people age 18-25 is 7-9 hours per night. Getting enough sleep allows a person to have more energy to do daily tasks such as going to class and learning. The more sleep you get, the more awake and focused you will be during the day. Focusing your attention is also an important aspect of learning and remembering. Attentional focus basically means focusing on the things relevant to the task at hand and suppressing distractions. If you do not get enough sleep, your attentional focus will be decreased
This lesson was from the Math Investigation books that are provided to the teachers every year. This was the start of a new unit, which was unit five. I was a little nervous to start off the unit considering this would be how the students view the rest of the unit. I had some trouble reading about the lesson when I first saw it. I got a little confused and thought about why the cube train was involved. I ended up looking ahead and seeing how it fit in to other units and it made a lot of sense.
As a future educator, I will definitely use tons of technology in my classroom! Technology is growing so rapidly, and it important to make sure students are comfortable using it. For students to be successful outside of school, they need to know how to use technology and communicate effectively online. It is very important to me that I continue to learn more about educational technology tools, so I can incorporate current technologies in my classroom. Continually learning about new technologies is a great way to engage in personal growth. I have learned so much in this class alone about educational technologies from this class alone, and I know there is still so much out there for me to learn about.
I never knew how essential reading and writing was until this class. Yes, we all hear how good reading is for you and how important it is but, I never really understood why. I have learned a lot during my time in this course. From not only concrete material but about myself as well. The most important things that stick out in my brain though when I’m asked what have I learned is: being confident in my writing, reading and writing is an essential key to life, and that being venerable doesn’t mean weak. Starting with being confident in my writing. Being confident with your writing believe and put your best foot forward when it comes to writing any type of paper or speech. For someone like me who hated writing essay or any type of writing assignment
Conducting classroom observations are very important to the prospective teacher. Observing helps show how experienced teachers manage their classroom. For this observation it was important to notice how the classroom was arranged, how the teacher interacted with the students, the teacher’s management style, and interview the teacher.
The other major form of communication came from a daily sheet for parents. Each classroom had their own unique daily sheet. The rookie room (where I completed my practicum), had a daily sheet that included what the children had eaten and how much, diapering times and nap time. There was also a space for the teachers to write what the children did that day. A little over halfway through my practicum, I worked with another teacher in jump starting the idea of using a Mobile App for the daily sheets. My last week at the practicum, it was finally being introduced to the last classroom! The parents in my classroom, loved the idea the day it was introduced. They loved the idea of getting updates instantly and even added pictures of their children throughout their workday.
Classroom observation is a main approach of teaching research. Though the observation, they analyze what approach is more suitable. This paper will select video 5 and video 3 as the material to do the classroom observation. Different aspects such as teachers’ responds, questions, instructions notes and students’ behavior will be addressed to analyze the efficacy of this class.
Mrs. Ross has her fourth grade students move their desks together into groups of 2 to do a group activity. She instructs them to pair with anyone they choose. Teresa raises her hand, “I don’t want to pair with Megan again because she doesn’t do any of the work. Can I have someone else?” Megan who is soft-spoken just looks down at the floor as the class waits for the teacher’s response. Mrs. Ross asks Teresa and Megan to come with her outside and instructs the class to carry on with the activity.
