Clay Helton and the USC Football team has done a pretty good job going about their business and keeping a low profile in preparation for their game against the defending National Champs, Alabama Crimson Tide. Well apparently whoever is in marketing and merchandise had different plans of their own. A few days ago USC bookstore posted a shirt that went on sale, referencing to the upcoming game against the Alabama and taking shot at the infamous “Roll Tide” chant. Credit to USC because these shirts sold like crazy and are currently sold out at the USC Bookstore. So I have to give it up to them for making a shirt that was very popular among the SC faithful. As far as my take on this, I find this pretty funny. Look USC was bound to do something
Jameis Winston left Sundays game with an injury to his throwing arm. Many have speculated that Winston stayed out of the game due to Coach Koetter benching him; That was simply not the case. Coach Koetter confirmed in yesterdays press conference that Jameis told him that he did not feel like he was able to drive the ball due to the shoulder injury.
Arian Foster is one of the best remaining free agents on the market. For years, Foster has dominated the league as one of the best running backs, but after an injury to his Achilles, the Texans released him. With that said, I still believe in the right situation the 29-year old Foster can still be a significant contributor to an NFL team, specifically one these three teams.

In his article, “In Richmond, students seek to revive ‘Rebel’ mascot” published by The Washington Post, T. Rees Shapiro says that a group of students, graduates and parents started and signed a petition to bring back an old mascot because many students think or have the concept that the mascot will be a catalyst to improve the school’s spirit, the athletic occurrence and others; yet, because the mascot represents ‘rebels’, which shows relations to the confederacy and slavery, it is controversial. However, proponents of the mascot change such as Charlie Bonner says that although the idea of a Confederate soldier appears to bring bad memories to many people and many schools and universities such as the University of Mississippi, got rid of their
Southwestern University: F The recent success of Southwestern University’s football program is causing SWU’s president, Joel Wisner, more problems than he faced during the team’s losing era in the early 1990s. For one thing, increasing game-day attendance is squeezing the town of Stephenville, Texas and the campus. Complaints are arising over parking, seating, concession prices, and even a shortage of programs at some games. Dr. Wisner, once again, turns to his stadium manager, Hank Maddux. This time, he needs a guaranteed revenue stream to help fuel the stadium expansion. One source of income could easily be the high-profit game programs. Selling for $6 each, programs are a tricky business. Under substantial pressure from
Students, parents, and siblings filling up the block with cheers, everyone screaming out their preferred High School team’s name. I went straight to the student section upon arriving, it was quickly filling up, hardly any space to move. The football teams then got on the field and the Palm Desert side went wild, water flying everywhere and students stomping to add noise. La quinta were the first to score, running the ball with very few 9 yards to go, scoring in the first quarter. Although, Palm Desert tried their best to get back in the game shortly after intercepting the ball to make the Palm Desert side get overwhelmed with excitement and have the coach run and hug the player who intercepted. Halftime came with La Quinta leading 7-0, close
On April 2, 2010, Coach Jim Tressel received an email from a former walk on in the OSU program, Christopher Cicero, whom now is a law practitioner that stated that current players in the program are selling signature bearing memorabilia to a tattoo parlor, whom owner’s
The University of Nevada Reno’s Football program officially started fifty years ago in the October of 1966. At the same time the team was established, Mackay stadium was built which seated only 7,500 people at the time. After numerous amounts of renovations, the stadium now seats 26,000 people and the football games are very loud and exciting. Being a football player and student myself, I get to hear what other people outside the football program perceive of us as around campus when we win, lose, or just in general about the football program. Most comments and accusations I have heard have been false and negatively based. What most people do not see is the hardwork and dedication it takes to be apart of the football program and the impact it has on the coaching staff, the community, and also, the inseparable bond it creates between the players.

College Football is one of the most popular sports in America. Every week and weekend during the fall millions of people, from all different parts of the country take time out of their days to catch a game. Whether it be the hundreds of thousands that flock to a stadium to see their favorite team play, or the large amount that watch on television from their home. While there are a ton of different schools across multiple divisions, there’s no team that compares to The Ohio State University’s football team. Ohio State has arguably one of the best football programs of all time.
The fourth reason I would never wear another university’s jersey on campus is because it insults the school. Disrespect to your current university shows that you believe another school is more
Despite a 9-4 record in 2014, the Trojans were the popular pick to win the Pac-12 in 2015. That sentiment took a decisive blow when Stanford (yes the Stanford that got bullied by Northwestern in week 1) upset USC Saturday in the Coliseum. The Trojans were one of two teams, including Alabama, ranked in the top 10 that went down Saturday. A third team, Ohio State, almost suffered one of the biggest upsets in college football history at home.
Aaron Hernandez was a Patriot’s star player at the age of 23 with a 25-million-dollar contract. June 26, 2013, Hernandez was arrested and dropped from the Patriots team for allegedly shooting and killing Daniel Abreu, Safiro Furtado in 2012, and Odin Lloyd in 2013. Hernandez had gotten a drink spilled on him in a club by Abreu and Furtado, and Hernandez followed them, pulled up to their car and shot a loaded revolver towards the victims. Charged with double homicide, investigators found evidence linking this 2012 case to his case about Lloyd. Within less than a year, Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder, his destiny of becoming a football superstar was taken away.
