This film took me on an emotional rollercoaster. From beginning to end the film shook me up and kept me on my toes. I decided not to look up the movie before hand so I wouldn’t expect anything or see things coming. I can honestly say I was invested the entire time. The story was phenomenal and the filming was superb. I thought I was going to dislike this film but its now in my top 20. The film is set in 1939 in a small town in London, during World War Two. They live on the river in a beautiful huge house. The main family is the Miniver family. Which consist of Mr. and Mrs. Kay and Clem Miniver, and there three children Toby, Judy and the oldest Vin as well as a cat Napoleon. They also have hired help Gladys and Ada. The film begins with Mrs.Miniver purchasing a hat and Mr.Miniver purchasing a new car. Neither one want to tell the other about there expensive purchase but as the day progresses they confide in each other. “After all what is money” (Mr.Miniver, movie). Mrs. Miniver also has a rose named after her by Mr.Ballard. Then there son Vin comes home from school and talks about all he’s learned. There neighbor Carol come over and you can tell she and Vin have chemistry right off the bat, Carol and Vin banter. Carol points out that he need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk then Vin storms off like a child.
One thing that threw me off was the fact that at the end of the dancing scene they played the song “My country, `Tis of Thee”. It turns out, that its not
Overall I found the movie to be quite interesting and exciting at times but a bit slow in others. The story itself was very clear to me and didn’t cause any confusion. It had a good flow also, just as you were on the verge of falling into boredom with a scene they switched it up on you to keep you
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, however, I did have some small issues with the film. The movie was entertaining with a fun plot line and quality
The film, Mrs. Miniver, is a 1942 American romantic war drama film based on the 1940 novel of the same name. Mrs. Miniver portrays life in England during the Second World War. The film shows how the life of an unassuming British housewife in rural England is touched by World War II. She sees her eldest son go to war, finds herself confronting a German pilot who has parachuted into her idyllic village while her husband is participating in the Dunkirk evacuation, and loses her daughter-in-law as a causality.
This 2006 Romantic Comedy is worth recommending. The story of this movie is unique, which compelled those watching. The story is easy to follow and keeps the viewer interested in finishing the whole film. If you are a person that likes to be entertained it is a movie for
If I were a film critic I would give this film four and a half stars. It was well made and the actors were excellent. Although I have little to no experience living in a situation such as the one in the movie, I feel as though the lifestyle of these particular characters were portrayed truthfully. It was a culture shock to me, and the fact that it was most likely taken from real life is amazing in my mind. This movie not only made me think about the world as a whole but made me realize how incredibly lucky I am to have grown up in the environment in which I have lived in my entire life.
I really enjoyed this film because it all takes place nearly in one location. The set is elaborate, and you can see from the inside of Jeff’s apartment into the windows of his neighbors. It is filmed in such a way that you feel as though you are looking out of a window, and you become a part of the chaos with the actors. The pace of the film also intrigued me. I enjoyed how it was filmed almost in real time and you become drawn in because everything is timed perfectly. It is suspenseful because you are watching everything happen and it is also possible to notice things in the
Smoke signals is an intriguing movie about two main characters who are facing issues within their dyad and the external world. Victor Joseph is a young man who had a rough time accepting his father’s past behavior and actions. He is portrayed as a someone who is stoic, slow to show emotions, and pessimistic. His mother put his father out, Arnold, out after he would not stop his continuous pattern of drinking. Thomas ,on the other hand, is completely different.
He came in without a word. I was stropping my best razor. And when I recognized him, I started to
The movie had me hooked, there was a lot of suspense, there were some parts when you were stunned to see what just happened. All the killing and violence were good techniques the directors used, it made the movie better and realistic, as I said before.
This film got it right because I am sure that many people can relate to this film. Many us have probably gone
Overall, I enjoyed the film. My biggest issue was the formatting of the film and the medium that it was available. It would have been more enjoyable had the film not been broken up into segments that needed to load. Had the movie been available on DVD or in one longer segment, it would have been easier to watch. The continuous breaks in the action of
It made really made me think if what the characters are doing morally wrong. Both cops handle justice a different way and no one taught Jake that the world is cruel, and twisted. This eventually causes the climactic intense ending, and will keep your eyes glued to the screen. Although I enjoy this movie there is somethings that could be better. For instance the movie has a slow start. I’m not going to lie, I did skip a bit to the ride along, for it was boring. I also would make a scene more believable, but I digress because if it was the movie wouldn't be able to continue. Overall this movie contained major keys to make it interesting.
I enjoyed this film because it has a real story behind it and is something I
Comment: I found this film very tough going- it is undoubtedly a well made film and has some clever and quirky moments. However I lost interest around halfway through the film and could not engage with the film and its clunky style. A lighter touch would have made a huge difference to the viewing experience. Perhaps as an artistic statement it deserves more than three stars but as a movie going experience it was only a little bit better than average.
This movie blew my mind away, actually I found it difficult to sit through the entire movie without taking a break to go outside just to make sure that reality wasn't as bad as the movie made it seem. Aronofsky did a mind-boggling job of exploring the pleasures, and horrors of drug use.
