As we go on throughout history, there are many stories that tend to stick out more than the rest. These stories can be popular for varieties of reasons, however, they all gain the attention of people in today’s time for one reason or another. Many moments throughout history have made such an impact on society that movie makers have decided that the stories need to be told through a motion picture movie. One specific moment in history that caught the attention of the motion picture producers was the life of the queen of Egypt named Cleopatra. The story of Cleopatra was made into a movie in 1999 by Hallmark Entertainment . One accuracy that was shown throughout this movie was the beauty that Cleopatra possessed. Throughout history, Cleopatra is described as a beautiful woman who was considered irresistible . Similarly, Cleopatra is played in the movie by Leonor Varela who is considered to be beautiful through the standards that are set by our society today . Another accuracy that this movie had was the love affair between Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. Despite being married, when Caesar went to Egypt he had an affair with Cleopatra . The two were in love; Caesar was enjoying the life of being in Egyptian royalty, and being in the presence of Cleopatra of course. This is portrayed through the movie as well. In the movie, Caesar falls in love with Cleopatra when he goes to Egypt and ends up having an affair with her . With adding this in the movie, the affair between both Caesar and Cleopatra was able to be seen by the audience. Doing this lets the historically accuracy of the movie as a whole be improved. The death of Cleopatra in the end of the movie is another accuracy that adds to the historical validity of the movie. In the movie, Cleopatra kills herself with an asp . She does this because she heard of how her lover, Antony had died after losing to Octavian in battle. Similarly, in history, Cleopatra is thought to of killed herself because of her lover’s death .
