Ever since I can remember, I have always possessed passion for science and math. Clinical Laboratory Science provides a platform for the construction of a lifelong career, one which will be a solid blueprint for and exciting and fulfilling life. While Clinical Laboratory Science represents a high goal, I am willing to work hard and devote myself to pursuing this goal. As the end of my four years of undergraduate draw near I contemplate what I will do with my future. Despite the end of my time at the University of LaCrosse, I view this major as a beginning of my future. Foremost, my goal is to get accepted into the Clinical Laboratory Science Program. The has been my goal for a while because of my interest in math and science as well as my
My short term career goals are: Graduate with the Associate of Science in nursing from Motlow in May 2018.
Through the medical laboratory science program at Quinnipiac University I believe that I can further hone my skills as a researcher, while demonstrating my devotion and ability to excel in the field of medical science. With a degree from Quinnipiac University I will be able to enhance my credentials and display my readiness for matriculation into medical
My first goal is to graduate and get certified as a medical assistant. To reach this goal I will attend every class, study hard, and pass every class so when I complete my externship I will be confident in my new career.
As the coming years approach, I want my future to hold both the passion to explore new opportunities and the strength to overcome new challenges. With the experiences of my high school career, I aspire to take all the things I learned to transition into a college environment where my ideas can be challenged and shared. Where I can learn from others; where I can seek the opportunity to make a direct impact towards saving lives. I believe I can do great things. Through tenacity I will not only be gratified in becoming a doctor, but also be able to share my compassion for others through
After graduating high school, I was accepted to Alabama State University and decided to study Biology. I figured that this area would help me study living organisms, life processes and understanding the basic life processes that required different medical provisions. I believed that I would eventually find out if I wanted to studying medicine or counsel people. On May 7, 2011, I graduated from Alabama State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Then I volunteered at Jamaica Hospital emergency room alongside the medical providers and interact with the families of those who are medically
The mid range goal I have come up with is to pass with excellent grades in anatomy, biology and other subjects related to my future career. Along with the short term goal, I also have to concoct goals to eventually help me be a Neonatal Surgeon. Step one of my med range goal is to find out what classes the high school teaches for students wanting to go into a medical occupation. Step two is to take the classes that they offer and study hard for tests and make sure to do all assignments accurately with little to no errors so I could pass. Finally, the third step is to take all extra credit opportunities available and use them to my
I have taken my studies seriously and for that I am proud to uphold my Honors standing throughout my High Schools, I look forward to expanding my knowledge in a post-secondary atmosphere. As I am interested in medical school I have taken a small step into the medical world through lifeguarding; and I know I can withstand the constant challenges of Forensic Pathology. Lifeguarding has allowed me to see how I work under pressure and see how accurate I am in recalling important details while under a-- very intimidating-- time limit.
It is important as an APRN to understand the rules and regulations of laboratory processes to better provide accurate testing for patients and because it is federal law. After reading and researching on Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), I can see how it is important for a future nurse practitioner to have this knowledge. There is a process that a clinic is required to understanding to obtain the correct certificate for performing lab testing. There are five different types of certifications: certificate of waiver (CW), Certificate for Provider- performed Microscopy Procedures (PPMP), certificate of registration (COR), certificate of compliance (COC) and certificate of accreditation (COA). I see that the certificate of waiver
Currently, I am in the process of earning my Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a pre-medical emphasis from Grand Canyon University. Upon graduation, I hope to attend either a medical or physician assistant school. My specific goal in the medical field is still up in the air, however, I am avidly exploring the fields of pathology, oncology, emergency medicine, and surgery. My interest in the medical field was sparked by my human anatomy and physiology class during my senior year of high school. Put simply, my life in high school was rough, and I was completely lost, as far as my career decisions were concerned. I enrolled in a human anatomy course, to fill a hole in my schedule during my senior
Throughout the majority of my life, I had dreams of becoming an attorney and did not consider medicine as a profession until much later in my academic career. I had previously pictured myself pursuing a career in intellectual property rights and hoped to become a patent attorney, given my interest in the scientific field. My interest in patent law led me to take science courses that piqued my curiosity. I soon found myself involved in undergraduate laboratory research, focused on discovering new drugs to treat chronic pain syndromes while preventing drug tolerance and limiting the side effects of conventionally used narcotic pain medications. During my last year of college, I was accepted into law school, however I ultimately did not feel that I was truly pursuing my passion and decided to withdraw my acceptance. I then found myself with a college degree and an unclear direction in life, unsure of what new career I wanted to pursue. Shortly after graduating, I discovered a medical scribe vacancy in my hometown's Emergency Department (ED). Working as a scribe in the ED was a profound experience that undoubtedly shaped my career path and inspired me to become a physician and apply to medical school.
During my four years at Brooklyn Technical High School, I was part of the Gateway to Medicine program. I was introduced to courses such as anatomy & physiology, organic chemistry, and biology. These extremely challenging classes piqued my interest to explore a future career in health care. The Gateway to Medicine program was multi-faceted, I went from dissecting cats to learning about spontaneous de-combustion. My guidance counselor also helped prepare me to choose a career in the medical profession.
When I was in seventh grade, I decided I wanted to graduate from Penn State as a forensic scientist. In eleventh grade, my teacher, Mr. Gould, knocked some sense into me and introduced me to medical laboratory science. I participated in a simulation lab tour at Wellspan and I shadowed the core lab for a day. The day I shadowed at Wellspan was the day I decided I wanted to graduate from your program. In hopes of being able to have a career there as well. The standards and behavior of the lab are held so high, I recommend everyone, with confidence, to Wellspan. I know everyone who walks through your doors will get nothing short than exceptional service. I want to be proud of the place I work, and I know for certain that I would be proud to say
Medicine and research changing frequently, which leads to the opportunity to become a lifelong learner in my potential career. I enjoys studying technical processes and information and will never tire of learning new things; for me, academia and facing a field that relies so heavily on research will never fail to evoke curiosity and enthusiasm. To me, the most challenging subjects have always been the most interesting ones, and I strive to conquer and succeed with these subjects. The laboratory industry, with its constantly evolving technology and methods, will always be changing and I am equipped with the desire and skill to excel in such a rapid environment. While taking Introduction to Clinical Laboratory Science class we explored all the vast options for a clinical lab major, and in all of the different applications I see nothing but opportunities. With a Clinical Lab major, there is a world of
I intend to study Medical Laboratory Science at South Dakota State University. My goal is to acquire my bachelor’s degree by completing four years in that program to earn a degree that would allow me to find a high paying career. An additional perk to my career path would be the fact that Medical Laboratory Science positions are highly in demand in South Dakota. I do plan to live and work in South Dakota after I graduate. I wish to gain a lot of experience out of this education, and gain the ability to help save lives by diagnosing and researching in a medical setting. Pursuing a college education would gain me a vast array of different career opportunities if I found that Medical Laboratory Science wasn’t for me, along with greatly increasing
My interest started in elementary school, because of the teachers who enhanced my passion for science. In elementary school, I never thought about turning my passion into an actual career; that didn’t happen until high school. Science always intrigued me, from the never-ending science fair projects to research projects. Georgetown University’s Masters’ program in Biotechnology/ BioScience will continue to enhance my passion for science, but will also enhance my other passion in health related professions. Throughout my life, I loved science and health, but more so, the satisfaction of putting someone’s well being before my own.
