A coach is someone that has to be organized and everything that's happening around the game. I try to find players that are good enough to try to go somewhere in life and I think that would be good for my
Coaching basketball is about strategizing and directing the movements and actions of a basketball team or individual player. Coaches strategize and scout opposing teams and find ways to defeat them as easily as possible. A successful basketball coach needs to now the understanding of how to play the game. A basketball coach must be able to manage the duties of the job by recruiting the top players, get them in shape, make a team, motivate players and teach them how to play the game of basketball. Coaching is usually done by a single person, with the help of one or more assistants. A coach is the face of the team, helping it achieve the public relations goals of the organization and build a positive image that will improve recruiting. (Edmunds). A coach has to know his team and the opponent abilities to be able to match his team up with the opponent. A coach must know to mix the players who can start right away and players he can develop into starters. A coach may want to put 12-15 players on the roster just in case of injuries. To get ready for the season the coach starts putting in offensive and defensive plays the will run and teach the players situational plays to fit the team style and running practices. During a game a coach has
Overall, I would say that my career goal of becoming a high school athletic director has not changed. I very much enjoyed the tasks and environment of working in an athletic department. The only downside that I observed were the long hours due to having to be present both at all home athletic events, and in the athletic office during the school day. Other than that one downside, I think that I would really enjoy being a high school athletic director. This job would allow me to fulfill my desires of changing the lives of young athletes and promoting the importance of education.
Our group wanted to be various kinds of coaches. Two of us want to be football coaches and one of us wants to be a gymnastics coach. However, in the end we decided to go with football since majority won, and then with the college setting.
Over the course of the past several years, the North Iowa Fire basketball program has helped me become a much better basketball player but it has also done so much more. The Fire program provided me with the opportunity to make, what are now, some of my closest friends. Throughout my years in the program, we went through our struggles, but from these struggles I learned the value of hard work and competing at every level. North Iowa Fire helped me fall in love with the game of basketball and I learned so much about myself that I never knew.
Coaches… there are a lot of coaches out there. Good coaches, bad coaches, and great coaches. Me personally likes a coach who is always on top of his belongings and business. If a coach slacks off and doesnt even care about the players or staff or the game he is coaching then he is plain out a terrible coach. I once had this one coach who didn’t care at all. He was terrible in and outside the classroom. He constantly gave out book work and didn’t even teach. On the field he didn’t even coach. He constantly gave us hell and always had something negative to say. He only lasted one year here because he was terrible. Now a very good coach i had… he was always there for the players. He always stayed on top of the game and was always there to pick
Coaches come from many different backgrounds. Some are former players, some are students of the game, and some just want to learn a new skill. Growing up, I have had good coaches, mediocre coaches, and bad coaches. Although our team record, or my personal seasons haven’t always been up to my expectations, each of these coaches have taught me different ways to coach the game. My sport of choice is baseball. I have played for 14 years, and although an arm injury has probably ended my playing days, my love and passion for the sport is still there. When I think of “Why do I want to coach?” I think of three main reasons that attract my interest. These include, I love seeing people reach new heights through hard work, I feel I have a strong yet unorthodox
There is still a dark cloud that the motive behind there is not a significant amount of progress towards minorities as head coaches is that their skills are not sufficient to teams. In order for coaches in the NFL to move up the coaching ranks it is no different from any other pro sport such as the NBA. It is about catching a break at the perfect time and having the right skills to be the person that a team feels is qualified to get the job done. The interview process is quite monotonous no matter the skin color of a candidate that is interviewing for head coaching position in any professional sport. According to Collins (2007), it is considered a “dog and pony show” (p. 897). There is a significant amount of truth that a white assistant
Being a student athlete has many ups and downs. This means that athletes do not only have to worry about school but also the sport they are in. It takes time and patience to be in sports. I am currently in basketball; I also play football and baseball. It is very stressful at times because of all the games and practices. I love playing sports because it allows me to be able to make friendships with my teammates. With being in three sports, it is very hard to find a way to make money. Some ways I can make money are babysitting and helping my grandma in ways. It takes time and effort in order to be great at something. Just like this class and many others, I have to put time and effort in them. Likewise, in sports I have to be working in the gym when others are not. Sports have brought joy to my life. Throughout my whole life I have been around sports. I have always enjoyed playing three sports, they have made me to be who I am today. The sports I currently play are football, basketball, and baseball. These sports have impacted my life because they have taught me how to be able to respond to difficult situations and also create close bonds with friends.
In June, Blair students, Tys, Jacob, Clio, Aya, and I went to Williams College for the Squash And Beyond summer camp. The camp was run by the head squash coach at Williams, Zafi. About forty-four squash players attended this camp, along with three head coaches, one track coach, and three current player coaches. The player coaches consisted of Darius Campbell, former Blair student and currently number three at Bates, Mario Yanez, currently number one at Rochester, and Chris Gordon, current pro, and number forty-five in the world. The head coaches were Mr. Moore, our own Blair coach, Zafi, the current head coach of williams, and Adam.
If you're looking for a way to improve greatly and win many basketball games then Daniel is the coach for you. Daniel is a very hard coach but he is just trying to push everyone to do there best. He does use harsh language and can get a bit too much into the game but, he will help players improve and in the end win the game.
I have loved playing basketball in all settings ever since childhood whether it be with my friends, a pickup game at the community park, one-on-one with my brother or practicing for hours on my own. Over time, I became good and was soon playing in competitive leagues as a starting center. This role required running and operating plays for my team mates; a role that I was very good at. While I have emerged as a natural leader on my basketball team, I decided to apply to these skills to coaching. Over time, I have learnt the importance of building trust and knowing when to lead and when to expect others to lead. As a coach, I have to inspire a group of young boys to work together and play as a cohesive team . My team had to learn to trust that
A “team player” can be viewed as the dictionary defines it, but it can also be used to define things that the dictionary meaning leads us into believing it can not be used on. A team player is not necessarily someone who is on a sports team as most people have come to see it. It can be anyone that works within a group with other people. The dictionary defines a team player as a person who willingly works in cooperation with others (dictionary.com). Team players usually are the type of people that have a great personality and can motivate themselves, while also motivating others. A team player can be anyone; it could be someone in the military, in your family, or even at work.
Being a good team player associates with any career, business or team that you are apart of. To be a good team player you have to have the right personality. You also have to be a hard worker who knows how to work through adversity. The last thing you need to be a good team player is to be willing to contribute to the team.
I think the rules about how the coaches treat the players should be stricter because some of the coaches are really hateful , rude ,and treat players different from others and make that kid feel like he isn’t as good as the other players. A lot of coaches are very mean to the players telling them that they suck or aren’t as good as the other players and that’s not right to the other kids because it brings them down.
