Every human has a special character trait and that’s what makes us great, but I wish that everybody could be as passionate for a good cause like these characters. There’s been too many corrupt human beings doing whatever they want, whenever they want and they won’t be stopping anytime soon. About every week, there’s news of government corruption, police corruption, etc., all over the world. It’s twisted and warped! That’s why I’m glad that children like Cole, Smush, and Snapper knew it was wrong and did something that could bring change, even though it was a bit irresponsible and risky. Don’t get me wrong, the adults were fully aware too, but I’m thinking they were too frightened which is actually understandable. Who wouldn’t feel threatened
Cole Matthews is the main character of Spirit Bear. He is a 15 year old boy, I know he is because he was held back in school for one year and he is a freshman. Cole gets into a lot of trouble, so much that he has been in trouble with the law nonstop since he was just 9 years old. I read this on page 5 it says “been in trouble with the law half his life”. In his past he had a lot of trouble with his parents, his father beats him when he gets drunk, and his mom ignores whats happening. It says on page 47 & 48 that “Cole's father jumped to his feet. “I don't beat you, and you know that.” his face flushed red.”I’ve given you swats when you deserved them.” also on page 28 it says “”he drink’s until he turns into a monster. Mom just gets drunk and pretends nothing had happened. It's like a bad dream I can't wake up from ”.
It takes time to learn a new thing especially for Cole Matthews. Cole grew up with a roof over his head but not the parenting that he should of had. Both of Cole’s parents are drinkers, and when Cole dad is drunk he beats Cole for no reason. As Cole grew up he learned of that and thought it was ok. So he started doing it and beating up kids and breaking the law. Cole beat up a kid named Peter so bad that Peter is now suicidal and he has a stutter. Instead of Cole going to jail, he went to a circle of justice and the circle of justice decided that Cole needs to be banished to a island for a year. Well Cole is on the island he changes his physical thoughts, Taking other people's ideas, and looking out for others instead of just himself.
First of all, they were just minding their own business. If you have seen or heard of the story The Three Little Pigs, you will know what I mean. The pigs were kicked out of their home by their own mother when they were about two years old! Well I know who is getting the mother of the year award, not her! The pigs never meant harm they were just trying to make a home for themselves
“A fart on Thomas Putnam, that is what I say to that!” Giles Corey said this in The Crucible because Thomas Putnam is crying witchcraft on innocent people in Salem. Giles Corey is a very ornery man which this quote can show. Not only is Giles Corey ornery, he has other unique traits to him that may be surprising, which also relates to me as well. Giles Corey and I both are similar to each other because of our responsible, sarcastic, and loyal traits.
“More weight!” This quote was said by Giles Corey, a character from The Crucible, while he was in the process of being pressed to death for not saying aye or nay to the accusations of witchcraft. Giles Corey was an 83 year old farmer, he was married 3 times and has sons. His wife was accused of witchcraft for cursing pigs. Giles tried to convince the court that his wife was innocent but because of his orneriness and stubbornness he ended being pressed to death.Giles Corey and I display similar personality traits in that we are trustworthy, hardworking, and very ornery.
Cole Matthews is a boy is very dangerous and his behavior and his characteristics get him into a lot of trouble. For example when Peter Driscoll told on Cole for robbing a convenience store and Cole got into a lot of trouble. But Cole being Cole he slammed peters head into the pavement causing permanent speaking impediment. “With anger that had been brewing up all day, he attacked him and started to hit him hard in the face with bare fists Peter was not match”. “Nobody crossed Cole Matthews and got away with it”. So Cole Matthews is not only very angry but very rebellious towards authorities. We have two examples of this the first one was when they were going to the Alaskan island for his banishment and Edwin was there. But Cole hated
This didn’t quell them at all, they kept thinking of new ways to make a difference. They ended up making a covert window exit so that they could go out at night and still sabotage. The kids would then come back before morning. Knud and his friends’ cleverness helped them have an impact on this issue. Even after getting out of jail many years later, the valiant kids still never gave up and kept doing their attacks, even after knowing what the final outcome could be if they were ever caught again.
Cole has failed himself in a numerous amount of ways. The reasons why he failed himself is because he beat Peter Driscal almost to death, burned the shelter and all of his supplies, got mauled by a bear, and and nearly died of starvation. After a storm had occurred, he had a change of heart and became a little more and more compassionate.
2002 - Morally ambiguous characters -- characters whose behavior discourages readers from identifying them as purely evil or purely good -- are at the heart of many works of literature. Choose a novel or play in which a morally ambiguous character plays a pivotal role. Then write an essay in which you explain how the character can be viewed as morally ambiguous and why his or her moral ambiguity is significant to the work as a whole. Avoid mere plot summary.
Being pretty is a strange thing; some love you, and others will despise you. Being ugly is an even stranger thing; most days you probably go unnoticed. Many people may like the privacy of being ugly and do not mind being ugly. Tally Youngblood, from the novel Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, is definitely not okay with being ugly. She will do anything to be pretty, even betray her friends. “‘But I can’t help them,’ Tally said. ‘I promised Shay I wouldn't tell her plans’” (Westerfeld 113). Once she finds out the truth, will she change her mind or regret her decisions?
A small group leader is supposed to be both a friend and a leader in one’s journey in faith. The fact that Stacy Capps is a friend to the girls she mentors every week says a lot about her as a person. She connects with the girls in her small group both emotionally and spiritually. She is a mentor that provides wisdom and intelligent advice based on her own mentally and physically harrowing life experiences. She tells us all of her personal journey so that we won’t make the same mistakes, not because she wants to be our BFF.
The base story idea from the game pitch places Sal and Snap as the heroes facing against an evil wizard rhinoceros called Rhinozardzard, who has stolen Gems of Power that Sal and Snap must get back by collecting them in a variety of worlds. This leaves a lot of openness to the storyline for the game, especially concerning why Rhinozardzard stole the gems and why Sal and Snap are the ones to get them back.
Cole Mackensie is a Reaper, and when he’s told he has a new Reaper to train, a life he reaped, he refuses. But his new trainee, Jessica, may be more stubborn than he is.
Have you often noticed that you are extremely different from your parents, grandparents, or even children and their friends? Throughout generations, what young adults are like changes rapidly. Things such as values, limitations, interests, and many more things are ever changing. The young adults in The Hardy Boys: The Tower Treasure, by Franklin W. Dixon are drastically different than those of the current generation. Some of these differences include; those of the current generation tend to be more selfish, greedy, have stricter parents, less avid about their parents, more negative, and give up more easily.
Everyone has been a kid once in their life and most of the time when you’re young you’re clueless. Some of the children may not have realized what they were doing. For some kids that's all they may have known. Kids could've been forced or kidnapped when they were young. They might not have even known that it was bad maybe that was just their way of living. They should get another chance but this time they will be taught
