Since I was little I knew that helping people in need was something that passionates me, this is why I want to go to college and becoming a nurse so badly. But as a low-income family I couldn’t even imagine afford to pay college, that dream seen impossible to reach. As the time passed on, society has been changing throughout the time and now low-income students have financial help to pay for college.
Now that I am in the last phase of high school I am looking forward for that dream to become a reality. To be able to assist college I planning to apply for financial aid such as, scholarships and grants so I could pay for it. I want college to be the amazing experience, this is why I will be enrolled full time and get involved in different clubs

While supporting this organization I can also make connections with other non-profit organizations and support them. After I graduate with my masters I will start working at a hospital, then I will keep working even harder to open a non-profit community clinic. Help people in need passionates me, the fact that I will be able to do something that will change or improve their daily lives is a feeling I cannot explain. Not everyone can afford a good healthcare insurance, as of today I can’t even afford one. For this reason, I will open this community clinic with the goal of providing help with health care or related issues. I will assist to conferences or tutorials to get inform of how to run an organization, I will partner with other organizations if needed, but I am sure that as well as I will finish high school and college I will be able to open this clinic. My goal is to expand this non-profit organization to other states of the United States, to gather a big group of people with the same dream and work together to expand this dream. Also, since I graduated with a masters, I will find organizations that travel to poor countries offering healthcare help and
As a little girl growing up, I watched my mother as she cared for nuclear and extended family members, people in the community and at church; it seemed like she was always taking care of people with a smile and a look of contentment. In the more than 30 years that she worked as a pediatric nurse, I looked forward to the one time in the year she was allowed to take me to work. Without realizing it, my admiration for my mother developed into a desire to help people and this influenced my dream to become a nurse. The final factor that defined my aspiration was the 14-year Liberian civil war; during this time I saw firsthand how much suffering people were going through with shortage in hospitals, doctors and nurses. A lot of people died because of poor health care and lack of qualified health care professionals.

The College Transfer Sucess book and ACA 122 had me doing some extensive soul searching and decision making on what I want to do with my life and how I am going to timely and efficiently execute it. I have made some important decisions and learned some very useful tips that I have or plan on using in my everyday life.
What I see in going down the path of a college life is not more years spent in school after high school, but what I see instead is a great potential. Colleges in both the state and all around the nation host varieties of different majors in various fields of interest. Each of these hundreds of majors has its story path, and with that, can change the course of someone’s entire life, influencing their choices for years to come. The career they decide to go in can be so groundbreaking, which it even has an impact on the very aspects of the person’s personality.
People frequently say that everything from GPA to extracurricular activities counts starting in high school. Thus, many students tend to start planning for their future in their first year in high school. One of the major concerns of most high school students getting ready for college is a financial issue. Doing well on national exams such as the ACT can solve this problem with possible scholarships offered at colleges. Understanding the purpose and description of the ACT as well as the information about the tuition fee and the Pre-Pharmacy program at Oregon State University is important for me to get a head start on my future education.
We are all making choices and decisions in everyday life however, good ones lead us on the right path while bad ones bring us to nowhere. However, my whole life the hardest decision I have ever made is getting into college. In my country, our education system is a bit different from other countries. First, we are mandatory to choose our major before getting into college. Second, we have two means to admit to a college. We take the first test which is named “qiyas“, and apply to schools in which we want to get into.
I believe that club sports are taking over and they will only become more prevalent in the future. The two biggest reasons for this shift are college recruiting and the cost of school sponsored sports for high schools.
There are several requirements for getting admitted into medical school. All schools require one year of biology, physics, English, and two years of chemistry (with organic) (“Admission Requirements”). The MCAT Exam is a very important piece to your application to medical school, but they do not solely look at your MCAT score to determine whether you get admitted or not. Most admission officers will use it to see whether you, as a student, would succeed in medical school (“Preparing for the MCAT Exam”). According to the U.S. News, besides your MCAT scores and GPA in college, diversity is one of the biggest factors admissions workers take into account while reviewing applications ("Understand the Factors Behind Medical School Admissions”). As students begin their senior year of high school they are constantly bombarded with questions about their plans for their next years in the real world. We seniors often find this decision challenging as we compare the different costs and programs each college or university can offer us. Not only do we have to choose from the thousands of universities across the country, but as well as the different campuses each college may provide. Before my senior year I had little knowledge when it came to colleges. However, through my own research to find out what college may be the best fit for me I have come a long way and have been able to narrow my search down. I have learned that for many big name schools it is common for them to have a main campus
How do I feel about applying to college? Applying to college is very stressful. It is that time of the year new students will go to college. You can’t imagine how much of a short time you have to fill out applications, even though we had many months to fill them out you will just feel like you can’t get done with it. You feel insecure and at the same time secure about it. You want to go to a college far away from home but once you’ve thought about it you don’t want to leave home anymore. Applying to college is a blessing but also not. It is a blessing because it's a path to a great and secure future, it is not because you will be filled with debts and you’ll have to move away from your family if you study abroad or in another state. I've always
Furthermore, If colleges create less strict admission requirements for students, it will greatly benefit those who want to apply. Many young adults have aspirations to get into the college of their dreams. Many would like to get into great schools such as University of Georgia, Howard University, and Harvard University. However, strict admission requirements are preventing them from reaching those dreams. A report finalized by the Admission team at Howard University found that their acceptance was the lowest as compared to the other colleges in 2009. (Bruni 21). This meant that out of all the applications they receive, only about 30% of those students are accepted. Many of those students that were denied were not given a second chance to reapply
The dramatic arts have enthralled me from an early age; I have always been in awe of the deceptive ability that professional actors are able to display on the big screen. This fascination inspired me to dream of becoming an actor for much of my early life. I began trying out for television advertisements at the age of four until I turned seven. Eventually, after a string of unsuccessful auditions, my parents told me to accept the fact that I had as much of a chance of becoming a successful actor as I had of becoming a professional basketball player (my mom is 5’4’’ and my dad is 5’8’’.) Regardless, I continued to pursue my dream of acting throughout middle school, auditioning for an inordinate number of school plays and operas. Confronted with
Although your high school experience is coming to an end, it is imperative that you continue to perform well in school. Honestly, your performance in high school will determine your readiness for college. On the contrary, it is evident that high school instructors tend to hinder students by making it easy for them to receive decent grades. Thus, it is important that students learn how to challenge themselves because the college life requires a large amount of studying and preparation. The students who do not have great studying habits may find it difficult to succeed in college. However, students who truly prepare themselves for the college lifestyle will quickly adjust to their new environments.
As high school juniors, most of my peers and I have one common goal ahead of us. After taking countless standardized tests, getting our permits, passing drivers ed, junior prom, senior year, graduation and our last summers at home, our, now, common goal is College! Most of us have the grades and passion to get us where we want to go, but is it enough? Will our romantic thoughts about ourselves get us through the hardships of transition, or will we be held back by negative thoughts clouding our visions about the doubts that we ourselves, have in ourselves? Will we think about how things will actually be, or think of them how they could be?
I was born and raised in Nepal, where poverty is visible. Throughout my life, I have seen all different types of people in poverty, may it be infants, children, seniors, and even disabled people. Every day I would see people on the streets begging others for money so that they could treat their sick relatives. Whenever I saw them, I felt so frail. I wanted to comfort them, yet I did not know how since I was little. After I had moved here in the United States, then I started realizing that health care is precisely the right path for me. Moving here made me understand how other countries like Nepal are in great need of health services. Seeing the poverty and insufficient of good healthcare gave me more than the aspiration to become a nurse, it gave me the affection and dedication to achieve that career. I suppose that passion and commitment are important aspects of becoming a nurse.
