What am I passionate about? I am passionate about being true to myself and not letting external forces influence who I am, what I like, and my potential. My choices in extra-curricular activities and sports are not typical compared to most students at my high school, especially the girls. I have learned to not allow others’ expectations discourage me from the passions I want to pursue.
I have learned to be passionate about the effort I put into school. It was a gradual process over the last 3 years, but I began to push myself more and accepted responsibility for fully comprehending topics, not just memorizing enough material to pass. Learning to speak up when there is something I do not understand, so problems do not snowball, has been the biggest change. There is not time to stall and homework will not magically go away. I have moved from mostly Bs as a freshman to almost all As this past semester. The As allowed me to be exempt from exams in five out of eight classes - geometry, humanities, earth and space, religion and forensics.

I am unsure about which career path to choose, for I have passions in diverse areas. I find the law and technology/programming of great interest. I see myself in one of those careers, or possibly combining the two, in a career focused on keeping laws up to speed with the dynamic world of technology. Topics in the news currently, besides privacy and security, include drones, digital currency and high speed trading on stock markets. I have not decided which college to attend. I am open to opportunities, even if it means being away from
I’m awesome. It’s true. Everyone who meets me will agree, and by the end of this essay, you will too. I am from the small town of Mexico, Missouri where I haved lived my whole life. I was born on January 4, 2000. I am the millennium baby because I was the first baby born in 2000 in the the town of Mexico and I got to ride home in a limo. I went to elementary school at Hawthorne and then to the Middle School and now I am a Junior at The Mexico High School. I play basketball, football, and baseball. This summer I worked at the City Pool as a lifeguard. Last summer I worked at Pearl Motor Company for my dad. That job was definitely a lot harder than being a lifeguard, but I enjoyed both jobs. One of my favorite hobbies is hunting. I love to Turkey hunt and also deer hunt. I’ve killed three turkeys and one deer. One of my other hobbies is snow skiing. I usually get to go to Colorado every year with my church and I've been three times with my family. This is just a little bit of who I am.
Regardless of the fact that I was a dare devil as a child, I have learned to take chances, be my own person and to take on as many adventures as possible. As a child I would always be doing something, whether I would be talking to new people or going to find a rock to jump off of. It wasn’t always a good quality to have because I would take my adventures too far and put myself in a situation where I could come to be hurt. Nevertheless, I am still alive functioning and it made me the person I am today.
Someone that I am is a kind, caring, and loving person who loves to help others. I have not yet attempted to make a positive change in the world but I do have a couple of ideas that i think will work and are very positive towards the world. I was always curious since I was a little girl what the entire world was like and how others were not in the best situations. Now that I am older I do realize that the world world is very harsh and it’s not always going to be the best place to be at certain times, I realized that when put myself in a bad position with not so good people. I’ve always told myself when I was younger that, they deserve that type of punishment when I would see people on the streets. Now I see that it always is not there fault they obviously up somewhere in life and mistakes always happen. One way I would like to help those people on the streets is build about the size of a large dog house and so they could call it home until they get back on there feet.
“We know what we are, but not what we may be” (William Shakespeare). Life is full of unexpected surprises you never know what life will bring or take away from you, so cherish every moment you have. You got to have limits, goals and aspirations to go somewhere in life. There will be obstacles and struggles that you will have to go through but those moments are what make you who you are. In my life I’ve learned, heard and seen several things that have made me who I am today. For those reasons I have set myself limits, goals and aspirations that I wish to accomplish throughout my life. In one word, I would describe myself to be ambitious! I always set some kind of goals towards myself.
I dreamt of walking on Commonwealth Ave. I envisioned myself entering the Morse Auditorium, books in hand, eager to learn. Ever since I had visited the eclectic city of Boston in 2006, I knew it was the right fit for me. I knew that the city itself, along with the remarkable academic resources that Boston University offers would allow me to grow socially and mentally. Until this day I ask questions on end from my comrades at the BU, impatient to learn more and more about their lives on and off campus. From all the feedback I have received I have come to one conclusion: BU is the place where I will get a rich, broad background in all my studies. BU will give me the foundation and preparation I will need to enter any field of study.
Beautiful young people are the whimsey of nature.Real beauty comes from learning ,growing ,and loving in the ways of life . That is the art of life. These programs leave a passion in me for the pure knowable world and these programs inflame me with a curiosity .Most people complain of fortune ,few of nature ; and the kinder they think the latter has been to them, the more they murmur at what they call the injustice of the former .The truth is ,that nature ,seldom profuse, has distributed her gifts more equally than she is generally supposed to have done.Education and situation make the great difference .Culture improves, and occasions elicit .I believe that enthusiasm will take me further than any amount of experience .Enthusiastic people can
The pursuit of attending college has been a personal desire and goal for as long as I can remember. While maintaining a rigorous academic course load, I also had a passion for excelling in my music endeavors. My superior GPA and yearly testing scores broadened my career choices but made it difficult to discern whether I wanted to pursue something in the field of medicine, education, or music. The academics, experiences, and activities that I have been involved with throughout my life, definitely have shaped and encouraged me to think deeper about what it is that I would truly love to excel in on the college level and pursue as a life-long career.
When it comes to my deepest thoughts, I always worry if I can either do it or if I’m even good enough. I have always struggled in school and had those teachers that told me that I couldn’t do it or I was succeed, but that just made me push harder and that is what motivates me. Along with that I had have students brought me down and that is what ticked me off, I had either people who thought they knew me or people who didn't even know me say horrible things.
Education is something that is often taken for granted. The pursuit of learning is not always met with energy and excitement and I have understood the challenges that school can bring. The challenging parts of school, however, are necessary to personal growth. Throughout my years of schooling through middle school and through high school I noticed how I would sometimes have to push myself harder than other people to be on the same level as others, and would often become frustrated in my efforts. As I have graduated and aspire to become a doctor, I have realized how important frustration and struggle is to education.
I spent almost my high school life under the shadows of fear. I was continuously bullied throughout with little hope ahead. I was at the breaking point of my life, but my passion for biology saved my life. I hated myself deeply until then. I hoped the world around me to be dead along with my rotten flesh. I never forgotten the beauty of nature. I saw science as a new journey like a fresh start. I am not an elite who can understand how this society of complex systems, but I was able to get a glimpse of how the nature of biological living interacted with myself. I loved it. I will continue to day dream in my conscious thought with science. I need help to reach my goals and stay motivated along the way. Thank
“No, you cannot marry someone from India!”, that is what my grandparents told my father, a Pakistani, when he told them that my mother was with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life if he wanted to be happy. My father has always been my fund of determination, courage, and commitment. It was because of these strengths in his character that he was able to convince his parents to bring my mother to Pakistan and marry her. This is one of the many junctures for which I look up to my father as a beacon of light for me in the darkest of times. Born into a family of engineers everyone anticipated that I will walk down the same road, but gradually it dawned on me that medicine was my true calling. I knew that if I was to be happy, I had to pursue my passion, which was medicine. The pursuit of medicine is a long journey replete with trials and tribulations which were eased only due to the unwavering support of my father. Years of hard work can only be condensed into one moment when I found out that I was accepted into Dow Medical College, Karachi, the most prestigious state funded medical school.
Have you ever thought about how infinitely large the world truly is? This is something I think of quite a bit, because it is so mind-boggling to think that there is so much more out in the universe that we may never know about. But, on the other hand, have you ever thought of how infinitely small the world is? Everything we see, touch, or smell, as well as everything we eat, and each and every piece wood and brick that builds our homes, are composed of some elaborate combination of molecules. It is easy to imagine how big the world is, but what captivates me is the study of everything small that makes up life, biology. I remember last year in my junior year of high school, my biology class did a really interesting lab. We were allowed to go roam the hallways and find a spot that we believed would have the most bacteria
Passion is described as a strong emotional attachment or feeling. I would describe my strongest passion as my love for learning. When one thinks of learning, the first thing to come to mind is school and academic knowledge; however, when I refer to learning I am referring to learning about everything ranging from school, to athletics, to arts, and even just learning about life. It is my fervor for learning that allows for the strongest demonstrations of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. A passion for learning has allowed me to exemplify a majority of these great qualities in a single, simple setting. As a person who is eager to learn about anything he can grasp, when the opportunity came for me to tutor students who were Syrian
This essay explores who I am as a student. As a person, I am very well-rounded, enjoying a variety of subjects, sports and activities. A number of my favorite activities pertain to the Science, Math and Computer Science House’s focuses on rigorous mathematics, science, and computer science curricula focused on problem solving skills and research. Through studies in Science, Engineering, Honors Geometry and Computer Applications along with volunteering, I have learned a vast amount about mathematics, science, and computer science, seeing firsthand how to research and problem solve in the most effective methods.
Some things that have changed for me to be successful is that I have picked better professors. So it would be easier for me to understand. I have also started putting in more time toward my classes that I have been having trouble with. Taking time outside class has helped me understand concepts better.
