These days, bicycles are becoming an increasingly popular form of transportation on many United States college campuses. College students across the nation seem to have found considerable value in using bikes to get from point A to point B on campus. However, once their bike has a flat tire or loose handlebars, it becomes inconvenient to ride anymore without properly fixing their bike. The issue is that if something happens on campus and they do not have the ability to fix their bike, it requires them to go out to a bike shop or such to buy the necessary tools. College students do not bring repair tools with them from home because that is not something you think about packing when moving into a new room with limited space. There are students who do not have the extra cash to spare on buying repair tools and some students do not have any other form of transportation besides their bike. I believe that if Kansas State University allowed bike repair stations to be placed near the Student Union, Hale Library, and Derby Residence Halls area, it can help encourage more students to ride their bikes on campus. Without them fearing of what to do if their bike breaks down and reduce the number of forgotten bicycles on bike racks throughout campus.
Problem Description
Kansas State University has two bike repair stations, a broken bike repair station located in the Derby Residence Hall courtyard while the other is near the Student Union Plaza, that need to be brought attention to. Each
The State of Colorado provides more opportunities that offenders have access to than most other states. Upon entrance to the Colorado Department of Corrections, inmates are given a standardized test to determine their math and reading levels. If the offender does not have a high school diploma or GED they should be enrolled in Adult Basic Education classes so they can obtain their GED while incarcerated. While incarcerated, inmates have access to technical education such as HVAC training. This would usually just be a precursor to the offender being released and going and starting the program all over again at a technical or community college. The Community College System has an agreement with CDOC that allows the inmates to transfer their pre-approved credits to Pueblo Community College, which consequently can be transferred to any community college.
For a lot of us, we’ve lost sight of this innate need to explore the unexplored. As work, school, family, social life and everything else that drives our days continues to pull us in every direction, it’s hard to remember the last time we were able to experience something so pure. For Jimmy, he’s managed to marry these stresses into his pride and joy, the Boise Bicycle Project. As Boise’s community-oriented, non-profit promoting the personal, social and environmental benefits of bicycling, BBP functions as “a bicycle recycling center as well as an educational workspace in a diverse and non-threatening atmosphere. Through education and access to affordable refurbished bicycles BBP strives to build a stronger bicycling community.”

There have been arguments when discussing the price of attending college. The main argument that we have is whether college tuition is too expensive or not. Over the last few decades the college tuition rates have increased drastically, but is a rate increase necessarily a good or bad thing. I personally believe that the cost to attend college is too expensive especially for low and middle-income families. There are many reasons why tuition could be considered too expensive they include, rise of tuition, little financial aid, and lack of college savings to name a few. The first reason why college tuition is considered too expensive is the continuing rise of tuition itself. Between the years 1973 to 2008 tuition for a four-year increased
West Chester University’s ongoing attempts to meet the needs of the student body’s various demographics are commendable, but some areas and services should be granted priority due to their more numerous natures’ and relatively minimal cost. Some of the ones being readily addressed are the constraints of and accessibility to various academic buildings on West Chester’s campus. These include but are not limited to:
For an Iowa resident, the cost to go to community college is one hundred and forty-five dollars per credit hour. For an undergraduate, each credit hour is worth three hundred and thirty-six dollars, but a graduate credit hour fee is worth five hundred and thirty dollars. Students can save a lot of money by going to a community college rather than a university or private college. Have you seen the news lately? Anything that involves college, especially community college? President Barack Obama is working on this proposal on having the first two years of community college free. That’s right, free! This plan is called the America’s College Promise. This would save students even more money by going to
Out-of-state public colleges are more expensive than in-state public colleges. For that reason, many students stay in state for their education. Let's say you can go out of state to a public college on an in state tab. Sounds like a dream, but is it reality?
Some of them are unavoidable, such as car insurance, gas, and maintenance. Others are more unpredictable: car repair, accidents, tickets, and fines can be a major problem for a student. “At Wayne State University, 98 percent of its students brought cars to campus in 2013-2014,” according U.S. News data in the article Universities Where the Most Students Brought Cars to Campus. Driving cars can be very convenient, but also can bring a lot of complications for reckless students. For instance, most students are immature and they like to show off their racing skills, but at the same time, it can be very complicated if an accident happens. Hurting or killing someone is not something that can be dealt with easily, and also it can compromise economic situation of the people who caused the accident. It is impossible to predict those problems, but it is possible to avoid them by purchasing a bicycle. Using a bicycle to go close to places where one does not necessarily need a car, can be a good cardio workout. Students do not need to worry about parking spots, wastage of gas, and
Community colleges have turned into a staple of numerous areas offering quality college-level courses for individuals not able to go to a traditional four-year institution. Then again, numerous students view community colleges in a negative light. Some trust it's an inviting zone for the average and "not sufficient."
Transportation on Pennsylvania State campus, via bicycle, has always been an option for students and faculty since 1855. However, the university 150 years ago was different considering the size of the campus and student body. In 1863, and later years, the classes totalled a measly 64 undergraduates, while in 2016 more than 40,000 students make up each undergraduate level. Every year this number increases making university park a more crowded area in every regard from housing to congestion of sidewalks. Regulations provided to students available online outline the basic conditions for riding a bike on campus and highlight provisions made by the university. However, as a student who has been on campus for a summer and two thirds of a fall semester, I feel the rules are not only impossible to follow, but fail to ensure safety to students and faculty. There must be action to improve the current state of transportational means on campus for students and one of the best and simple means in doing so is through the revision of roadways on campus.
Mark Twain once said, “Don’t let … schooling interfere with [your] education”. College is what most people envision as a definite thing for their future. What a lot of people don’t realize is college is schooling, and isn’t always continuation of education. There is no doubt about it that college is in the future, because anything less than that would be looked at as less than what is expected for them. Most people do not realize how many opportunities there are besides going to a four year college. Alternatives to a four-year college for a bachelor of science or arts can still be successful in allowing one to provide for their self and their family, because there are many alternatives, there is higher chance of not having debt, gaining experience straight out of high school, and by specific companies hiring someone for their skill.
Firstly, I especially preferred community college in Washington State because some of them provide High School Completion program, obtaining United State high school diploma. One of the advantages of this program is that I could take high school classes paralleled with college courses. Since my parents were unable to cover the expensive tuition for four years of university, low tuition and fee cost was eye-catching that I decided to search for community college. Having met Alvin Tai, the school representatives, when he came to Vietnam promoting Green River Community College, I have my concern about the admission requirement, difficulties of transferring process and housing answered explicitly. Lastly, offering smaller size class so that it
As a homeschooler goes to college, he or she is about to be changed forever. Many homeschool graduates go to college every year, but most students endure hardships and struggles once they reach college. A homeschooler will face many things, both good and bad, during his or her time in college but the overall experience will be determined by the choices they make.
A bicycle or foot path throughout the campus and the perimeter would be a fresh air alternative for staff and members.
