I come from a family who has never gone far in their education. I have been determined to change that. One of the biggest goals I've had in my life was to be the first person in my family to attend college, and that’s exactly what I am doing. I plan to obtain a bachelor's degree in theatre arts with a performance emphasis. I first walked across a theatre stage at the age of eleven, and I fell in love. After my first performance in sixth grade, I continued to say I was going to become a theatre major. Now, that dream is becoming a reality. I have selected my major because I will be able to do what I love (acting) and I will be able to work in the environment I have been dreaming about for years. After receiving my degree, I plan to attend graduate school to take obtain my master’s degree. I believe because I am the first person to go to college in my family I should go the whole 9 yards. I would like to receive two majors and a minor, even though I am not sure what the additional ones will be. Although those are my educational goals, I have some even bigger life goals.
The biggest life goal I have is to be happy. I want to be able to work in the theatre, either as a performer, which is my number one goal, or anywhere else within the theater. The theatre has always been a place that I can be myself and somewhere that has made me completely happy. Eventually, I plan to start a family after I have a steady job and stable living situation. The goals I have are simple, but they
Ever since I was young, I was exposed to a Historically Black College or University, Jackson State University. I had always went to activities and functions such as football games, summer programs, and other special events. I did not know whether I would attend a historically Black College or University (HBCU) or not at the time. I had finally decided to go to a HBCU, and I would attend Tougaloo College in the fall to further my education. I have many goals and objectives for pursing my educational experience at a historically Black College, and I plan to achieve them.
Enrolled at Miami Dade College is the starting point to complete my long life desire and goal of earning a Master degree in management engineering, and business administration. From the time I was a young kid through the time of high school, I had always have passion for more knowledge, and engineering. But in my senior year in high school to the time of summer, I have led to the discovery of another passion, and great ambition toward it (Business). However, to reach those goals, I will need the power of education, which provide more knowledge, and wisdom to whoever seek. By pursuing a college degree, I have a higher change of successes in both degree, in life also. But this question also deal with emotional feeling, pursuing a college degree
College is expensive. No one can pay for it by themselves unless they’re a millionaire. What about the people who actually need help? I am one of those people. If given a scholarship, how will it benefit my education? If I was given a scholarship, it will benefit me in reaching my educational goal by motivating and pushing me to do better to make the organization proud and it will grant me the ability to get everything I need because it will not have any limitations to what I can do with it.
To begin, I would like to express my passion for pursuing a college career. Since I was very young, one of my top goals has always been to have a job that I enjoyed going to everyday. Furthermore, when I started high school I knew I had to commence working towards that goal. Consequently, I had no idea of what kind of job or career I would enjoy, this in turn made me slack off, and not care much about my first two years of high school. Eventually, I took an automotive class at the technical careers high school, and as a result, I knew I wanted to work with cars everyday. Moreover, I took an opportunity that has changed the course of my life drastically. henceforth, I have read and researched many colleges and their programs, and BYU-I stood
I would consider myself very an incredibly driven person, both academically, and in my personal goals. Throughout my educational career, I have consistently strived to achieve the most I could. For me, this meant high academic achievements, honors accolades and achieving the goals that I set my mind to. I have a very strong intrinsic drive to seize every opportunity I’m given. To guarantee I didn’t close any doors to my future I applied to as many colleges as I could instead of staying in my comfort zone and applying to schools I was guaranteed admission to. One of the biggest ways that I am a go-getter is the fact that I faced rejection head on from top schools in the country. For me, it was better to try than always wonder “what-if” even though the process became extremely disheartening at times. I pushed myself throughout the admissions process to have as many opportunities as possible. Additionally, I have an innate desire to learn new things and grow through my education. I have pushed myself to take challenging Advanced Placement electives in subjects I am passionate about and I am eager to begin college to continue increasing my knowledge in certain fields. In college, my biggest goal is to graduate in three years. While this new challenge may be difficult to achieve as my degree plan involves two majors in Anthropology and Communications and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies I also understand how rewarding it will be to complete my studies in an
After I graduate high school I plan to attend Blinn college to get my basics and take pre engineering classes. After I finish that I am going to transfer to ATM and major in electrical engineering. My goals are to fully support myself and live comfortably, not having to live paycheck to paycheck. I would like to help my parents pay the rest of their bills as well. I want help to support a family if that may happen in the future. By the time I am 25 I want to have a secure job and own a home.
When the challenge of beginning college presented itself, I had no goals in mind. When you’re 18 and have a high school diploma in your hand, people tend to see you as a piece of molding clay. Your friends and family can’t resist telling you what you should do and how you should do it. They also never fail to pile on the questions. Not having the answers to such seemingly simple questions like, “What do you want to be?” “Where do you want to go?” “How are you going to do it?” can make a young, ambitious person question herself. But the reality was, I just did not know yet. I considered becoming a business manager, a dental hygienist, an accountant, a nurse. Originally, I thought not having a solid plan meant I wasn’t prepared for college. However, I discovered that no matter what students aspire to pursue during their postsecondary education, everyone must complete General Education Requirements, so that is where I began my journey.
As a student at IUPUI i would like to accomplish a goal of obtaining a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Another goal of mine is to be involved in clubs to meet people with similar interests. I am an outstanding individual and self motivated student and expect to continue to do so in college. My academic goals as a student have and will always be to achieve the best grades that I can possibly obtain. I am an intelligent student and learn the best by being around intelligent students, I also like helping people learn and grow academically. My last goal that I want to achieve while attending college is to obtain a internship in my future career field in order to obtain more knowledge in my field.
I have always been told that going to college is the opportunity of a lifetime. It seems as if an infinite number of moments have gone into preparing for college. Right when it felt like those moments would continue on forever, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel, and the college process began. As I began to search, and seek God's will for my future, I was forced to ask myself: what is it I truly hope to gain from the college experience? Ultimately I decided that as a college student I hope to become fully prepared for my future career, fellowship and grow with fellow believers in Christ, and be challenged on a deeper level in my relationship with Christ.
My main objective for going to college is to put myself in a position where I can bring people together to solve common problems. I am currently a sophomore in college and I’m double majoring in both International Relations and Computer Technology. As an ambassador of my generation, my goal is to become a language interpreter for the United Nations and a computer technician. I plan on studying abroad to further enhance my knowledge and gain a greater understanding of how to communicate more effectively with different cultures. The personal experience of interacting with different people will give me insight on how to not only bring people together, but enhance my skills as an interpreter as well. According to Eve Elwell from thirdyearabroad.com,
Being educated when it comes to college is very important, especially in the career you are interested in. Most often, you will be with that career most of your life, so you need to know all the ins and outs of the career path. That’s why I believe it is important, it will be valuable to me because they will teach me things that I need to know for the career path I am interested in.
Education is the only way that helps me to escape from my struggle life, and continue my dream in the art industry. I am Uyen Nguyen, a Vietnamese immigrant with a big dream in the United States. When I was in Vietnam, because of family issues, I postponed my education in high school and got a job. Years later, I got married and have a son. Unfortunately, my marriage life was ended just right after my son was born. During that time, without any financial support as well as child support, I had to work hard to take care of my mother, my only son, and myself. Consequently, my financial needs grew up when my son grew up and went to school. Then, I realized that without education, it was hard for me to have a better salary, not to mention the dream about the art industry. For this reason, I decided to go to adult school after working hours to complete the high school program so that I would continue my dream in the college. Luckily, I get married again and relocated to the U.S, the land of freedom and opportunities. Right now, I am a student at El Camino College, where I start the first step of my dream in art.
Ever since I entered school as a little girl I was constantly setting goals for town soccer teams, T-ball games and running the fastest at P.E. class, but as I got older I realized that my goals seemed to change. At this point in time, I want to graduate high school with a 3.6-4.0 GPA, get into my college of choice, complete my scholarships and find my correct career path.
University of Alabama Early College will help me achieve my college goals by helping to prepare me for my future. I hope to gain a sense of independence, knowledge and self-worth. Enrolling in college while in high school will challenge my intellect and study habits as well as give me insight into what college life will be like. It will allow me to see how vigorous college work is in comparison to high school. I can adjust my study habits now to ensure I will succeed in future classes. Early College will allow me to experience a fraction of the challenges some face during freshmen year thus allowing me a higher probability of success. Having that insight will be immensely invaluable. Being college ready is a very important goal of mine.
One of my biggest goals is to go to college. Attending college after high school has always been one of my goals in life. I know that going to college will give me a better future and will allow me to live a healthy, and happy life. Going to college is even more important to me because my grandparents did not attended college, my father did not attend college and my mother attend very little college. Attending college this fall means that I will be the first person in my family to attend college as a full time student. Another one of my goals is to travel during my time in college. I would really enjoy visiting different countries because I want to learn about new religions, try new foods and meet new people. Traveling to new countries would
