I am writing this letter to express my sincere interest in the Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) community program at TSU. I had the pleasure to speak to one of your current resident (Keidra), and also to the professors (Dr. Hunter, Capers, Ndefo-Anadu, and Dean Stemley) at the residency showcase at the recent 2015 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in New Orleans. The program offers the chance to gain experience covering community pharmacy practice, management, ambulatory care, teaching, and research. It also challenges residents to advance their clinical skills, actively participate in professional advocacy efforts, and develop patient care services.
I have always had a passion for community pharmacy, and I am particularly intrigued by the positive impact community pharmacists have due to their readily accessibility to the public. A community residency provides postgraduate training that enables residents to achieve their professional goals, become a leader within the profession, provide compassionate patient care and contribute to the advancement of healthcare.

However the skill of medicine extends far beyond the classroom. I am a highly qualified candidate for your residency program, which requires ambition, innovation, devotion and clear communication. While at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy, I devoted my time to serving the underserved in diverse community. Furthermore, my solid understanding of computer technology has helped me provide quick and accurate patient care. This experience would also provide the opportunity to further develop my leadership skills. Through mentorship from experienced pharmacists, I will become a more effective leader ready to train other health care
This pharmacy catered to the local community. Some customers that came into this particular pharmacy were college students, middle- aged individuals, and elderly patients. I interacted with college students and elderly patients. Some prescriptions that were often filled included medications for hypertension, oral contraceptives, and controls.
The close relationship with patients and respect received in a community are what attract me to a career in a rural community. I have not decided what specialization I want to pursue within pharmacy; however, I’m hoping that the REHPS program can guide me towards the best branch of pharmacy for me, whether it is community or hospital based. Working in a small town pharmacy has had a positive influence on my career path and remains a possibility for my future career. I am anxious to experience a rural hospital setting and see if that could also be a good fit. Working through the REHPS program will not only show me what possible pharmacy careers options I have after graduation, but also give me the experience I need to form a successful career. I hope to make lifelong connections that can mold me into the most well rounded pharmacist I can
I have cultivated many skills throughout my undergraduate education that I believe will help me succeed throughout medical school. My decision to become a doctor did not happen overnight but was a passion that grew with me and inspired my entire life. I am eager to start my journey at Morehouse College of medicine and become a physician that provides quality treatment and works on improving health care in rural areas and underserved communities in Georgia and across the United
I have spent my time as a student pharmacist learning about opportunities within clinical pharmacy and making certain that I was equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. In my pursuit, I became an active member of pharmaceutical organizations, held multiple leadership positions, attended clinical conferences, established research projects, participated in community service events, and other initiatives. I excelled academically, which was manifested in not just a high academic standard but also in tutoring fellow classmates and arranging sessions with other pharmacy students to help them improve time management and study skills. I shadowed pharmacists and residents before my advanced pharmacy practice experiences commenced to discover which areas of clinical pharmacy I found intriguing. I have obtained valuable pharmacy practice experiences in five specialties thus far including inpatient internal medicine, long term acute care, geriatrics and telehealth, and primary care. Through these rotations, I built upon the knowledge I acquired from my didactic courses but also developed patient-centered approaches and strengthened my clinical skills. I enjoyed many aspects of my rotations, including contributing pharmacotherapy recommendations, providing patient education, attending rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings – all of which have solidified my desire
My immediate goal is to pursue a PGY-1 residency program to further develop my clinical and critical thinking skills as well expand my skills in administration and research. I want to gain exposure to a general residency program so I will become a well-rounded pharmacists and continue to have close ties to my future colleagues at the VA. After completing a PGY-1 residency program, I want to specialize and pursue a PGY-2 in ambulatory care at the VA while continuously giving back to the people who have served our country. I am excited at the fact the VA offers an opportunity to care for our veterans and provide them with the most exceptional care. My ideal residency program is at the VA because I will receive exceptional clinical training as a pharmacist but also I will still be able to dedicate my time to serve and help underserved veterans. In addition, I want to provide the best teaching opportunities for future pharmacy students and interdisciplinary
This email is in support of my application for the Medical Assistant position at your medical practice in Northwest Atlanta. I am excited to find this opportunity because it closely aligns with my interests and future aspirations of becoming a Physician Assistant. What is being offered is an opportunity that will allow me to hone and polish my interpersonal, communication, and technical skills, but to also develop new skill sets that some health professionals lack. I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology from Agnes Scott College and a Master of Public Health from Morehouse School of Medicine. As a Biology major, my coursework allowed me to understand the study of life and how disturbances in the biological systems can influence one’s health. I loved this form of science but realized that managed care plays a greater role in the healthcare system. Thus, I minored in public health and later obtained a Master of Public Health to not only strengthen my knowledge, research abilities, and writing skills, but to also gain the ability to think critically and make decisions that will optimize the benefits of the patient. Both educational experiences have provided me with a solid foundation to build my medical career. I am a very intelligent young woman with a deep interest in two diverse approaches, which will ultimately help bridge the gap between patients and the community. Ultimately, I want a career that not only interacts at the individual level, but at the population level as
Having a passion in healthcare has always been of great importance since childhood. Growing with parents full of compassion for their jobs of helping others in the hospital setting and having them as well teach me the importance of people’s lives had exposed me to my great desire of needing to help the lives of others since the age of 1. Being accepted into a clinical program is a golden opportunity that would fulfill this passion. The LCHS Clinical 1 Program is a valuable chance to get hands-on clinical experience in a hospital setting. The clinical rotations that are incorporated in this program will help me know how to act in a professional setting, gain shadowing experience, and expand my knowledge on the different medical career fields.
I am extremely interested in joining your program as I am convinced that your residency program would be ideal for my training and I shall be able to accomplish my career goals at your program.
Preparing myself for residency, I am gaining significant US clinical experience in a hospital setting with a good understanding of the current standard of care. This experience has also given me a good insight into the ethics, medico-legal dilemmas, economics, and other aspects of medicine that go beyond the science of medicine that play a role in the US health system. It also gives me an opportunity to interact with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds which is educational and enjoyable.
A pharmacy is considered a chain community pharmacy when there are multiple stores of the same brand (Chain Community Pharmacy, 2013). In this particular field of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist can manage the pharmacy or work as a staff member. The pharmacy manager will be in charge of the staff and other different services that will allow the pharmacy to operate smoothly. In comparison to Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, Community Pharmacists experience many of the same encounters with direct patient care being the main one. Pharmacists that work in a chain community pharmacy are also interacting and building long-term relationships with their patients. However, this medicine field can be demanding, leading to stressful situations at times (Chain Community Pharmacy, 2013). If one can't handle demanding atmospheres, then this particular career pathway might not be for
Through the training opportunities available at this university I will have the ability to pursue further interaction with patients while strengthening my pharmacotherapeutic knowledge related to specific disease states. In the course of achieving my short term goal of achieving a pharmacy residency, I will be able to refine and hone my clinical expertise as well as expanding my research and teaching abilities. Upon completion of this training, as well as my post-doctorate training, my plan is to obtain a position as a clinical pharmacist in a specialized patient population. The exposition to a variety of different areas of pharmacy practice will undoubtedly shape the direction which I choose to pursue, though I know that currently my primary field of interest is ____. By continuing to pursue this field, I will be better capable of teaching students in the future as well as conducting research in a variety of pharmacy
The MD Program at GW is well-tailored to my specific interests: working as a community physician through service, broadening my medical and cultural knowledge by studying abroad, and performing clinical research.
Getting into Adelphi University Graduate program will give me the opportunity to engage in promoting an optimal standard of care for patients and the community. Being Alumni at Adelphi University I know how helpful, caring and passionate all the professors and faculty staff are. I
It was my pleasure to interview at the distinguished UC Davis School of Medicine. I enjoyed every single moment of my visit. The sense of community at UCDSOM is heartwarming. I had the privilege to interact with enthusiastic medical students, physicians, and faculty members. The interview day gave me deeper insight into the mission and core values of UC Davis School of Medicine. It also confirmed my passion and fit for the school.
