Is the movie Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann’s good or bad? A movie where took place in fair Verona. Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet was about two families mortal enemies for a very long time where in just one night where so called love at first sight happen. The friction of Montague and Capulet ended by the death of the two young children who fall in love with each other from both families. Baz Luhrmann’s movie version of Romeo and Juliet does a great job of retelling this love story. First of all, it made it a great movie because the director did not forgot to use Shakespeare’s lines on his play. After the party on Capulet’s mansion Romeo sneaks into Juliet’s orchard and see her come out from her balcony and say the famous line of the play of ‘em all “O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name! Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet” (33-36). This shows that even though how modern time is when you start to act Shakespeare’s play with great actors, the movie will always have a good outcome. When Romeo goes to the Capulet’s tomb to see Juliet and was amazed how beautiful her wife that she do not look like she was dead and when Juliet soon wake up Romeo already drink the potion, she saw him dead and look for Romeo’s gun and shoot herself. What this shows is that this is the part where I develop my decision to the movie because the actors delivered the line so perfect and touched my soul that made me cry. I’m impressed with Luhrmann’s courage to make a movie of one of the most Famous plays of all time.
