A Raisin in The Sun is one of the best works in the history of the American theatre. The Oedipus Cycle is the crown of tragic theatre of ancient Greece. The time between these two plays is measured by centuries. However, both of these play raised the same theme — fight. In one of the plays the main character fights against the system of black people working in service industry and live in a black neighborhood. In another play the main character fights against the prophecy and trying to escape it. A Raisin in The Sun is the story of the head of an African-American family, Travis Lee, who lives on the South Side of Chicago in the 1950s. He was trying to get out from poverty by quitting his job as a driver and opening a liquor store
