This is comparison of a child and an animal being abused and the people would support more a child than the animal we understand the child is a human being and it’s just a kid but the animal is just an animal but this living creature has feelings and a life it would like to live with a person who would love and cherish every moment with the animal. A veterinarian was caught abusing animals at the hospitals video tapes caught her hurting them nearly to death and the doctor has been suspended for 10 months and has to pay a fine of $10,000 but can reduced to few more depending on how the actions are being taken by the doctor. If we protest on an animal being abused some people wouldn’t care and some would because those who do care have a heart and would like to put a stop to this. The people think this is just a one time thing and then forget about it but it’s something that happens 24/7 everyday an animal is being abused or killed by someone for a certain reason.
The people know about Michael Vick that he was the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and played for 13 seasons in the National Football League (But there is another story that Michael Vick has been involved in dog fights and went to prison for the actions that committed). That does not cover on what had happened to the dogs,Donna Reynold’s had said in details that the swimming pool was used for kill some of the dogs as she continues, the people did not know how many suffered the permitted murder, but the damage of pool walls tells a story. Michael Vick did not just put dogs to fight, but he would hang, drown, shoot, repeatedly slamming their head and spine into the ground
Movies, TV shows, circuses, and illegal gatherings in an old car garage are all places that animal abuse has taken place for the entertainment of humans. Since the 1900’s movie producers have been using animals in their productions (Dugas). Inhumane and unnecessary, are just two words that describe animal abuse, the use of animals for human entertainment is cruel and injustice.
In October of 2012, a Jack Russell Terrier puppy named Phoenix was set on fire in Buffalo N.Y. The woman who discovered him was attracted by black smoke. She managed to put out the the flames with her sweater and proceeded to rush him to a small animal hospital with severe burns over his whole body and a serious ankle infection. Although he lost 60% off of both of his ears he maintained almost complete mobility of his leg. He still has a slight limp. Judi Bunge, a senior vet technician at Buffalo Small Animal Hospital who had been looking after Phoenix, adopted him soon after he had fully recovered. He now lives with Judi and her two other dogs. "Phoenix will become a therapy dog and continue his work as an ambassador for the
Over the centuries, animals have suffered from cruelty from humans. In the United States, animals are beaten, neglected, or forced to struggle for survival. Animals have been inflicted with pain from humans for reasons other than self-defense. They have been slaughtered for their food and fur for personal gain in profit. In a majority of cases they have even been abused for someone’s own personal amusement or out of rage filled impulses. In some cases animals are found and rescued. They are given the second chance in life to experience what life should be like compared to what they once had.
The topic I wrote my capstone on was animal cruelty. When I was deciding what topic to go with I was looking for something that not only had a lot of research done on it but a topic I had strong feelings for. Although most people would be against animal cruelty not many people know about the animal cruelty done behind many of the products we buy. I wanted people to not just be against the abuse and mistreatment of pets but also against the use and torture of animals in labs and factories. Which is why I added in many examples of the use of animals in these places. There are so many different forms of animal cruelty, but I decided to mention the ones that involve the cruelty of animals for things we use everyday like medicine and makeup. I did this to show just how much we contribute to animal cruelty without even realizing it.
Unfortunately today there are many cases of animal abuse happening around the world. Animal cruelty or animal abuse can be defined as the infliction of suffering or harm upon animals for purposes other than self-defense. There are many different types of abuse such as using animals for research, using animals for entertainment purposes, abandoning animals to shelters, and animal neglect. We need to raise awareness and find a solution to these issues. Animals are suffering and we need to help them.
Animal Abuse is a widespread subject people hear about all the time but never think twice as if it relates to violence in the home as well. Researchers have documented case studies proving the direct relationship between domestic violence and abuse of animals. In a Wisconsin study, it showed that 68 percent of women who had lived with abusive partners, the pets were also abused. The ethic of caring for animals also applies to the same ethic of caring for your own. The psychological link is the abuser trying to ensure control and enforce submission of the family whilst creating a fearful environment for both the animal and the victims. A case study in Texas proved batterers who also abused pets had
The abuse and mistreatment of domesticated animals such as dogs isn't typically an issue that gets a lot of media attention and usually goes unnoticed by the public eye. This is due to people being either misinformed or just not knowing about the affects that abuse has in animals, how studies show that people that abuse animals are also more likely to be arrested for battery against another human, how "30 million animals in the U.S. die each year from cruelty, neglect, and exploitation ", and that the "yearly cost to U.S. taxpayers to impound, shelter, euthanize, and dispose of homeless animals: $2 billion" (Oxford Pets). A study from 2001-2004 by the Chicago Police Department "revealed a startling propensity for offenders charged with crimes
All living things deserve a life free from fear and pain. Animal abuse can be intentional harm or failure to take care of an animal. Either way, the animal can suffer tremendously. Animal abuse is a problem that goes unnoticed by the majority of people. This is because people are not being informed of the kind of abuse that pets go through. People need to be made aware of what some animals are being put through. If people are made aware, they could help protect animals.
According to the Humane Society of the United States, there was a South Carolina puppy mill that consisted of hundreds of puppies that were living in harmful conditions with no food or water, many of them were closed up in a small cages, and some had illnesses. Their fur was matted and the animals were sick because they were not taken care of properly (Animal Abuse). Once all the animals were rescued, they were relocated into animal shelters in hopes of regaining their strength and getting adopted. Animal abuse is illegal in all fifty states because of events like this that mistreat animals. They have rights just like humans do.

In most areas, someone from the local animal control agency, humane organization, or animal shelter will be responsible for investigating and enforcing the local anti-cruelty laws, but if unsure, call local police to find out who to report the cruelty to. Parents and educators are teaching children how to safely interact with animals at an early age, as well as how they can tell if an animal is being harmed and what to do about it. Bystanders are beginning to stand up for what they believe in when they witness animal cruelty and take a stand by reporting the behavior. If someone had stood up for Maya and her mother, their abuser would’ve been punished and others would be less inclined do the same thing.
Animals are the beginning of the best nerve wrecking filled love you could ever dream of for your entire existence. Ever since I was a young child, I’ve always resonated with the everlasting idea of helping animals more so than anyone and anything else in this world. My love for animals had begun when I was a mere two years old. I’ve always had pets: dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and much more. I remember the joy I’d felt when my parents brought my dogs and I to the park. To find out more information about how to help adoptable animals in shelters, I contacted Amanda Smasal, a community outreach coordinator at Wayside Waifs. Wayside Waifs is no-kill shelter located in Kansas City, Missouri which has adoptable dogs and cats, ready and willing to go to safe, loving homes.
Every day in the United States animals are beaten, neglected, and forced to struggle for survival. They are left in horrible conditions, ones without any food and or water. Some are lucky, they are found and rescued, being given a chance to survive by being cared for in a shelter or even given a new home. But others, aren’t so lucky. We must fight for these animals’ rights and punish the heartless owners. Its up to us to speak up for these creatures who don’t have a voice.
