The Outsiders book and movie are the same but also very different to. These are some of the similarities I saw in the movie and book. It generally goes across the same idea/lesson that we are all the same rich, poor, or average. And that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, like some greasers are mean but some are nice, and how some socs are mean and some are nice. Also in the movie and the book they also both explain how johnny’s home life was harsh and brutal were no one in the home cared or loved for him. Also that Pony,Darry, and Soda were living them three, because of their parents dying in a car crash suddenly. It also shows that the greaser are like family nothing can break them apart, and they trust each other with their lives and love and care for them more than some of their own parents care for them. It also talks about in the movie and book that Johnny killed Bob …show more content…
Like one I thought was important was how Darry shoved Pony in the movie and didn't hit him like the book said it happened. I felt like that was important because they both showed a size of violence, but I felt like shoving Pony showed more angry anger and not a I hate you anger. I thought that was important because it did show that Darry wasn't mad and that he was just fed up with it and scared/paranoid of losing another person he loved. Another major difference I noticed was that was that near the end of the movie was that when Johnny died and Dally rushed out of the hospital on his way out he pointed a gun at a doctor, and was talking about how it wasn't fair and Jhonny was the only thing he loved. I thought this one was really important because it really showed how much he cared for Johnny and that he was the only thing he loved. And when he died Dally had nothing to lose and broke and it showed his true anger. Those were the major differences I noticed between the book and movie and why I thought that they were the most
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
The book and the movie of the Outsiders are two very different stories. The book has so much more detail then the movie. The movie is not the most detailed but it does get its point across. There are may similarities and also many differences between the two the book is by far more interesting and more detailed then the movie. I enjoyed the book a lot and the movies a lot but the movie was missing a lot.
In the book “The Outsiders” there is more detail and the plot seems to go at a slower pace than the movie. The greasers are from the west side of town while
I liked The Outsiders book/movie because it’s about a group of greasers that are more like family. They have a lot of struggles but get through them together. They compete with a rival gang called the Socs and it gets very intense. Personally I can’t chose which if the book or the movie is better because they both contribute different parts. This paper is about the differences from the book and movie with the characters, relations, and scenes.
This story could have things that happen in real life and not just in a story. The outsiders story is mainly about gangs that have there differences with each other. The Greasers are the main characters in the story. The Greasers have the most differences with the Socs. The Outsiders movie has all of the main events that happen in the book, for example in chapter 4 of the book Johnny had
In The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, the book as well the movie differ due in many ways. Certain characters are neglected in the movie and specific plot points are removed entirely. The first reason the book is different is that Sodapop is overlooked as a character. In this part of the story, Ponyboy (hereby referred to as PB) is describing how his brother Sodapop acts (hereby referred to as Soda). The book states, “He can get drunk in a drag race or dancing without ever getting near alcohol” (p.8).
The 1967 novel The Outsiders and the 1983 film The Outsiders are equally similar and different from one another. It is clear that many scenes from the movie have different settings from their original novel counterparts. For example, in the movie Dally’s death happens in the street while it happens in a parking lot in the book. Another difference between the forms is that some things are that are mentioned in the novel are not mentioned in the film.
The novel of The Outsiders is better than the movie. The novel gives more vivid details than the movie does. Even though the movie shows actual image, the novel lets you have your own image of what’s going on. The movie did not show the part where Ponyboy was getting jump. That is where most of the conflicts started. It also didn’t show the part where they were at the court, which is a really important part in The Outsiders. The feeling and tension are more intense in the novel than it is in the movie. Over all, the movie is not better than the novel.
II. Similarities (stick with at least four)- In the movie and book Ponyboy gets along with his brother sodapop very well they stick up with each other. The movie and the book are both named the outsiders. In both movie and novel the Greasers and socs have a fight the Greasers won the fight. Also when ponyboy and johnny got jumped by A soc ANd they killed him after they ran off into
The Outsiders is a book that has been read by many people. Most of the people have enjoyed the book, but not the movie or vise versa. The Outsiders was very good and had a great story behind it. The reasons why the book is better than the movie are the book gives more detail, people can let their imagination go wild, and the movie leaves out key elements that the book has.
There are 2 different versions to “The Outsiders,” a book by: S.E. Hinton. There are many similarities and differences between the book and the movie. In my opinion the book is better because it shows more detail and will always go that extra mile to have every little detail. And the book is more realistic. But the movie is still really good, even though it cuts out a many of parts that the book still has.
The book is better because it has more events than the movie. Watching “The Outsiders” movie, I was a little disappointed when certain events from the book weren’t in the movie. Ponyboy and Cherry didn’t talk about the sunsets very much in the movie. In the book, they talk about how they admire just sitting and watching the sunsets. Another event that wasn’t in the movie is when Pony and Two-Bit see Johnny’s mother at the hospital. I think that event is really important because it shows a little of what Johnny has gone through at home. However, some may say that the movie is better because it has all of the major events. But, even the less important events are still significant in some way.
THE OUTSIDERS final essay The Outsiders is a great novel. It’s setting is the 1960s, and is about young gang member, Ponyboy, and how he dealt with the rich, mean, and cocky socs. All is well until one night when his friend takes everything too far. Although the book is great, there is also a great movie.
The movie “the Outsiders” is very different from the book, written by S. E. Hinton. The very first scene in the movie shows Ponyboy writing in his journal the very first words in the book, “When I stepped out into the bright sunlight…” (The Outsiders). The book does not show or say in the beginning of the book that Pony was writing in his journal. Almost right after that scene it barely shows a slight argument/fight between greasers and socs. The book tells us that the fight was more serious and Ponyboy got hurt pretty bad, when in the movie all Pony gets is a little scar. After Johnny gets hurt when the old church catches on fire he ends up dying. Dally, another greaser that is part of the main group of friends, ends up shoplifting because he really cared about Johnny. Dally was eventually shot and killed by the police. The scene in the movie where Dally is in the store, thinking about shoplifting, is not in the book. “He’s just robbed a grocery store and the cops are after him.” (Hinton 153). The whole scene of Dally in the store is not in the book. Although there are many differences between the movie and the book, “the Outsiders”, there are also many similarities.
There is the novel, The Outsiders, and the movie that’s being compared and when being compared the novel is better. There are different examples such as detail, time frame, imagination, and important scenes that weren’t shown in the movie. The novel is better because it includes more detail such as character development. The movie skips the first chapter which talks about who the characters are and their backstory about why they are considered greasers.
