Conflict Theory relates to Labeling Theory

There are several theories that emerge and relate to each other. Conflict theory and labeling theory are two theories that relate to each other. Labeling theory is a major factor when dealing with criminal behavior, such as deviant acts. It explains why people violate social norms, which leads to a conflict in a society with many different people. Conflict theory focus on the connection between the political environment of crime and criminal law; examining the conflict between different groups and their control of power. Labels are developed and placed on individuals in society, which leads to conflict, limiting them to certain recourses.

Areas with a high crime rate, high unemployment and a low level of income are often seen as low property areas. Often in low property areas there is high level of deviant actions. Lower class delinquents are the ones who usually commit deviant acts in order to get what they need to survive and are punished by the criminal justice system for their actions. Based off of their social class and social issues their only means to provide and help their families are by taking actions into their own hands. If a delinquent from a higher social class decides to commit the same deviant act there is lesser chance that the will face the same
