I start driving, and decide to go to the Museum of Art. I absolutely adore museums, especially art ones. One day, I would love to go to the Art Basel in Miami. 25 minutes later, I enter the Museum of Modern Art. The building is humongous and busy. I walk into the first exhibition, and am already amazed at the art. There are several paintings, and sculptures around the room. One painting catches my eye. It’s an extremely detailed painting of San Francisco. I think it caught my eye, because it reminds me of the view from the hills of Twin Peaks. I head towards the next exhibition, which is just filled with different types of paintings. I see paintings of people, buildings, indoors, and much more. For some unknown reason, my all-time favorite painting is Van Gogh’s self-portrait. I’m not sure why I like it so much, but I do. I also really love his painting called “Starry Night”. It gives me a calm, positive vibe. I walk towards the café in the museum to grab a snack before I leave. Before I arrive to the museum. I noticed Union Square about 10 minutes behind, so I decide to go there. I’ve also seen the Union Square in movies, but it looks much more extensive in person. I slowly walk around to check out the busy stores, and restaurants. The stores here definitely look classier, and high-end. The Union Square is certainly my favorite destination in San Francisco today. After a little while of walking around, I feel a little tired, so I walk back towards the car. I sit, and have a few minutes’ rest. Where to now? I read the brochure once more, and see a stunning national park called Yosemite National Park. It has a hotel too, which would be nice to sleep in, instead of my car. It is 3 hours and 40 minutes ahead, so I drive to a nearby petrol station for gas. I fill up my gas tank all the way, and get a few snacks for the 164 miles drive
One pleasant afternoon, my classmates and I decided to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to begin on our museum assignment in world literature class. According to Houston Museum of Fine Art’s staff, MFAH considers as one of the largest museums in the nation and it contains many variety forms of art with more than several thousand years of unique history. Also, I have never been in a museum in a very long time especially as big as MFAH, and my experience about the museum was unique and pleasant. Although I have observed many great types and forms of art in the museum, there were few that interested me the most.
First of all, I observed a rich cultural museum that has gained national acclaim as a model urban

I chose this museum because it is located in one the city’s oldest parks on the southeastern edge of downtown and allows us to visually experience what life was like in North Texas during the 19th and early 20th century. It is situated along a charming redbrick Main Street, and has 38 exquisitely restored building that are fully furnished buildings, some of which include-- a log cabin, a Greek Revival style mansion, a school house, a shotgun house and a farmstead that dates back to 1840 through 1910, and invite us to scrutinize the past through self-guided tours and winsome living history presentations. Added to the atmosphere are live farm animals and a host of reiterating events, costumed docents, that range from mock gunfights to historical replications. It makes us step back in time at this wonderfully bizarre, victorian-era park.
Art in Denver: A Guide to Things Worth Seeing, though nearly a hundred years old, is an informative piece of literature. Taking the tour around Denver’s historic artwork and architecture presents a fascinating comparison of the Denver that was and present day Denver. I can only hope that all pieces highlighted in this book remain intact and well
Tucked away in the Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum basement, the Nancy Johnston Records Gallery celebrates the work of Oscar Brousse Jacobson. It has been 100 years since he started working here at our university. In his time here, he oversaw the creation of the very museum that now holds his work and helped to give several Native American artists a start. Fascinated by Asian art and the various landscapes of the world, he travelled each summer and collected over 2,500 pieces for the museum1. He did all of this while holding the position of director of the OU Art School. Although he passed away in 1966, his work and legacy live on. His vision of a public art museum in Oklahoma not only came true, but said museum also
Coltivirus, belonging to the Reovirus family is a genome of viruses that infect plants, vertebrates, and even invertebrates. . This virus is one of the causing agents of Colorado tick fever in North America, which has been isolated from patients with encephalitis, flulike syndromes, meningitis, and other severe complications. The main vector for the Coltivirus in North America is the Rocky Mountain Wood Tick, although the virus has also been isolated from mosquitoes, rodents, and humans. Coltivirus is a RNA virus, which means it has a ribonucleic acid genome. It exhibits a high frequency of RNA segment reassortment in its tick vector. Rodents and deer are its typical reservoir host, but other hosts have been reported.
The American Red Cross performed numerous amounts of tests for infectious diseases on donated blood. Their tests included West Nile virus (WNV), Human Immunodeficiency viruses Types 1 and 2 (HIV 1,2), Hepatitis B virus (HBV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV), Syphilis (Treponema pallidum), Human T-Lymphotropic virus (HTLV I/II), and Chagas disease (T. cruzi). Two infectious agents that should be tested further are herpes simplex virus and ebola. These two viruses should be tested because both viruses caused a huge outbreak and there is no effective cure against the virus. Also the herpes virus is lifelong in individuals while ebola can kill individuals within a matter of days.
Reports confirmed that early Thursday, 18 June, a Chinese cargo vessel capsized in Yangtze River near the eastern city of Nanjing, casualties were unidentified, early of June, an incident regarding a cruise ship that sank in the same river, but in the central province of Hubei, killing 442 people on board. Lingering around us are viruses that are anticipating for the moment they get to enter and attack their next host. To this day there are about 7,500 rats roaming the streets of Chicago. Rats carry diseases due to the high level of poor sanitation and large existence of garbage on the streets of residential areas. Living in one of the most disgusting creatures, it manages to make its way into the human. This new, horrific virus is known by the name of Bunya-Hantaviridae Mortifero. It gets its name from the species and family that it comes from as well as its structure. The virus’s first host cell was the Norway rat, also known as the street rat. It is well known that rats carry diseases, but this particular virus came along when Hurricane
The monkeypox virus belongs to Poxviridae family, which also includes cowpox, vaccinia, and variola (smallpox) viruses. Poxviruses are the largest vertebrate viruses known, infecting humans, and other vertebrates (species of sub-family Chondropoxvirinae), and arthropods (species of sub-family Entemopoxvirinae). There are around 70 known species of pox viruses spread among 28 genera and two sub-families (the Chordopoxvirinae and the Entomopoxvirinae). The virions contain a linear double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (dsDNA) genome and enzymes that synthesize messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA). They multiply in the cytoplasm of the host cells.
Virus may have helped humans in evolution. There are two types of viruses, retrovirus and the virus. The normal type of virus destroys the D.N.A. in cells then reproduces in the cell till the cell explodes. The retrovirus changes the way the D.N.A. thinks. Some scientist believe that was the key to evolution and have evidence to support it. A few scientist look at bacteria that are in extreme condition that are like the beginning of earth conditions. In those conditions they find bacteria and retroviruses. The first retrovirus was found in france 2003 on accident. It was named meme. They also believe by experimenting on sheep they help with birth. Now I wonder would you press a button to get rid of all viruses.
Rabies (lyssavirus) attacks the human’s nervous system, and is later discharged in the saliva. The lyssavirus keeps out of sight from the immune system, so there is no immune response and it is hard to fight back with the hidden virus. If the person infected does not get immediate treatment, the disease will evolve. After the person gets bitten, they should receive first aid immediately. After that, the only way to stop the rabies from growing is a preventive treatment. The treatment is giving certain immunoglobulin, which is an inactive immunization, and giving a normal vaccination, which is an active immunization. With the immunoglobulin, certain antibodies are given to fight the rabies like an antidote. They attach to the rabies virus and
As part of the commemoration of the International Museum of Art & Science’s 50th anniversary, this exhibition honors the major contribution made by this artist to the artistic culture of the Rio Grande Valley.
