In order to become a cosmetologist, I will have to take certain steps. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, I must graduate from a state-licensed barber or cosmetology school. I must also have a high school diploma or equivalent. The ages vary from state to a state of how old I have to be to attend a hair school. Most states require that I to be at least 17 or 18 to apply. There are some states that will allow enrollment at the age of 16.After I have graduated from a state-approved training I will be required to take a test.The test will be a written test and/or in some cases it may be a test of styling skills or an oral exam. Around the world cosmetology is being introduced like Egypt is suggested to be one of the most ancient culture that associates with cosmetics. A cosmetologist is a person that is trained to care for people's skin, hair, nails, safety, and sanitation. Cosmetologists can also referred as beauticians. To become a cosmetologist, a person will have to attend a beauty school/cosmetology school, to learn the techniques required. These techniques are, but not limited to hair cutting, perming, coloring, nails, and makeup as well as waxing. In order to get a license, a person will need to pass the board exam after they have completed cosmetology school. Each state has different requirements in order to pass, these differences include how many hours of school needed before taking the exam.
