Courage In Charles Doyle's The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle

We all have opportunities to display courage in our life, but if we actually do is our decision. Courage is being able to do what is right even if it can be hard. In the book Speak by Laurie Halle Anderson I found three different examples of courage. In this book Melinda Sordino, David Petrakis and Melinda, again all show courage.

Hidden Figures displayed integrity, persistence, and dedication to achieve things that may have been deemed impossible at that time. 1961, was a year where the workplace and schools were segregated, and colored individuals were oppressed to the point where they were not allowed to share the same bathrooms with Caucasian individuals.

Courage’s importance comes into play if choosing to live life to the fullest. “The quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear.” A revealing and mysterious novel “Jasper Jones” by Craig Silvey has Jasper (14) appearing at Charlie Bucktin’s (13) home late one night. Feeling the exhilaration Charlie takes up Jaspers offer to follow him into the woods, nervous and excited they crept through the night. Charlie and Jasper discover something that never will leave their conscience.

Shakespeare also displays that courage makes up for the strength that is absent in arduous situations. I agree with Shakespeare's message he is conveying in entirety. In the novels, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, the courageous acts are like one lone star lighting up the entire night sky.

Courage can be found in everyone big or small, mean, or nice. But sometimes it is hard to find your courage. In "Touching Spirit Bear" and " Maniac Magee" the author teaches us that people can be courageous by being friends with people they may not like at first and going to a place you might not want to go.

We’ve all faced difficulties in life and been at a point where having courage and maintaining hope was the only option available. While you may think courage simply means an act of bravery it’s much more. Courage takes a bigger picture of an act of bravery. It takes one to believe and have the ability to push through the hardest of times even when the results may not be guaranteed. It can be compared to a weapon armed in everyone's heart. You know when to take your gun out and load the bullets. A few of the main characters in the novel Between Shades of Gray ,Elena, Lina, and Andrius display courage in occasions that are easier said than done.

This quote talks about how courage involves taking risks especially in new situations. Laurie Halse Anderson had the same idea as Walt Disney in the book Speak. The characters she put in the book that showed courage had the take a lot of risks in new situations.
