Week four of MA105 has arrived. As I reflect on the past weeks of this class I can say that it has been a little challenging. The topics covered have been what I expected. This is partly due to the fact that I looked ahead in the Math Center to see what subjects will be taught before the class began. I also have a memory of the formulas from when I was in high school. However, that memory has not translated to fluency yet.
My experience in summer school, English 1302, allowed me to strengthen my writing skills by applying them to essays and real life. English 1302 taught me many useful writing techniques like the proper MLA format, how to cite excerpts throughout an essay, and how to avoid grammar mistakes. In this fast paced class we did a total of three major essays, my strongest most effective essay was, the proposal. Since I was not used to writing proposals I found it difficult to begin, but with the help of Mrs. Kane and the handy everything’s an agreement textbook I was able to deliver my essay effectively. I improved most when Mrs. Kane explained how to properly deliver this essay with the correct MLA formatting, reading the text book, and drafting/revising.
I am concern about Krista Cain’s ability to complete the COS 121 5H01 class successfully. I reported she did not have a workbook, which was required for the course; however, she stated that she had purchased an electronic copy of the workbook. I gave all the students a copy of the first chapter, including her with the understanding that they had to have all their supplies by the September 11 to continue in the program. I made Krista a copy of the next chapter workbook; however, she did not turn in the assignment. There has been three tests given and her grades are as following: 84, 79, 76. I give the students time during class to complete all their assignments; therefore, I do not assign them any homework. They receive
The start of this semester I did not know what to expect. I didn’t know how many classmates, who the teacher would be, or the probability of how well I would do in the course. Now, it’s getting close to the middle of the semester and mid-tests. I am very happy that half of this semester is almost done. During the fourth week of this class, surprisingly I learned some new information about myself. Based on a Myers-Briggs personality test I found out that my type is an INFJ. This acronym stands for Introversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Judgment. It also means “The Advocate”, how ironic since that is what I do for a living. I work for an agency as a home care aide to the seniors with

I have learned a great deal in ENG 110. I would like to summarize several of the key points from the session, including “Ockham’s Razor”, definition and process, writing a thesis statement, setting and reaching goals, and comparing and contrasting. Additional key points I learned from this session include making research relevant, avoiding run-ons, comma splices and fused sentences, the pro mind set and the key points of writing. When writing is best to use simple explanations and to define and explain the process. Goals need to be set and adjustments may need to be made in order to stay on track and reach them; in writing the thesis statement should be supported by the evidence from the paper. Comparing and contrasting presents both sides of an argument and discloses the whole story rather than just part of it. Words should be spelled correctly and if necessary clearly defined. Also
I cannot believe we are already ending Week 3! This course is flying by, and the knowledge I am learning is a lot from what I stepped into the course knowing. Before this week I was not aware of the amount of people without access to the internet. This stuck out a lot to me that something like the internet which is often taken for granted is limited in some countries. I get frustrated when it’s moving slow or not giving me the answer I was looking for, while some people have never had the luxury of using it. A statistic that shocked me was from the article, A Cell Phone Surge Among World’s Poor where it states “less than one percent of the people in Haiti have access to a landline.” That is something as simple as a house phone that they don’t
The Last Lecture is equally a telling of how Randy Pausch lived his life and a guide on how others should live theirs. Pausch was a professor at Carnegie Mellon and gave his last lecture after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. However, this lecture was not filled with weepy memories of his family or things he wished he could change. Instead, it was a recount of how he was able to achieve all of his childhood dreams and steps for anyone to do the same. Almost everything Randy says in his lecture are extremely quotable words to live by. He touches upon some of the most fundamental themes that everyone can understand, like the benefits of a positive attitude and how to overcome obstacles to achieve your dreams.
This first week's reading was rather surprisingly difficult to read. The concepts were straight forward, however, I found the presentation and examples a bit laborious to follow. As suggested, I will probably supplement my reading with a few external sources to improve my understanding. Interpreting the questions also cause a bit of confusion. Once I figured out what they were asking, the solutions where straightforward. This issue will probably resolve itself as a come to better the style of the author, and his approach to formatting the questions.
I am currently in Econ 106D Lec 2 but I am unable to enroll in its lab lecture. I talked to the professor about the problem and he said that the econ department counselors will be able to enroll me in lab and discussion because I am already in the class. Please assist me with with the situation and I hope to hear back from you soon. Thank you.

Before I began CCU, I was a little nervous. I don't know how well that I will remember what I am learning, etc. Since I began, I feel much more assured.
EDUC 641 was an interesting course that made me look at distance education is whole different light. Prior to taking this course, I did not have a firm understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an eModerator, nor understood how many hats they wear in order to make online courses run smoothly. Compared to a moderator in traditional classroom setting, eModerators have to acquire certain skills that normal moderators may not have, including keeping discussions on track, contributing knowledge without interfering with student self-directed learning, scanning, weaving and summarizing student responses, as well as keeping group harmony in discussions. The e-moderator must acquire technical and communication skills, understand the content
As the semester started, I had set my mind that I was destined to achieve a lot. During the start of the semester, I had several difficulties writing English assignments especially in terms of grammar. During the first week of the semester, I sat down, organized my thoughts and comprehended that throughout the semester, I had to achieve all that I had planned for. As a student of English, I had planned that throughout the semester, I had to improve my skills as a scholar, writer and critical thinker. Now that the semester has ended, I can reflect all the semester activities to depict how my writing skills and critical thinking skills have drastically improved. This paper presents a reflection paper of how this
