Buying local is the new slogan of producers and sellers selling their foods in the food market. Every Tuesday, of every summer a local foods market pops up in Thiensville, Wisconsin just a ten minute drive away. Every week my friends and I go at lunchtime to eat food grown on local farms. Fruits and vegetables of every color and every flavor. Juices and tea made from local herbs. Even an ice cream truck made with local dairy products. The locavore movement in all it’s glory. I am proud to be a proponent of a movement that has gained so much popularity in past years. Although locavore practices have proven to be difficult to maintain and unpredictable in production, the widely popular movement has incited change resulting in healthier eating practices along with profitable advancements for the local economy.
