The thunder clapped as the doorbell rang. Charlie ran to the door opening it with a smile from ear to ear as Grandma Smith walked in and hung her damp, plush rabbit fur coat on the splintery coat rack. “Finallwe,” Charlie said, “I thought no one would show up. “Oh, Charlie,” Grandma said, “Where are your parents at?” “They’re in the Lounge,” Charlie yelled back as he ran to the Powder Room. Grandma Smith walked through the hall with the aid of a wooden cane looking at all the beautiful pictures and the giant crystal chandeliers, admiring the gold trim and the crown molding. She walked into an argument between Charlie’s parents Sandra and Christopher. Sandra was glaring at Christopher with her stormy grey eyes while Christopher was running his hand through his dark brown hair, shaking his head. “Oh, I didn’t see you there,” Sandra said in cheerful voice, “do you want anything to drink while we wait for the rest of the family”. “Can I have some red wine”, Grandma asked? “Sure”, Sandra said, “Christopher, will you go tell the butler to open the thirteen year old red wine barrel for the gathering?” As Christopher walked off to get the butler as the doorbell rang like a church hymn. “I’ll get that”, Sandra said. As Sandra opened the large white and gold double doors Matthew, Rachel and April greeted her. “Come on in,” Sandra said in greeting tone. As they walked in Matthew took off his black leather jacket that saved his thick, black, devilishly handsome hair and placed it on the old coat rack. Matthew was dressed in a casual but dressy outfit consisting of black and blue plaid shirt and blue jeans which went very well with his dark blue eyes. Rachel was a tall and lean woman who was wearing long, brown leather jacket that covered all of her white and black striped dress. While Rachel put her jacket on the rack, April took of her beautiful pure white coat and left it to dry on the wooden coat rack.

Sandra gathered everyone and took them into the Dining Room. The plump cook served them Chedder Cheese soup with bread loaf and the aged wine straight from the barrel for the first course. Not everyone had finished but the cook gathered the soup bowl and began to serve the main course, turkey breasts and mashed
