There she goes again. Mother can’t ever mind her own business, Seriously will it kill her to just leave her thoughts to herself. Little Mike came up tugging at her sleeve, his soft little fingers grasping at the cloth, a pull then another. “Yes sweetheart.” Mike looked at her, his finger pointed forwards, just at the edge of my vision. “It’s our turn now mommy.” She looked up; Mike quickly ran forward. “Woah slow down buddy, you can’t walk away by yourself.” Mike came to a sudden stop;he turned to look at her. “But dad lets me walk to the playground by myself. “Not now sweetie, the movie is starting.” The screen flickered to life as the film started to roll. I took a chance and opened the can when everybody was too enchanted by the screen. I quickly swallowed the little blue pill and chugged the last of the beer. Gazing back, I glimpsed a grandma giving me a disapproving look. I just rolled my eyes at her and ignored her presence. She’s just like mom, judging everybody and not taking a moment to look at herself, the old hag. I went back to staring at the screen and let my mind wander freely. Slowly the screen went out of focus and I found myself in my old house. I was in the living room looking over my father as he slept on the couch. This is definetly my old couch. Same stains and oh god the smell. “Get back to your room!” I jumped and looked at my mom as she came into the room, there was a guy with her. “I told you to go to your room!” I quickly ran back upstairs and shut the door. I felt a sudden shake and then another. I was startled back to reality and came face to face with Mike. “Mommy the movie’s over.” He was right, the credits were rolling onto the screen and everybody else had already left by now. Alright sweetheart let's go. I picked up my bag and took Mike’s hand and left the theater. Come on we have a long way home.
