Taken It was snowing the day it happened. Icy flakes drifted down from the sky in a flurry of madness, and the air was freezing. This is how it always was, and how it always would be, ever since the spirits had terrorized the streets of the village. Everyone’s windows were boarded, and no one dared step outside for fear of being taken. Elizabeth wondered about that. What is being “taken” and why are all of the adults talking about it in hushed voices? Elizabeth was a smart girl, well aware of the dangers that lived just outside of the door, but she was still very curious. She moved the wooden panel covering the window and peeked outside. She didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. “Lizzy!” her father called, pulling her out of her thoughts. “Put the plank back. You know how dangerous it is out there.” …show more content…
She had so many questions, but no one would give her any answers. Adults could be so frustrating sometimes. But Elizabeth had a plan. That night, the little girl made sure she was absolutely silent and tiptoed to the front door. Curiosity came over her, and she pushed all of her worries out of her mind and just went for it. The cold air seeped through her clothes, and she started to shiver. She wandered the streets of her village but didn’t see anything. She was about to give up, when she felt something near her ear and turned around to see what it was. That’s when she saw it: a face right in front of hers. She felt something tugging her forward, and she collapsed on the ground. Her dad found her there the next morning. “Lizzy!” he shouted. “I’ve been worried

Sunshine was pouring out from in between the buildings, casting shadows all around Ponyboy and the gang as they walked to Pony’s school. They were taking their time walking down the streets and for the first time they all were really seeing what was all around them. Memories were surfacing in their minds showing them what it all meant to them. With every step they took on the sidewalk they remembered a different memory as if they were walking down memory lane. Ponyboy didn’t think it was possible for him to be walking down this street for the last time as a high school student, but he had gone through the years with great grades that earned him many scholarships.
I comfortably drive my car into the desolate street, Perusing the deserted buildings, Smashes windows and rusted For Sale signs. The car locked up like Fort Knox. I observe the street for trouble. Two young boys look at me from afar as if I'm an alien. Do I stand out that much same greasy hair, expensive clothes, a smart car I suppose I am out of my comfort zone? “Mister, you don’t belong here” his hand gripped his switch. “Pony.... Ponyboy Curtis” I stammer “I live here or at least I did, I'm here to see two-bit’ The Boys turn around “geez his old now” the boy's chirp. The boys stroll away in awe that they saw the great Ponyboy.
Back in the main level of the factory, Wolf and Fox find Hawk lying on the ground, pale and unresponsive, his bulletproof vest next to him and the edges of a red stain showing around a wad of gauze. A soldier that Fox assumes is N-Unit's medic kneels next to him, along with Snake and Coyote. The three medics are talking frantically among themselves. The rest of N-Unit hovers nervously nearby; the rest of H-Unit is nowhere to be seen. Dust particles dance through the beams of sunlight from the holes where windows used to be, giving the whole scene a strangely dreamy air.
Whoever that is, was it so obvious that she was torn? Dizzy wondered if it was just Fallen that might notice or if she were wearing some damned sign or something. Maybe it was a guess, or nothing at all, Dizzy had no idea but she didn't want to dwell on it. Not when she had something that actually made her happy right in front of her. "Well anyone after any part of you will have to go through me." she spoke with a real amount of censarity in her words before a shiver ran down her spine.
Good. I touch the icon and drag it. Oh, it’s following my finger’s movement. Alright, let’s see… I drag it to the slot that indicates my right hand. Immediately, the bokutõ shows up on my hand with a quick white light.
The cold winter breeze hit her skin as she stepped out of the warm truck, ordinarily, she immediately wrapped her arms around the black coat attempting to keep her warm, as she was freezing from the sudden temperature change from the truck into the chilly air. Looking back to the sled being drawn out of the back of the truck, then she turned around and her eyes landed on the Rocke’s house, their close family friends. Gazing briefly at her parents one last time, ran to the door of the house, ready to get out of the cold momentarily.
“Anything that can help us find out who did this.” I said, examining the crime scene. I walked towards what used to be the glass case that held the crown, but was now a useless, shattered cube.
Carol walked down the street holding her boyfriend, Henry's hand. As they walked Carol turned to Henry, "I need a jacket for the music festival." " Let's go to that vintage store over there," she said pointing to the store on the corner. "Okay, it looks a little creepy though", he hesitantly sighed. They walked across the street to the store. The sign above the store read "Dare For More". Then, a woman walked out with a bag that appeared empty. The door screeched shut, then screeched open as Carol grabbed it. The couple walked around for a while looking at things that looked over used. They stopped at an old dusty box that appeared as if it had not been touched in years.
There was a teenage boy there, and something told her she had to warn him. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered what she was protecting him from. She’d buzz near his ear & he’d swat her away. She continued to try and warn him of some unknown danger, but to no avail. The boy would look up at her eventually, they’d make eye contact, and she’d wake up.
He must have came to the school to pick me up and seen that I walked away with Corban. “What do you want Kamric!” “I am here to take you back to the cellar. You need to be punished for not going to the farm right after school” he said in a weird voice. “I will not go back into that cellar it is horrible down there” I say bout to cry. “Well you will go back down there if you like it or not. You are nothing but a dirty little slut. No one will ever love you or what to be around you. I hope that you end up dieing before you ever find someone that will love you” he said is a sick voice. “I will never go back in that dark place. You know that there are evil things that happen down there” Lucky says with anger.
Mia was stunned, Lizzie was Mia’s neighbor and always played with her hair and treated her like a little sister. Everyday Mia would play outside and wait for Lizzie to come home from school. Even though Lizzie was 16 and in high school, she always enjoyed playing with Mia. Mia hugged Mr. Monkey close to her chest, with fear in her eyes. Lizzie soon ran out of the house her heart beating fast, thud, thud, thud.
Like long lost memories, the gentle wind blew across the wide, empty fields. Long grasses swayed where snarled barbed wire and brandished bayonet had once been displayed and poppies died the guilty land as blood stains an assassin's hands. Between the endless lines of tomb stones a lone figure walked. His brow is furrowed and stern and his countenance unchanging as the ageless guardians who stand at attention side by side. His feet direct him along the rows of graves among the shifting shadows cast by the sinking sun. Now he pauses before a cross unmarked and undistinguished from its companions. Engraved within ageless face are the initials A.F. Harold stood before the cross, his hand raised in salute, his countenance in stone. After a few
As I walked through the front door to my house, I headed for my room to start my homework. About two hours later my mom called up to me, “Alex, come down and eat!”. Since the invasions have been going on, you either talked about the invasion all the time or you tried not to talk about them at all. My family and I fell into the second category. But today I decided to break the
"Calum you 're going to hit the girl stop!" Michael yelled out as I instantly stepped on the breaks causing the car to come at a full halt. Right in the center of the road was where a girl sat with her head turned at us and what appeared to be her pupils dilated. Her hair was a complete mess, and her clothes looked like rags frosted with dirt all over. I left the car walking up to her, with every step I took towards her she backed away from me, fear obtaining her eyes.
