Creative Writing: Keine's False Killing

The room is humid, filled past capacity with dozens of androgynous people known as the Keine, a group of assassins. They’re all milling about, skin grey and faces concealed with gas mask-esque covers. One of them pulls on a pair of rubber gloves, letting them snap around their wrists. This individual makes their way to the podium at the front of the room and stands there, depending on order to restore itself instead of just calling for silence. The Keine quiet down in waves until the room becomes a tepid ocean of grey individuals. “There is confirmation that the boy is in the tunnels. Do not kill him, as the High Council Member, Devoria, has requested him alive,” the being says. They sound almost bored with the entire event, contrasting greatly with the excited murmur that takes over the room. The grey ocean is thrown into turmoil as people talk to those to the left and right of them. The person at the podium does not say more and simply takes a step backwards into the shadow beneath a sconce on the wall. …show more content…
