The lifeless grey walls affect me right away, making my stomach turn. I continue to walk around the corner, feeling a slight pulse in my ears. “ Have a seat here. “ the officer points to the end stool near the white painted wall. I drag my feet as I walk to the sit stool that connects to the dividing wall, and face the glass. On the other side of the glass is a empty chair that will soon to be filled with many things. “ Remember that I can hear your conversation. “ the officer looked me cold into the eyes, I nodded my head and tried to not show that my hands are shaking. Moments later a woman in a beige clothing walks near the other side of the glass, with an officer not far behind. She sits down onto the chair in front of me and picks …show more content…
“ Hey, “ her thin lips barely moved “ What's wrong with yuh? “ she embarked with irritation.
“ I came here to, “ my voice stopped, as if the little man that works in my head cut the wire that made me talk. “ I-I came here to ask you why. “ I felt my pulse choking me as these words left my lips without my consent. “ Why what? “ she sat up off the limited edge given. I too, sat up straight, pushing my shoulders back, doing my best to prepare what was going to foretake. I did my best to shake off what seemed to be my best friend, fear. I swallowed down anything that could make me miss this moment. “ You know why. “ I said again, but this time with more confidence. Waiting for the women’s face to scrunch with anger, instead, her expression almost made me choke. Her fiery demon eyes were quickly doused in water. The brick wall like person I was just talking to swiftly changed into my mother. The woman I haven't seen in forever was all of a sudden right in front of me. “ Jake, “ she spoke softly, “ I don't know what happened that night. “ her lip began to quiver and her eyes were glued to mine. Is this women in front of me a criminal or my mother? “ I don't even remember killing him…” her voice began to be covered by sobs, “ I loved Liam and, “ she choked, “ William. “. She put her head into her hands and sobbed. I don't even know what to do. A answer that deserves salvation...and she doesn't know? “ How do you
After saying goodnight to Simon and Magnus, Clary quickly shut the door to the library. The hallway was silent and still as the ocean tide, she had heard Lilian call for her just as her best friends in the world told her their goodbyes for the night. Magnus had conjured up a portal which would take him and Simon back to the village where they lived. Simon lived in a simple but modest house, on the outskirts of town, on a farm with his Mother and older sister. Magnus however, resided in a small, comfortable loft just above the local clothing store.
After John harnessed the team to the wagon, he, Charity, and Charles loaded Uriah into it. She and Charles then headed to town with him. She left John and Martha Jane to watch over the younger children, with strict orders that they had all better be on their best behavior until her return. John was nearly twelve; she figured he ought to be capable of watching the little ones.
Drenched and frozen, only the warmth from their mothers’ kept the young creatures sustained. The trees’ limbs hung low from the weight of the swampy atmosphere; causing the joyous ambience of the forest to restrain her passion.
I quickly woke up to the sounds of loud sirens, I have no idea what is going on as I try to regaining my position. I'm noticing my hands are cuffed as I start to quickly realize what is going on. I start to frantically panic as my eyes finally adjust to my surroundings. I see that I'm clearly in the back of a cop car. I observed that the police officer is seeing that he is periodically looking in the rear view mirror then back to the road. I irrationally start to spit out nonsense before I solidly ask him in a shaky voice, “w-w-whats going on, why am I in here?” He looks back at me, giving out a quick chuckle, “oh you clearly know what you did darling, don't act innocent.” I then reply back, quickly giving him a confused stare “n-no
The cops showed up at my house yesterday, with the buried shotgun. Drunk me is a bigger idiot than sober me is, that’s for sure. I don’t know why I decided to bury the shotgun with Sheriff Senn, maybe I wanted to leave a present for the man who left me. I do think that the shotgun belonged there, buried in the woods, resting with the memory of the man who brought it to life. I recount all of my escapades with my father, and mother as I’m sitting in the Herkimer County Sheriff’s office. The place seems to have a silent air to it, from the loss of it’s fallen leader. Here is where I start to wonder about Sheriff Senn himself, did he have a wife and kids? Did I take him away from the people that loved him the most? Now I’ve given someone the grief that I felt when I lost my mother. How could I do that? I don’t know why but, a sick feeling of power came over me, knowing that I could toy, and play with people’s emotions like that. Some officer unknown to me grabs me by the shirt collar and jerks me up. “C’mon Steele, we’re going to the back” he snarls, handling me as if I’m a stray dog, mangy and unwanted. I’ve always seen interrogation rooms in cop shows, but when you’re actually in one, it’s a lot scarier. “Reese Jacques Steel,” says Deputy Cross entering the room, “6’5, 215 lbs., Blonde hair, Green eyes, you’re the one aren’t you?” “R.J. Steele, in the flesh sir,” I replied,
Sue froze where she stood, frozen for what must have felt like hours. “You mean, he waited all of this time to paint his masterpiece and not only did he paint it for me but – he used his life to paint it.” Sue was overwhelmed at the thought, she was the reason Mr. Behrman had gone out that night, she was the reason he had passed away. “I caused his demise, my own selfishness did this!” Sue cried. Johnsy quickly took hold of Sue’s hands and said to her: “No darling, you did just the opposite, you showed Mr. Behrman what he had been looking for, for these years. You inspired his masterpiece!” Understanding then that Mr. Behrman’s sacrifice for her, was no sacrifice at all, his dream had been fulfilled and he had continued his journey. At that
The arena was jammed packed; it's occupants attention directed straight towards the stage. They were awaiting a man. A man who would fall in their midst soon, but a man they wanted to see nonetheless. On this stage, there were two red curtains on each side and the floor was lined with redwood. The arena itself had a theater like build to it. In the suburbs of Philadelphia, a venue of this sorts carried a sort of perplex bewilderment to it. It's presence in the city was admired, but at the same time gave a peculiar feel to the residents nearby. It was a like a shining Cathedral in a poverty ridden city; like a single Skyscraper in a agricultural landscape. It didn't quite fit it.
I was shuffled into a white room with two stainless steel chairs facing each other across a table that was bolted to the floor. They told me to just sit down and wait. After a couple of minutes I watched as an Officer came in. He had a red folder in his hands. “What am I doing here?” I asked as he sat down. He didn’t say anything just sat down, opened the folder and took out what looked like pictures. “What are those?” I tried talking again.
I didn’t know why that man looked so familiar. He scared me a little. Why had he ran into the street? Why had he screamed why? It all was clogging my brain. I was scared and didn’t want Emma’s family to have to go through it with me. I quickly went over to Emma and saw that she was sound asleep. I grabbed my shoes and left her
You are each person that is seen. The officer. The prisoner. The lawyer. Each personality twisted and warped into one body. You see the interrogation underway. Arguments ensuing without an end in sight. You are unable to control the situation behind the glass. Knowing you can't see through the aluminum powder to see the "You" that is out of view.
At the beginning of time, there existed one realm. In it there lived happiness and anguish, joy and pain, and success and failure. These emotions and characteristics were deep and rich. From this world emerged 2 beings, Masculum and Femina, born unto opposite sides in this vast world. The man was found among valleys and mountains, in a land of physical hardship and immense trials of strength and agility. He was forced to be strong in body, and aggressive, as wild animals and plant life sought to destroy him to eradicate his superior form. The woman was born in a land among clever serpentine creatures, foraging beasts, and changing landscapes that required quick thinking. Thus, the attributes of men and women were formed.
Anna dropped on the hard wood floor, her bed sheets following her. Suddenly, the softballs on the shelf came tumbling down. Her face turned red hot as she gave a cursory glance at Matt.
The scar is red and ugly, the scabs huge and several blood clots litter my face: some are colored black, others blue, green, or purple. I cried silent tears until a Guard beat the tears out of me. Julia looks at me with scorn and Mark does what he can to comfort me, but nothing works. What would I do when school starts? I will be humiliated and teased constantly.
“Do you know where I found these Mr. Saeed? They were in your camera which you were taking to Pakistan. Now tell me. Why did you take these pictures of the World Trade Center?”
Bye-bye. Jacy thought, guess I’ll see you around old house. I grabbed the last box from the house and left out the door dropping the keys off with the landlord who was standing outside of our door. I hustled to the moving truck, dropping off the box and shutting the back doors. As my mom and I left the driveway I waved out the window to lucy- the landlord who has been our landlord since I was born. (14 years ago)- and I turned around, placing my headphones on my head. My mom (who was driving) rolled her eyes.
