Creative Writing: Persecution

I woke up in a cold sweat. Don’t do this to yourself again, I told myself. He’s gone. He doesn’t want you, he chose her. I still remember the day you told me you loved someone else. I can still feel my face fall and hear my heart break. I wanted to hate you, but I wanted to hate her even more. But I couldn’t make myself hate either of you, especially not the person who once brought me so much happiness.

"Wake up, partners," the trail boss, James called. I sleepily looked up , shivered, and saw I was the only one not up. "Here," James said, giving me the horses' bridles and saddles. "Take these and get the horses ready. We have a long day today." I groaned in reply and set up the horses for the day's long drag. I was the horse wrangler and this was my everyday job but I still couldn't get use to the idea of waking up before the sun and working. We drove the cattle into open plains against the winter's cold wrath.

Back in the main level of the factory, Wolf and Fox find Hawk lying on the ground, pale and unresponsive, his bulletproof vest next to him and the edges of a red stain showing around a wad of gauze. A soldier that Fox assumes is N-Unit's medic kneels next to him, along with Snake and Coyote. The three medics are talking frantically among themselves. The rest of N-Unit hovers nervously nearby; the rest of H-Unit is nowhere to be seen. Dust particles dance through the beams of sunlight from the holes where windows used to be, giving the whole scene a strangely dreamy air.

Purgatory: A place where the most malignant/hazardous fiends are jailed due to their assailments on the human race. Their thirst for human blood still lingered within them, even after centuries of being caged in Purgatory. They probed everywhere for a way out of the illimitable, gloomy, foggy forest and rivers; killing themselves and others with hunger and insanity. Once a fiend is in, it’s nearly impossible to get out without a Reaper’s or Knight’s scythe.

You used to think the philosophy 'you only live one' is the most ridiculous excuse for justifying everything you've ever heard of - if you're meant to be reckless and live as fast as you can, 'there's a million and one ways to die' sounds much nicer. Explore them. Investigate them. Enjoy them. Cherish everyone of them, especially that split second between when you lean back in your chair and it hangs midway in air so close the the ground that the only thing you can think of is 'that is it.'

I woke up on the couch, screaming with tears running down my face. I tried to stop yelling, but I couldn’t. If I didn’t stop yelling Sebastian will wake up and then Lin and Vanessa will wake up and be furious with me. Suddenly, I hear footsteps coming from Lin and Vanessa’s room. Oh no, I woke one of them up, I quickly covered my mouth. I must look crazy, a teenage girl sitting on a couch disgustingly sobbing with her hand gripping her hand over her mouth tightly. The person who came out the Lin and V’s room was finally in front and I recognized the person as Vanessa. She sat next to me and swiftly encompassed me into a comforting cuddle position.

Strutting through the familiar, gate worn by time, I spread my arms, taking in the saccharine aroma of the fresh grass. The remaining glimmers of the sun glisten on every blade that peeks through the moist soil, composing a sea of sparkling beauty, only comparable to a poem. The meadow is breathtaking this evening, as the sun sets behind the trees in the distance, leaving a glow of pinks, peaches, ambers, and crimsons behind as if a bowl of fruit had exploded in the sky.

With the population of exactly twenty five thousand people, the city of Corpus was never over populated. Neighborhoods were packed with just the right amount of people and there was always just enough to go around. Aiden had only turned two when he lost his older brother, Landon. It was not because he had been in an accident or unfortunately got passed a cancer gene. However, the reason for his death was never revealed to Aiden for he was too young at the time to understand. Then some of people noticed a new guest, dress as a clothes of the Red Death. Everyone was freaking out because of him. When Prince Prospero saw this guy, he became angry and asked courtiers to seize him and unmask him. But no one have the courage to do it, including Prospero himself. The Red Death walked through the rooms, heading toward the black room. Prospero chased him with taking his dagger. Prospero reached the edge of the dark room, the Red Death suddenly turned to face him, and Prospero fell on the ground and dead. "Then, summoning the wild courage of despair, a throng of the revelers at once threw themselves into the black apartment, and, seizing the mummer, whose tall figure stood erect and motionless within the shadow of the ebony

It was a very hot day in the middle of August, one that was so oppressively humid that the air felt like a blanket, which was why Lillie Everette, momentarily confused, awoke because she remembered kicking the sheets off her bed in the middle of the night. She yawned, then got dressed excitedly. She needed get ready for the Hide and Seek game that was starting soon. She had promised her friends that she wouldn’t sleep through this one like she had for the last game. She was about to run through her front door when she hears her parents talking.

At most stations, this meant standing around awkwardly and waiting to be sent to the next station, but at Camp Feenicks, participants eliminated were sent to a separate tent with Pop Tarts, Goldfish, and a much needed break from making critical decisions. This break was beneficial and well received by everyone who ended up in the tent as Phoenix Simulation can be a physically and mentally taxing experience for those fully immersed in the experience. In addition to this vital relaxation, those eliminated were still able to be a part of the announcements of who was being eliminated and watch how the decisions of those in the simulation were affecting the camp overall. This kept the theme of causes and effects strong in the students’ mind, even as they were devouring

Emma walked along the hot ground with her friend, Ebony. “Should I even walk this way or not?” thought Emma, “I should really tell Ebony. No, I won’t tell her.” The sun shone down, rabbits and lizards scurried, and birds flew. “Great,” said Ebony, “Just great. Our car breaks down and we don’t have any supplies. We’ll die out here.” Emma stopped and retorted, “Calm down, we’ll set camp here and see how to get back tomorrow.” They walked on with the torrid sun hitting their heads. Night fell and Emma and Ebony decided to set camp. “Set this tent here,” said Emma, “put this here and that goes there…” Ebony watched and said, “I’ll cook the food stuff, I guess.” It became pitch dark, wind came through, and all the two girls had was a small tent, some blankets, a change of clothes, meals for two times, and some other small items. “It’s freezing cold!” exclaimed Ebony, “We’ll freeze to death.” Emma scowled and said, “Shut up! Stop your complaining and let me sleep. We’ll discuss this in the
