Most people don’t know the backstory of one of the first African American women to help the first space launch. Katherine Johnson was one of them. My story isn't quite special really, although I have lived under some unique circumstances. My mother was a single parent raising my little sister and I until she married my Stepdad in 2007. I was five at the time and had no father figure until then. From that time on he became my dad. Our new family moved twice before living in a small city where we stayed for 6 years. This is where I made close friends, achieved academic excellence, went to church regularly, life was great or so I thought. What seemed to be our perfect life was turned upside down as hard times fell upon us. I was now the oldest of five younger siblings, my mom wasn't healthy, and my dad had to struggle to keep things going.
Everything is perfectly fine, everything is great, then one day it all comes crashing down and shattered pieces are left. My life would never be the same but I guess change is for the best and it forced me to become the person I am today. It’s rough to be the oldest child, especially when your mom is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and you have 3 younger sisters that look to you for comfort when their mom can’t be there. When the cancer is spread throughout your moms body doctors can’t just get rid of it no matter how badly you wish they could. Rounds of chemotherapy only slow it down, yet it’s still there a lurking monster waiting to reappear at any given moment. Nothing can even begin to describe the fear I felt, and still have to deal

In the glass castle, Jeannette Wells lives with such parents that she was much of the time homeless. She had no idea that her father’s drinking abuse was so wrong, or that living in such run down homes with animals that came and go could be seemed as unfit for a family with children. So young, with her three siblings, they wouldn’t know at the time they were being treated poorly by the people they believed loved them the most. Scroungy and dirty, but tough from living in such horrible conditions as a child. Growing up has shown difficulty for the young girl.
Slapping the school's bad boy is just another one of the embarrassing things Octavia Moore has to add to her list.

As time goes on, careers become more reliant on the advancement of technology than the hands on work of the job holder. However, for Chuck Jones, that was not the case. Chuck Jones, a cartoon director and animator, has provided entertainment for all ages throughout the past eight decades and has been a magnate for many aspiring animators. The Animation of Chuck Jones exhibit at the Minnesota Historical Society displayed Chuck Jones's work throughout his career as well as original production notes, which are inscribed on his hand drawn sketches. Chuck Jones’s cartoons have been praised for his reliance on using action to communicate his story and characters. Jones’s animations do not contain large amounts of dialogue and do rely on gestures,

Whenever good things surround me, bad things always come around. The most memorable one was the time when my brother and I graduated college together (my first course before I ladderized it). Everyone was happy and everything was going well for the family, then a month after the graduation, the tides quickly turned around and my mother’s sickness got worse, she got admitted to the ICU in a hospital for a month and a half, everything quickly turned around so fast, financial shortcomings came and everyone was in a state of panic, shock and fear. Then came the month of June, my mother got well for a few weeks, sense of relief was felt by everyone. I finally got to continue my education together with my friends, I thought that everything was turning back to normal then while I was at school fixing my class schedule, my father called me and.. You already know what happened. It left the whole family feel miserable, mostly my father and our eldest brother who was working abroad. I realized that life isn’t cruel, it’s just
The winter of 1998, in Oakhurst, California is when my Father went to a job interview and my parents first met. From that moment on their future together began together, first it was dating, then marriage, then adventure and then children. After 4 years of being married my parents decided to start a family and have children (this is where I come into the story). I was the first child of the family, so the week before my due date my parents decided to go on one last date before they had kids. Little did my mom know, that at six am the next morning, she would be rushed to the hospital and begin the process of having a baby. October 5th, 2003 at six fifteen pm in Kirkland, Washington, I was born. My parents new I was going to be a girl so they already had my name picked out. When my parents were choosing names, they wanted my name to start with L, because almost every female in my family has a name beginning with L. They also wanted my name to sound beautiful in English, French, and Italian, since I was half Italian and half French. After a few weeks of thinking my Father finally found the perfect name, Lydia Marie Gauvin.
¨Life’s a song. Sing it.” I began singing my song on May 6, 2006. I was the second child born out of three. I was born at the Silverdale hospital In Silverdale, Washington. The time my mother went to the hospital was 11:00 p.m. on May 5th. The time I was born was 10:03 a.m. on the 6th. My neighbor took care of my sister while my mother was in labor. My sister was one at the time and I am thankful that my neighbor let my sister stay with her. My parents named me Sydnee Joshephine Trogdon. Josephine after my grandmother, who’s eyes I also share. My first sentence spoken speaks volumes about the person I became. That sentence was “I do it”, because I am very strong-willed and like to be independent.
