So are speed limit's really necessary? Of course they are, those speed limits keep that other 69% of the 31% safe from server injuries and death, and if you get caught speeding that could cause you to get tickets. Getting a ticket isn't fun even if you only have to pay one hundred dollars on it, but just image haveing to pay thousands of dollars. An article was plublished in 2015 about a man who lived in Findland who was going about 65 mph in a 50 zone, when the cops pulled
While many action movies make a car chase look like a fun and exciting experience, two recent local incidents show the reality of trying to escape the police. In the first incident, which happened near Stoneville, police attempted to pull a man over for several miles before he finally stopped. A fight then ensued in which the man was shot and killed. In the second incident, police attempted to pull a motorcyclist over for speeding in Winston-Salem. In the process of trying to flee the police, the motorcyclist lost control, crashing into an unmarked police car. While it might be scary to see those flashing lights behind you, trying to flee the police could result in serious injuries to yourself or others. Instead of trying to escape the police,
My friend’s ticket for traveling five miles per hour over the speed limit is just one example of people who are given tickets for illegitimate reasons. As reported by New York Daily News, tickets have recently been issued for such things as sitting on a milk crate, and a teenage mom-to-be for sitting on a subway staircase to take a break from her afternoon commute home from work (Saltonstall).
The highest speed related fatality was recorded in the year 2012. This is because the 354 was the highest ever recorded in a single year. There was a slight increase from 2006 to 2007 but then speed related fatalities slightly decreased in 2008. From 2008 to 2010, speeding fatalities were on the rise until it dropped in 2011. From Fig B., 2015 recorded the lowest rate of speeding related fatalities. It should also be noted that speeding related fatalities have been slightly steady in 2013 and 2014 resulting in a very sharp decline.
A behavior that I would like to do less frequently would definitely be speeding. Almost every day that I drive my car, I constantly drive recklessly, which includes going over the speed limit or going in and out of traffic. California drivers are just too reckless for me and I would rather put the driving into my own hands versus another driver. I even went the route of buying another slower; luxury car and even that didn’t help me.
The horror stories continue to increase, the lives of the innocent are silenced in one moment, and no highways are safe to use to escape this trauma that has taken the country by storm. The trauma that has caused so many lives and so much tax money is drunk driving. Drunk-driving is not only dangerous for the driver of the vehicle, but also for the passengers and everyone in proximity of the driver 's path. If the penalties are raised for drunk-driving offenses, all of the horror stories of crashes on highways and the loss of innocent lives can be prevented and the frequency of other alcohol related criminal activities would decrease dramatically because the deterrence from the laws would be more effective and have a wider audience.
Five years ago, the Center for Controlled Disease (CDC) reported that 79.5% of college students are sexually active (The Daily Barometer Staff). Seeing that nearly all students are having sex, it seems plausible that every university would have the proper education and health resources to insure that students are being safe and smart in their activities. Declining to provide these resources is similar to letting an inexperienced driver take the wheel of a automobile. Most teens would jump at the opportunity to speed down the streets at first chance. But quickly after putting the car into drive, the excitement would soon fade as panic starts to kick in. This speeding driver, much like an uneducated sexually active college student, would not
Over the course of history, politicians have perpetually remain associated with the acts of greed, lying, and mischief. Portrayed in films, sung about and even written in novels. Even with the governments stern conditioning to keep the public believing in everyone remaining equal and treated fairly in court, facts presented over time have proven to show that politicians possess an upper hand. Elected officials and government workers are leading lives that one would call above the average citizen. Overlooking crime at the right moment if known to be an employee of high status. Many serious cases get a simple sentence, while everyday Americans can face far worse. The tangible get out of jail free card comes with a lifetime supply of justifications
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said an officer pulled over 62-year-old, Joy Feinberg, for speeding in a school zone. She was allegedly going 51 mph in a 20 mph zone. She did receive a ticket for $606 for driving like this, but what she said to the officer has shocked everyone. The sheriff's office actually shared a one minute clip from the stop on their YouTube channel.
Driving is a very hard thing to master. There are so many moving parts, and rules that you must follow. If the rules are not followed it could end up in serious injury and having to pay lots of money to fix damages. Speeding and stopping at red lights were two things that I had trouble with when I was younger. When you get in trouble for these things, you learn from them pretty quick.
No matter the age a person may be, his/her actions affect others; especially when they’re operating a vehicle capable of injuring or taking one’s life. Many people drive distracted which causes a serious issue. Drivers have to be more aware since distracted driving poses great risks to the driver’s life and others on the road as it increases the probability of a tragic accident. Numerous lives are being lost each day due to distracted driving and not abiding by the laws. In today’s society, people need to focus on driving as there has been an increase in the possibility of death; influenced by both alcohol and drugs in addition to technology.

Safety is a big issue when driving. Speed limits help insure everybody’s safety, that is why it is such a big deal to have speed limits.
If you can go to jail for drunk driving because it puts other people in
Over speeding has been among those moral hazards that have resulted in the yield of drastic outcomes. Despite extensive research and development on the subject, no notable reduction in the traffic accidents caused due to over speeding have been observed. According to studies, every time a driver exceeds the speed limit above the mean speed limit, the risk of casualty crashes increases significantly (CTBSSP, 2008). In cases where the speed of a vehicle is 10 km/h above the average speed limit of a particular road, the risk of crash literally doubles, while the risk is increased to six times as great when speeding 20km/h above the average speed limit. Studies have also concluded that an overall reduction of 41% can be observed if no driver increases the speed above the provided speed limits (Willis, 2006).
When people learn to drive sometimes it is hard to try and stop in time. Most people can do it but others have a tough time when they are not paying attention to what is going on around them. Braking distance is traveled before coming to a complete stop.
