Did you know that when you're smoking it has 200 chemicals? Well I figured that out in the wonderful class of D.A.R.E! DARE has been a great experience for me because I met new friends and I thought I was the only one that was interested until I heard people talking about how good dare is at resses and that's when I found out I was not the only one some people thought it was silly and others really like it. DARE has been a great opportunity because I learned a lot,I made my own decisions, Now i'm prepared for my life ahead of me. During our lesson I learned more and More about why drugs are bad for you and your body and that you should not be around people that take drugs and that's smoking because you could get in trouble even if you didn't …show more content…
So if you wanted to answer a question it had to be your decision or your hole groups decision so either way you put your own thought into the question and in the beginning of class each day we do this thing where you have to say what we did the week before if you go it right you got daren the lion and it helps you to say what you want so you can remember it's harder to remember when you didn't say anything and you made your partner do all the work.
When we first started D.A.R.E I thought I wouldn't need to learn about it till we heard a policeman was in charge and we all started to get more interested each day Officer Trap was the policeman and he made it interesting and when we got done with the lesson we watched a video the video either had a problem or the problem was solved but those videos always got me thinking i'm so glad we had this class because I'm now ready for the life ahead of me and I say to myself I can't make those bad mistakes but those mistakes always happens but when that mistake comes I will be prepared
Thank you all so much for listening and I hope you enjoyed me reading this to
In DARE, we learned a lot of information about how to deal with bad situations in our lives. I plan to use the strategies we learned in DARE
“Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases.” –Hippocrates, 460-377 BC. If a Greek physician could make this statement over 2300 years ago, why is it such an under-exposed theory today? As stated in Chiropractic First, written by Dr. Rondberg, a chiropractor of 35 years and founder of the “Chiropractic Journal,” Hippocrates “believed that only nature could heal and it was the physician’s duty to remove any obstruction that would prevent the body from healing” (8-9). These “physicians” are called chiropractors today, and their goal is to remove subluxations, the displacement of two or more spinal disks that causes
Say no to drugs! Goggle search said “Drugs are one of the top causes of teen deaths and suicides in the United States.” Drugs have been around for years and each year the death rates and suicide rates have increased dramatically especially in teen students. This is why it is very important that parents teach their kid at an early age about drugs. The Teachers and school staff are trying their best to teach the kids that drugs are not cool. The schools think it is best that all Middle School Students should be drug tested. The drug-testing program serves as a deterrent for middle school students that are encountering drugs of all kinds, including steroids, alcohol and marijuana.
On May 2, 2012, the National Football League lost one of its elite players to suicide: Junior Seau. Seau played for the Chargers, Dolphins, and the Patriots during his professional football career and was a 12-time Pro Bowler before retiring in 2009. Three years after his retirement however, Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest with a gun. This greatly shocked the football world and its image of Junior Seau as a person, but it soon realized the cause for his action. Shortly after Seau’s death, researchers examined Seau’s brain and found that it contained a disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy which is formed
I will explain something that I have learned in dare class. The topics I chose was alcohol, D.A.R.E and the resistance strategies. I will explain the three things that I have learned in the 10 weeks I had to learn these things.
Royalton High School follows a 7 period day schedule, 50 minutes class periods, typically 5 days a week beginning at 8:15am and ending at 3:22pm. A regularly scheduled day consists of seven four minute passing periods and a 15 minute homeroom at the end of the day. Homeroom is not considered as a scheduled class, and even though it is not required, it is still beneficial to many students. The sole purpose of homeroom is to inform students of extracurricular activities, scholarships and college visits, the announcements, and reduce class absences.
It’s been a pleasure to spend time with Officer Trapp every Friday at D.A.R.E. He has taught us so much, and I have taken some very valuable lessons from that. D.A.R.E. has been a great experience for me, because I learned about drugs, making decisions, and new vocabulary words.
The Drug Free Trader Card Senior Program allowed me to not only be a role model but a leader to the elementary students. As a member of Drug Free Trader Card Seniors, I was given stickers that stated "I pledge to be drug free." I was to explain and give the students who accepted the pledge a sticker. Even though the students were young when I explained that to be drug free is to not put anything in your body that will harm you they remained interested and yearned to know more. As a role model who accepted the pledge, I felt that it was important to explain to them what they are pledging to before they took the pledge. After explaining what the pledge meant I was expecting very few student to want to accept the pledge with a sticker. I was flabbergasted when students continuously kept rushing up to me begging for a sticker. Throughout the day all types of students approached me and told me stories and wanted to know as much about me as they could. They asked to take pictures with me. It was as if they looked up to me like I had once looked up to previous Drug Free Seniors, when I was in their position. Throughout the day I had a sense of empowerment and gratitude grow over me because I helped so many children begin the path of being drug free, like previous members did for
D.A.R.E has teached me and my classmates a lot about how bad some drugs are for us and to not take them. Officer trapp is the best D.A.R.E teacher. Officer trapp has teached me how to be a better citizen to not smoke or take drugs. Here are some other things that i learned in D.A.R.E.
DARE is important because it can lead you in the right direction. DARE isn’t just about drugs and health. Its also about good skills like communication and good ways to react. Many people lack those skills.
Have you ever done D.A.R.E.? Well I have and Officer Trapp has been the greatest D.A.R.E. officer ever! He does astonishing things in D.A.R.E. and he can be really amusing things. I love D.A.R.E. so much. Three things I learned in D.A.R.E. are: I learned about smoking and alcohol and why not to use them, I learned how to make big decisions, and ‘id know what to say if I get asked for drugs and alcohol.
Have you ever been to D.A.R.E ? Dare is amazing you get to learn how to make your own decisions , prepare yourself when you get older, and most importantly we have fun. Dare has been such a great experience for me because we get to learn how to make our own decision, prepare myself when I get older, and we have fun.
I have learned about Resistance Strategies and about Stress and lots of other amazing things. Dare is a fun way of learning about not doing drugs and drinking alcohol. Dare doesn't just talk about that it also talks about how to say no to drugs and about how bad stress can be and how scary it is. My mom sometimes gets stress and has to have my grandma to come over. Dare can help you so much when you get older.
In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
In D.A.R.E I learned that Dare means: Define Assess Respond Evaluate and that is what dare means.
