Hero’s come in many different perspectives. Some might view a hero as the fictional super heroes. Other’s consider hero’s to be modern day people. Some qualities of a hero are someone who is courageous, brave, and kind. A hero is a person who is admired for their courageous acts and achievements. They never give up even when times get hard. It’s more about the hero taking a stand for what they believe is right. Taking a stand counts more than winning.

For some people, being a hero or having heroic attributes includes zooming in with super speed to save to city from a monster, but in reality there are no aliens or super powers. A hero is someone who puts others needs before theirs, like Elie Wiesel in Night. Sometimes people aren’t considered heroes, but have heroic attributes like Hans in Journey to the Center of the Earth. Heroes like George Washington are heroes who are also leaders. Although many heroes are considered heroes, some are just put in situations where they must be heroic in order to survive.

What Characteristics do you think about when you describe a hero? Usually people think about selflessness, Bravery, and Confidence. A person doesn't have to have superpowers, super strength, or the ability to fly to be a hero. One Modern day hero is President Barack Obama the 44th President of America and also the first African American President. Like President Obama, Beowulf Leader of the Geat warriors he is headsmart and a strong leader. Although The two heros Live in two different time periods and only on is a warrior. Beowulf and President Obama are both Courageous.

There are many defining qualities that a hero must display. Hero’s don’t need to be stereotyped as one who jumps off tall buildings to save people, or dressed up in fancy costumes. Hero’s however, all have a few things in common. In general, a hero is usually defined by a combination of qualities including moral integrity, mental acuity, a spirit of self-sacrifice, and determination. Importantly, a hero's abilities must be employed for a good cause, usually the protection of the weak.

Heroes do extraordinary things and often tend to be people or figures we place on a pedestal whom often have made inspirational sacrifices (Allison and Goethals 24-25). Heroes as courageous, selfless and skillful humanitarians. They can be extraordinary athletes or even someone who gives the gift of time and or sacrifice (Allison and Goethals 26-30). Fictional heroes are described as self-confident, suave, extremely virtuous, and attractive.

What characteristics do you consider a hero to possess? Do they have to r risk their lives helping others or can they be a regular person living a typical life? I live with a hero, Robert White. I have known Robert since December 2002. He is an everyday “average Joe” hero in an extremely modest and contemporary way. He maintains some of the attributes that pertain to a hero. Robert is compassionate, hard working, and empathic.

There are many examples of heroes throughout history, some real and some fake. The news often broadcast stories of a seemingly normal bystander rescuing a victim from a burning building or overturned car. As a child, you might have read comic books depicting a muscular man in a cape flying around a city rescuing people from an evil villain. When most people hear the word “hero” they most likely image this very person. Whether real or fake, all these people share similar qualities and traits that lead to them being characterized as a hero.

Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.

People can show heroism in many ways and one of them is being brave. For example, In the article “Soldier home from after losing his leg in Afghanistan” Tristan Segers was being very brave,“I just kept telling the doctors that I didn’t want my life to be different than it was before. Of course, the loss of a leg changed me. But it doesn’t define me or the rest of my life.”(Fiege 58). This shows that's Tristan Segers is a hero because he lost a leg while fighting for his country. Another example is, In the article “A Man”, a veteran who has lost his arm “fighting for his country” is now being braver than ever,“He set himself to do everything with twice as much enthusiasm.”(56). This shows that after the veteran lost his arm fighting for his country, he wanted to stop being sad, and he wanted to live his life to the fullest.

To begin with bravery is a quality that most definitely defines what a true hero is. The poem “Barbara Frietchie” it states “Bravest of all in Frederick town, She took up the flag then men hauled down”. In this poem, it talks about a very brave old lady named Barbara Frietchie who kept her country’s flag hung outside her window. Despite soldiers already taking down the flag once she still hangs it with pride. In Gale Feige’s article it talks about a brave soldier names Tristan Segers who had lost his leg in Afghanistan. In the article, it states “Segers wears shorts in the warm summer weather, not even hiding his prosthetic leg”. This is extremely brave because even though he must wear a prosthetic leg he is brave enough to wear shorts and show his prosthetic leg.

When deveopling ones own opinion of who is a hero, things that are considered usually consist of the quialities including bravery, selflessness, humility, someone who is a visionary, someone with care, and one who is inspring to

When we think of heroes most of us think of movie stars or professional athletes, but it’s not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What does make a hero a hero? Is it there looks? Alternatively, maybe is it their personality? However, the question is what are those essential qualities that make one a hero? Different people require different heroes to look up to or try to emulate. However, whoever it may be, they all possess certain qualities. My hero is my mother, for the reason that she is selfless, compassion, and courage. That kind of selflessness can often be premeditated, since concentrating on others' needs often winds up helping one accomplish one’s own goals. However, a heroic leader does so without any anticipation of a return. The display and concern show the care one has for others. This can often apparent itself in strong but gentle actions planned to increase the lives of others. Courage and bravery come to mind first when we think of heroism. However, it is difficult to achieve anything truly heroic unless one is up against overwhelming chances. As Nelson Mandela put it, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it." These minor acts of heroism rarely attract any notice. A true hero is always sympathetic, benevolent and shows a great deal of compassion and sympathy to those poorly or in agony. He or she keeps away judgements; that are oriented to the self and embraces an attitude that serves others.

These soldiers leave their families and risk their own lives to defend their country. Another example, I find that exemplify the nature of heroism are police and firefighters. I believe that they are heroes because they to risk their lives to save others. Finally, my final example that I believe exemplify the nature of heroism is Stephen Hawking. I find him a hero because of what he has become. For some who don't know Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) at the age of 21. The disease had caused him to become paralyzed. However, that didn't stop him to at all. Now he's the most known English Theoretical Physicist in the world and he continue to be.
