If you would like to live a happy and more so, successful life, it is vital that you learn to express gratitude wherever you go. In order to reach where you would like to be in life, everyone should concentrate on their goals and objectives. Through expressing gratitude, people can learn to show good deeds, and hence be able to receive the same goodness, in return. (Radwan, Msc.) Gratitude refers to the act of being thankful, noticing simple pleasures, counting every little blessing, and acknowledging every good done unto you. In other terms, it can be described as living life as if everything happening in it is a miracle, and being able to continuously acknowledge every much you receive. On the other hand, when people decide to concentrate a lot of energy on bad things in life, it will make them remain in the state of conflict. But by developing gratitude, it will allow someone to focus on positivity and the good things in life. It must be understood that this will allow an individual to always remain optimistic, and with enthusiasm much success can be achieved.
People tend to feel the most happiness in their daily lives rather than happiness over all. For instance, if someone opens the door for you, does something outrageous, tells a funny story or simply reacts kindly to you, you can experience happiness. Laughing at someones joke can cause you to feel happy even for just a moment. Another definition of happiness in our daily lives is self appreciation such as, getting that new raise, getting an A on a test or even getting into the college you want. These examples all cause happiness in different but still rather large ways. We seem to think that happiness is so difficult to come by, we focus so hard on what happiness is that we don't even realize the simple things in life that are truly making a difference. We can become significantly happy without even noticing. Although happiness seems like it’s hard to find it’s not all that difficult. What’s hard to come by is the feeling of genuine happiness ; genuine happiness is what people truly look for.

Often having happiness is finding the key to life. Happiness is the ability to make one’s life full of joy and success. In the “Death of a Salesman”, “The Great Gatsby”, and “The Devil’s Advocate”, the protagonists in the movies seem to yearn for happiness and success in their lives. Although success may be the ultimate goal to achieving happiness, it does not always lead us there. There are many obstacles people have to overcome, and sometimes happiness is not enough for some people. What is Happiness? In my opinion the simple definition word happiness is happy in your life. According to survey of Earth Colombia University the world’s happiest country was Finland which has a ratio of 7.6 on a scale of 10. On other hand least was Sub-Saharan Africa, which scored 3.4 out of 10. “Every soul on earth desires for unconditional happiness” (Bruce, p.g.7.). However, it is a subjective concept that has diverse interpretation when asked to different peoples. There is no measure of happiness that would answer standard of the people. The key to happiness is based on marriage and family, money and freedom.
Happiness is an internal feeling of the pleasure and joyful that comes from a thing that the person loves. All people want to feel happy and many of them seek for things that make them happy. However, there are two different opinions about how happiness comes. Many people find that it is choice that people can choose. On the other hand, some people think that happiness is a thing which people cannot control. Therefore, it is argued that because the contentment, the thoughts and the actions are things that the person can control and can bring to him the happiness.

Happiness means different things to different people and for this reason, I believe that the definition varies from person to person. My personal definition of what happiness is not is, putting others in control of your happiness by letting them make you feel that they make you happy because your kids are not going to make you happy, your spouse isn’t going to make you happy, a big house is not going to make you happy, own your own happiness and be responsible for doing those things that bring joy into your own heart, Independently of life, money and all of the materialistic things that don’t necessarily give you happiness.
