As a teenager he started to develop a sexuality toward men. He became the class clown and was outwardly a model student, very nice to adults and very polite to teachers. However, his sexual fantasies continued to traumatized him and drove him to drinking. Taking a psychoanalytic perspective his life began to mirror one of the three basic situations that result in crime. He was efficiently repressing his guilt and Id for his sexuality towards men, until it led to an “explosion” of acting out behavior. Right after he graduated from high school, the repression lead to his first kill. His desires which were held down for so long became so overwhelming that they overtook his superego and ego and ran wild. After killing his first victim soon after high school his killing spree that took the lives of seventeen people began and didn’t end until he was caught thirteen years later.

On January 15,1974 Dennis Rader killed Four members of the Otero family. This was his first kill. He waited long for the him to recognize his self with the family He has watched them enough to know what he is going to be dealing with. Than he came in their back door and strangled the family one by one. When he was finished he left through the front door. Later that night their 15 year old son from the otero family came home and discovered the bodies.(3). Rader fits the reason for a serial killer’s motivation. In a testimony in the book he states,” In court testimony many years later, he attributed the killings to sexual needs, and he apparently molested at least one of the females” (190). He also held traits connected to all serial killers.

Throughout his childhood Logan (Tachnechdorus) attained advantageous values and social etiquette. One particular influential ally was a Quaker identified as James Logan who not only provided Tachnechdorus with his name but also educated him until he befriended the future war leader . However, it was after one unprovoked fatal incident involving other settlers that Logan, who once considered the white people as his allies, quickly changed his opinion of them. Hostility erupted within this once diplomatic, unbiased and compassionate man. Recognizing the conflict among the two cultures became the major cause of Logan to take vengeance.

James J Walker is a man that is put down in history as one of New York City’s mayors. Still James J Walker had a darker side to him that the public didn’t witness. James J Walker better known as Jimmy Walker was born June 19, 1881. A young boy that grew up in poverty, not being a great student, and dropped out of college later was graduated from New York Law School in 1904 and later went into politics and joined the State Senate. After many years in the Senate, Jimmy set his sights in on the 1926 elections for Mayor of New York.

My favorite football player of all time is Rudy Ruettigar. He was born August22, 1948 into a family of 3 to gain to 14. He worked his hardest to be the best in his family and achieve all his goals. Rudy is the last football player to be carried off the field.In Rudys Elementary years he always watched Notre Dame on T.V. In high school and college, he worked to become a better football player.

Kevin VanDam was born October 14, 1967 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is happily married with 2 kids. He is 50 years- old and has been fishing 30 years that’s more than half his life he has been on the water. Kevin fished his “first tournament in 1987.”

Robert Alton Harris was born January 15th, 1953 in North Carolina. HIs mother, Barbara Harris was only six and a half months pregnant when she had to deliver Harris due to her husband kicking her in the stomach. Harris’s father accused Barbra of having an affair with another man and thought that the child was not his. So, in a drunk fir of rage, he pushed and kicked his wife, causing her to have to deliver Harris at onlysix and a half months. Barbara felt resentment towards Harris, and in turn began abusing him just as her husband abused her. While most of the nine Harris children were abused in the household, his siblings agreed that Robert was abused the most. As a child, Harris had a speech impediment, as well as a learning disability, Harris became a target for bullying in his school. Harris would come home from being teased at school, to being abused at home by his parents. Rader was known for sending taunting letters to police and newspapers. In his letters he would describe his killings in great detail. In his second letter, Rader demanded media attention. It was after this letter that it was finally announced that Wichita had a serial killer on the loose (Dennis Rader, 2017).

There were ten victims killed by Dennis Rader between 1974 and 1991, the first four of these being killed on one night. Rader created a nickname for himself the BTK killer; he chose this name because of the style in which he killed his victims, which involved binding, torturing and killing his female victims. He had many other aliases, most of which were self named. These included The Wichita Strangler, The Poetic Strangler and The Asphyxiater just to name a few. Rader talked about his need for acknowledgment and tormented the police by sending notes, poems, pictures and puzzles explaining his crimes in graphical detail. Dennis Rader, otherwise known as The BTK killer, was arrested in 2005 for the murder of 10 people. Rader began killing in 1974 by killing four members of the Otero family. The reason that Dennis Rader was called the BTK killer is because of the “Bind, Torture, Kill” technique. Dennis Rader began to write taunting letters and reporting his crimes, providing details that only the killer would know. In October of 1974 Rader placed a letter in a public library book where he took responsibility for the Otero family. In this letter Rader wrote that “it’s hard to control myself. You probably call me ‘Psychotic with asexual perversion hang-up’.” Then he went into details as to his urge to kill as a monster inside him. Lastly, he requested to be called the BTK Strangler.

Dennis rader is famous for BTK which is “Bind,Torture,Kill” which was his signature killing they identified him with. His first murder was committed in january 15, 1974 against the Otero family, he killed both Parents and Two children. Their oldest son who was 15 came home and found his family's bodies.

Dennis Rader began his behavior early on life. He began with the killing of animals and his fantasies. Rader is known as the “BTK Killer” which is because that’s what he was known for doing when he murdered people. He would bind them, torture them, and then kill them. Watching people plead or beg for mercy was all part of his fantasy.

Many people have heard of Dennis Rader, or more commonly known as B.T.K. Although that name was not used until later in life. Dennis Rader was born in 1945 here in Kansas. He grew up as your average boy, first of four children, lived life as we all do today. He was in boy scouts and also joined the youth group at their church.
