Fresh white snow falling from the sky, hitting my face as i walk through the bumpy road losing my mind. As walking through the road i look up to the sky and a bright light shines through my eyes. All of sudden i come back to reality, the flash of light was the street light while i was walking towards our red truck covered with snow. At the same time i'm walking and waving goodbye to my relatives from the small party they just had for their little daughter. Of course my parents taking long saying their goodbyes waiting by the door of the house. Suddenly, i hear my older sister, Yizel.
“Hey wait up! come grab me, i don't want to fall with these shoes!” Yizel yelling from behind me seeing her tall shadow on the ground coming closer towards me. “Well who told you to where those kinds of shoes”, I reply. While im slowing down my steps to come to a complete stop for her to reach me and grab my arm. Instantly, i feel her grip on my sweater and my warm hand touching her cold hand from where her sweater didnt covered. In that same moment i feel as if her cold hashy hand turned into snow melting on my grip. I look down and see her hand is like snowball that i have created in my mind. The ground in the moment getting covered with snow flakes as we stand beside each other. Looking up i see the white dark sky showing the falling snow so bright. The trees making an arc in like if they were falling on top of us instead they are covering the sky and the snow calms down falling less. I keep
David Sedaris’ essay, “Let It Snow” is a reflection of Sedaris’ past. A single day from his childhood in North Carolina where Sedaris and his siblings were home due to school being closed for few days because of bad weather. The story reflects solely on the relationship that Sedaris’ mother had with him and his sisters, and how it was affected by her drinking problem. Although the story revolved around the children the mother was the main character.
A long time ago, it was a man named Robert Harryson. Robert and his wife Ana lived a happy life with their 3 sons, Alex, Will and Ethan and the twin girls that soon will arrive. They had a good economy and a big house after Robert had sold a part of his big successful business. Everything was just perfect. When the family started to grow bigger they decided to hire a housemade, Sarah, so Robert and Ana could spend all their free time with their beloved children. A couple of month were going and then the twins Emily and Katie arrived. Their big brothers couldn't be happier over not just one, but two small babysisters!! The boys adore them and gave them a snowglobe that they had got from their grandmother.
To kick off National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Pediatric Dentistry of Ft. Myers will host unique snow-themed fundraising event on Saturday, October 1
It was 5:00, it’s crazy that we had been walking for hours and it hadn’t even felt like it. As I peered between tall trees, I saw a waterfall way out in the distance, the two of us decided to head that way. It took about five minutes to get to the falls and it was breathtaking. The setting sun floated just above the rocks behind and around the stream of water sloping down the mountain side.So there we stood, on top of the world, in front of a pink and orange sky as the constant sound of water crashing into the lower river filled my ears, I was in awe. Allegedly, Erin felt the same way because neither of us said anything for at least ten minutes. I felt as if I could stay there forever. I pulled out my phone to take a picture of this gorgeous view, but time after time each picture turned out bad and not what the actual scene looked like. I realized at that moment that some things are just too great to take a picture and I think that is the way things are supposed to be. The fresh breeze was back again and it was even colder than earlier . I then realized just how cold I was and checked my watch, it read 5:45, the perfect time to start heading back to the
It was a normal day riding my scooter and hanging out with my friend colin at his house. We decided that we should go to the skate park and ride out there. So I went to grab the snacks and waters while Colin went to grab his jacket and then we would leave. Then colin called me into his room to come check something out, “dude check this out.” Colin said in a confused tone.
The ground beneath the stiff leaves lies frozen. I hear sound of leaves crackling underneath my thick boots which each step I take. As I wander aimlessly, the cold, brisk air invades my lungs. I exhale slowly, I see my shaky breath float away from me. The scenery is nothing special, black trees covered in moss, very few hills, rocks in no set trail, and above all else, endless layers of Texas snow (not really snow, just an ice layer maybe 1/3 of an inch).
It was a normal winter morning. I woke up freezing my butt off. The night before we
As my friend Harry looked through his backpack for his orange bottle of pills I thought about the past two months. I was working at Sonic late one night when we had to close early due to the heavy snow which happened alot since we lived in Colorado. I started driving home and texting my friend Harry that I wasn’t gonna be able to come over, when all of the sudden I looked up and saw a person standing in front of me I slammed on the brakes, but my car slid on the thin sheet of ice and the next thing I knew I was going over the edge of the bridge. I guess someone behind me saw the accident because the paramedics started arriving quickly and pulling me out of the lake that was starting to freeze. When they finally got me out I couldn’t even ask
The fact can be really comprehended that snow falling is something that everyone takes pleasure in. Several people might hold a different perception to the following question.
My face feels a cool breeze brush my back, it was time I have to sit NOW! I am soon comforted by the soft seat belt, I now have to stop at a red trash can and make that perfect turn. I am nervous, I soon see my mom’s phone dangling on the edge. “ MOM, Why at this moment are you taking a photo of the skis dangling,” I say. There are little tiny people under my feet. I see I am face planting in the snow fifty feet below and all of them are skiing and snowboarding over me.
If she wasn’t in the snow, she knew her hands would still be shaking, she had to win. As the pistol was fired up the air, she pushed off with her poles and shot onto the groomed track. The sharp rush of wind pierced her skin like a thousand sharp knives as she bolted down the slope with her ski. Her trophy cabinet was prepared to invite the new glimmering piece of appreciation that she was sure to get her hands on. Crowds were cheering behind the fences, all pushing each other to get to the front and see the action. The grassy mountain in the summer with daisies and buttercups was now covered in snow. Elbowing her competitors she tried to push and make her way to the front. Unfortunately she just wasn’t quick enough, the others zoomed off and
As I wake up I smell the cold air I rush up the stairs into the living room and to see outside my window a mountain of glistening snow laid across the neighborhood. I was ecstatic when I saw so much snow on the ground on such a clear day, I dash to my closet and pick out all my snow gear one by one. As I rush out the back door I feel the cold wind rush against my face, as I walk through the snow it became quite difficult to move. Soon I went to my old playset that was in my background, but before I manage to climb up the wooden steps a giant piece of ice fell from the roof and I caught it, I was almost crushed by the large slab of ice. I then used the large ice slab to make a snowman out of it, I carried the ice slab to the back porch of my
The crunching sound reappeared when my feet lift off the wood porch to the snow. The sunshine wisped out of the trees and hitting the snow, making the snow shine. I leaned down and touching the snow with my bare hand, forming a clumpy snowball just to throw in the distance to see how far it goes. The snowball stayed together until it hit the ground. The
Oregon, one of the many beautiful places in the winter. The snow almost looks like a painting that you would see in a museum. Winter in Oregon means hot chocolate and playing in the white, soft snow until the sun sets. Me and Lucas are just two ordinary brothers that live in Oregon. Every year they would visit their grandparents in Florida. One early morning, my mother woke me and my brother Lucas up and told us wonderful news. She told us “ Start packing guys because we are heading to Florida in four hours to see your Grandparents, who have been dying to see you two.” Lucas states “ Finally, I have been wanting to see them ever since we left their house last year.”
Cold…Cold winter snow mixed with thick heavy rain. The blizzard wakes me up, pinching my cheeks with its sharp snowflakes. I could feel the cold winter scraping my throat as I cough. My frozen fingers are rolled up like a snowball; my socks are icing my feet. My body is so numb and paralyzed. I brush the snow off my eyes with my scarf and squint to see where I am. The sunlight and white snow beam a bright laser straight to my eyes. My eyelids hug each other and my brain absorbs all of my energy, leaving my body to melt with the snow. A loud screeching sound violently makes its way into my eardrums; the smell of a burning scent shoots up my nose. As I fight my way out of this blind battle, my brain tries to stretch out of my skull sending an army of migraines. With every painful beat, my eyes picture white flashes.
