Hue Jackson is not at all surprised with the way Deshaun Watson is playing as a rookie. “I think what I saw from Deshaun [Sunday] is what I anticipated he would be,” Jackson said on a conference call Monday, one day after Watson and the Houston Texans sent the Browns to an embarrassing loss and an 0-6 record. Watson has thrown more touchdowns through six games than any rookie since the AFL-NFL merger, and the Texans have set a team record with four games in a row of at least 30 points with Watson starting. While he does that, the Browns continue their search for their quarterback. The most galling reality: The Browns could have drafted Watson with the 12th pick. Instead, they traded the pick to the Texans. “He is a good football player,”
Almost four years into his career, Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler now has two starts and two wins on his resume'. Osweiler was the Broncos second-round draft pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, and is expected to be the future of the Broncos organization.
Foles was terrific completing 26-of-33 passes for 352 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the championship game. Clement was very impressed with Foles performance, who has really stepped up in the
Week three of an NFL preseason is when the entire first team should be practicing with their number one QB before the season begins. It's when you want your offense clicking and cohesive to begin the regular season. One 15 yard touchdown pass in the final practice of training camp by the team's presumptive starter, McCown, simply is not enough. Not stating or knowing who your preseason's game number three starting quarterback will be is simply mind boggling. The ex Cleveland Browns quarterback said Bowles had informed himself and the other two signal callers on just how this weeks practice reps would wind up going.
Jameis Winston has threw for 60 touchdowns and 10,000 yards for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in just three years. He is the second youngest to ever throw for 10,000 yards. Winston has been the heart and soul of the team since his arrival despite the odds he has faced on and off the field.
Then of course, there is also the conundrum of holding a future franchise QB as a keeper. Six quarterbacks were selected in the first three round of this year’s NFL draft, but one in particular jumps off the board as ultra-intriguing.
He did this despite his quarterback missing four games this season. If that hadn’t happened Brown would have shuddered the NFL’s reception and yardage record. Brown is the best skill player in the NFL and it’s not even close.
With the loss of starting QB Devin Gardner (1,896 yards passing, 10 TDs) and leading receiver Devin Funchness (733 yards receiving, 4 TDs), Coach Harbaugh starts a new era in Michigan football with a couple of junior running backs and a few returning offensive lineman as the basis of the team's 2015 offense. Harbaugh acknowledges this is going to be a rebuilding process and hopefully fans will give him time to employ his own experience. For now, his offense will revolve around two talented RBs who shared time in 2014. The team's leading rusher was De'Veon Smith who had a total of 519 yards and 6 TDs. He will be competing for playing time with Derrick Green who had 471 yards and 3 TDs. With 7 QBs listed on the roster, the starting QB role will most likely be determined by who is able to show leadership qualities during practice before the season starts.
New England has traded away almost half of their picks in the upcoming draft, forcing them to have to deal with the fact of minimal rookies that can better their team for the future. Even, though inexperienced, young rookies have made the pro bowl and made other great accomplishments. This proves how important it is too keep fresh talent coming in. Anyone can see the Browns have plenty of fresh talent coming in. They have not traded away a single pick plus have more picks total than every other team. They total seven picks in the top 108 and twelve total. This shows they are well prepared to build there team for years to come. Their simple, yet strategic way of building their team up is a sure way to have a powerhouse in a few short
All three of these outstanding college quarterbacks went on to lead less than stellar lives in the NFL. Each were top recruits in their class when coming into the college world and were sot after by many NFL teams, much like Deshaun Watson. With the similarities so astounding, this begs the question; is Watson ready for the NFL?
It was a nice sunny day on Sunday 9-20-15 when the jags beat the Dolphins 23-20. The jags running back T.J. Yeldon was playing due to the injury's of Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart both at the position of running back.T.J. Yeldon had a nice day getting 25 carries and 70 yards and 11 first down carries against the Dolphins . After the game Yeldon was the last one to get to his locker. Spent time in the hot tub and the cold tub because he was having some cramps. After the game he said "he's ready to keep taking workloads". He also said "in the off season we put a loot of emphasis on running the football". And that is your daily Jags news.
In 2015-16, his first year as the full time starting QB, Cousins responded with 4,166 yards passing with 29 TDs and 11 interceptions. The Skins ended the season 9-7. While the team didn't fare much better this past season at 8-7-1, Cousins continued to impress by throwing 4,917 yards with 25 TDs and 12 interceptions. The passing yards were good enough to place him #3 in the NFL behind Drew Brees and league MVP Matt Ryan.
The Texans lost their star left tackle Duane Brown last Sunday, which only means bad news for quarterback Brian Hoyer. Meanwhile the Chiefs’ defense is
One of the team’s biggest strengths is their powerhouse offense. But the man under center is what makes that powerhouse offense run. That man is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league if not the best. His statistics are unbelievable. He has the highest quarterback rating in NFL history at 103.8, while the second closest is 98.9. He has thrown 300 touchdowns to only 74 interceptions. That being a 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio, also the best in NFL history. One of his most impressive streaks was his success at home. In 2015, he threw an interception at home. The last one he threw at home before that was in 2012. He went three years without throwing an interception at home. Truly a remarkable feat. In 2011, Aaron had one of the best seasons
Quarterback Tim Tebow had assumed the helm of a struggling Bronco team that was sporting a 1 and 4 record in late October. They looked to be out of sorts and out of answers. With early elimination from the playoffs looming, Denver fans had been demanding that Tebow be given a chance to save the
After leading the team to the playoffs, everyone was wondering if he could have the same production in the 2016 season and Cousins did not disappoint. In 16 starts, he threw for 4,917 yards, 25 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a 97.6 passer rating. Even though he threw fewer touchdowns, Cousins improved in his second season as a full-time starter. The team failed to make the playoffs ending the season with a record of 8-7-1 finishing 3rd in the NFC East.
