It was finally Friday, August 28, and I was eager to go to school. Friday, was the day our classroom got to do the Diet Coke Mentos Project. For this project we needed the following: two liters diet coke, mentos, tubes, thermometer, a beautiful sunny day, a bunch of excited fourth grader and an awesome teacher, who let us do this cool project. We were so happy to do this project we could not wait until that moment. My classmates and I headed to Mr. Phillips’ science class around 10 a.m. we gather all of the materials we needed and headed to the playground. It was a beautiful sunny morning, the temperature outside the school was 74 degrees. Mr. Phillips also checked the diet coke temperature and it was 70 degrees warm. Our first test consisted
Directions: Design your own experiment to test some variable of the Diet Coke and Mentos lab. Identify one variable that you will change and test – this will be your Independent Variable.
I woke up, it was Monday the first day of school at Cupertino Middle School. I got up and took in the eye shattering light from the Sun's burning rays, and got ready for middle school being careful to make every little detail perfect like my hair, shirt, and of course school supplies.
Sprite is a type of soda that many people drink but how can it handle an Alacelzer. It doesn’t have a color and is flavored lime and lemon created by the coca cola company. Its made of carbon water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavors, and sodium benzoate. To get an idea of what this is really made up of I will tell you what each ingredient is. Carbonated water is water that has carbon dioxide dissolved into it as a gas. High fructose is something sweetener that is made from corn starch. Citric acid is a weak organic acid that keep in mind is used in this soda sprite. It gives the drink or food taste to it. Natural flavoring is when there is a flavor in a food that has come from another food to make that food taste good.
This paper is a Science Fair Project about Coke and Mentos Reaction. This essay is not going to tell you about the experiment but rather background information on the subject. The background information is about Mentos reacting in Coke.
The Mentos and soda react due to nucleation. When the carbon dioxide from the soda mixes with the Mentos, the carbon dioxide is squeezed into liquid it’s looking for a way out. It’s trying to hook on to it can and those things are nucleation sites. Since the Mentos are coated with A TON of sugar that is also contains tons and tons of nucleation sites which causes pressure to build up and BAM It explodes.
sat in my 8th hour room, staring at the clock, waiting for it to finally hit 3:05. After what felt like an eternity I heard the ring of the bell and a wave of students rushed out into the summer air. Summer was finally here and I couldn’t be happier. I had a whole three months to do whatever I wanted. No homework, no tests, no teachers. I hopped on my bus that would drive me home and deliver me to freedom.
The Course Project is an opportunity for you to apply concepts learned to a real-life simulation experience. Throughout the Course Project, you will assume that you work as a financial analyst for the Coca Cola Company. The Course Project is provided in two parts as follows:
It was the Saturday before the last week of first grade and my family and I were attending a kickstart into summer barbecue at Scott Shaw’s house. Accompanied by my mother, father, brother, and my father’s 20 plus mountain biking, “crunchy granola” friends and spouses, we all arrived with summer’s approaching warmth on our faces. Everyone shoveling food into their mouths, playing ping pong, pool and swimming, everything was going smoothly.
At Paoli high school there are many vending machines, but recently I have noticed that every vending machine has some kind of diet drink and no regular soda . let’s start at the basics. Here’s the ingredient list for coke “ Carbonated water,High Fructose Corn Syrup,Caramel Color, Phosphoric Acid,Natural Flavors,Caffeine”. Here’s the ingredient list for diet coke “Carbonated Water ,Caramel Color, Aspartame, Phosphoric Acid , Potassium benzoate (to protect Taste), Natural Flavors,Citric Acid, Caffeine”. I understand diet free soda fails to leave the residue on teeth that regular soda does. This is because diet soda gets its flavoring from artificial sweeteners , not natural sugar.
Obstreperous screaming, balls soaring through the air, the sound of shoes reverberating across the pavement, and enthralling excitement in the atmosphere; one simple word described this environment: recess. I was eight years old, currently in second grade at Clearview Elementary school. Recess, being everyone’s favorite part of the day, allowed each grade to experience a time of freedom, while having a fabulous time with friends. Even though a towering fence defined our freedom at recess, the excitement of venturing on to the outside world instead of being trapped inside sparked a chain reaction that illuminated everyone’s face with gigantic smiles and laughs that echoed against the stony school building. The late April weather felt marvellous..not too hot or cold. The sun, a fiery star, radiated down on my exposed
During the time of heat, air conditionings were malfunctioning and teenagers at a high school in Highland Park documented the temperatures in their classroom and ended up with results over 100 degrees. A student, using Twitter tweeted a picture of a classroom with the headlines of 103 degrees. Moments later she tweeted again saying that her class was moved to another room with working air conditioning; and after that, more classes were moved to an auditorium. As this goes on, teachers, staffs, and students were arranged to a more cooler room, in effort to cope with the heat while the district works on a solution.
Have you ever watched the reaction between Mentos and Diet Coke? Most people think it’s a chemical reaction, but they’re wrong. It’s actually a physical reaction, meaning that all the substances to the reaction are still there, just rearranged. (Spurting Science)
The question that i was trying to answer is”How high can soda Fizz with mentos”. My hypothesis was that Coca-Cola will go the highest. My hypothesis was correct because out of all the other soda’s ,the Coca-Cola went the highest. The number that supported it was that it was measured in milliliters and they go up by 30. The variable that I controlled well was all of the variables because I nailed my experiment by studying. The Variables that might have messed up my experimentation might have been the dependent variable because when I did the test it did not work for a second but then it started to work after a while. I learned that if you put too much Mentos in one can of soda not that much pain will come out and if you have one can cold and
Our bus had become rubbish, our hotel rooms were snatched away from us, and the air conditioning was counterproductive. Ultimately, what we thought would be an eleven hour ride ended up taking us twenty-six. When we finally arrive at the school, where we would be sleeping for the rest of the week, we were eager to depart from the rolling calamity. We stepped foot off the bus and we were immediately taken back by the sweltering heat and thick air. Apparently, Philadelphia was in the midst of a heat wave, bringing in record highest of 105°F. After such a long journey the feeling of failure was weighing upon us. We eventually got all of our paraphernalia out of the bus, and were ready to fall into a deep slumber by the time we got our rooms set up. Then we realized our room, just like the bus, had no air conditioning. We lay there sweating against the plastic filled air mattresses, dreading the preceding day when we would be hiking the melting streets of
It was getting late, the sky was dimming, and the fridge and blender were calling my name! That’s right, SNACK TIME!!! I ran out of my room, through the hall, and took a sharp right turn into the kitchen! As fast as lighting I grabbed my vitamin water out of the fridge, grabbed a cup filled with ice, and tossed
