Of course there are always similarities between books and their corresponding movie. However, certain differences always occur since some scenes just don’t work in movies.
I would like to expose these differences between Stephen Chbosky’s book “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and the movie that goes along with it, in the following article.
The biggest difference is probably the way the story is told. In the book the story is told with letters, to an unnamed friends, written by the protagonist, Charlie. The film shows Charlie from an outside perspective while still incorporating the letter-writing format.
Charlie’s a little bit different as well. Since you don’t only get to know him through his letters, you get to see the way he acts around
