The Crucible is a story written about the Salem Witch Trials which took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. The story revolves around a Puritan town in which accusations of Witchcraft had been made. Several girls, who were led and manipulated by Abigail Williams, were found dancing in the forest naked. Abigail had manipulated the girls into lying saying they saw the devil and that spirits were coming upon them. The townspeople were being falsely accused and hanged if they did not confess to the Witchcraft. The Crucible film and the play are very different yet very similar in several ways. The film is completely more dramatic than the play itself. In the film we get to see the characters and the drama portrayed right in front of us. We
