The Outsiders book and movie were similar and different in many ways. An example of difference could be by how in the beginning the Ponyboy was jumped but in the movie they skipped right to when Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy went to the movies. A similarity between them could be how in the movie and in the book both took place in Oklahoma. This evidence exemplifies the ways that the movie is related and the way that the movie contrasts from the book. Skipping the part when Ponyboy gets jumped and the setting in both the movie and the book taking in the same place are just some of the comparisons and contrasts between “The Outsiders” movie and the book. “The Outsiders” movie contains a lot of comparisons with the book. A
The book and the movie of the Outsiders are two very different stories. The book has so much more detail then the movie. The movie is not the most detailed but it does get its point across. There are may similarities and also many differences between the two the book is by far more interesting and more detailed then the movie. I enjoyed the book a lot and the movies a lot but the movie was missing a lot.
A comparison between both mediums for The Outsiders can be made by showing both of their advantages and disadvantages to show that one of them is better than the other.
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
The novel of The Outsiders is better than the movie. The novel gives more vivid details than the movie does. Even though the movie shows actual image, the novel lets you have your own image of what’s going on. The movie did not show the part where Ponyboy was getting jump. That is where most of the conflicts started. It also didn’t show the part where they were at the court, which is a really important part in The Outsiders. The feeling and tension are more intense in the novel than it is in the movie. Over all, the movie is not better than the novel.
In El Dorado California, once called Mud Springs, lived two twin sisters Elisa and Elizabeth. These 11 year olds lived with their grandmother Myra whom took care of them since they were 4 years of age after their parents passed away in a tragic car accident. They lived humbly in a small log cabin. Elisa and Elizabeth’s favorite pass time was to play in the forest; they loved acting and playing as magicians attempting to do magic tricks.
“The Outsiders” is by far one of my favorite books of all time. I think it’s a great story that tells about how a fourteen-year-old boy overcomes many challenges and learns how to get through each of them individually. “The Outsiders” is a story about a boy named Ponyboy that lives with his two older brothers, and they have a group of friends, called the Greasers. One day Pony gets upset with his older brother, Darry, and goes to a park with his friend Johnny to calm down. At the park, a group of kids, called Socs, come and start drowning Pony. Johnny gets scared and doesn’t know what to do so he kills one of the Socs. Soon after, Pony and Johnny decide to run away so they wouldn’t have to deal with
The “OUTSIDERS”, a book and movie, portrays a small gang going through hard times. The Book and Movie may have the same plot but have small yet noticeable differences. Both stories take place around Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1965. These should be compared to show why sometimes movies get things wrong and why the book tends to be better, in this case they both stick to the plot with only a few missing or added details, such as the book is slower paced but has more detail, the movie misses or adds small details, and the movie destroys your thought of what characters look like.
The movie “the Outsiders” is very different from the book, written by S. E. Hinton. The very first scene in the movie shows Ponyboy writing in his journal the very first words in the book, “When I stepped out into the bright sunlight…” (The Outsiders). The book does not show or say in the beginning of the book that Pony was writing in his journal. Almost right after that scene it barely shows a slight argument/fight between greasers and socs. The book tells us that the fight was more serious and Ponyboy got hurt pretty bad, when in the movie all Pony gets is a little scar. After Johnny gets hurt when the old church catches on fire he ends up dying. Dally, another greaser that is part of the main group of friends, ends up shoplifting because he really cared about Johnny. Dally was eventually shot and killed by the police. The scene in the movie where Dally is in the store, thinking about shoplifting, is not in the book. “He’s just robbed a grocery store and the cops are after him.” (Hinton 153). The whole scene of Dally in the store is not in the book. Although there are many differences between the movie and the book, “the Outsiders”, there are also many similarities.
The Outsiders is a book that has been read by many people. Most of the people have enjoyed the book, but not the movie or vise versa. The Outsiders was very good and had a great story behind it. The reasons why the book is better than the movie are the book gives more detail, people can let their imagination go wild, and the movie leaves out key elements that the book has.
You would think having the author on set of their book to film adaptation would make the film exactly like the book, right? That's mostly true. Although The Outsiders is full of similarities between the movie and the book, there are still a few significant differences. These differences can be a break it or make it for the movie. The Outsiders while having many similarities, it also has many differences from the book that impacted it in positive and negative ways.
In the book and movie The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, the theme is things are rough all over. From the Greasers fighting the Socs, to Dallas going to the drug store to get the cops after him because he could not deal with the death of Johnny. Both movie and book had the Greasers and the Socs were beating each other up. In the book it says, “‘We gotta get even with the Socs. For Johnny.’
The way there compared to each other as a ‘’ Which ones satisfying? ’’ paper . In the “ Outsiders “ having wad of money, fancy cars , rich parents who don’t care . To this people with not a lot of money but just enough, NO car, and they don’t have parents that they actually might want them to care for, but they don’t have that. Another difference was when an altercation between the two characters. In the book the character didn’t in the altercations face, but in the movie the altercation did. Him doing that is probably what set the character off the most. Both have the same qualities, but there just in different places The “ Outsiders “ movie, and book didn’t really care for it that much because it’s the exact example of how some people act\treat people today, and I don’t really think we need anymore reminders. The differences . The differences mean everything, they show more character between the movie and the novel the altercation between the two characters when altercation (one) spits in altercations (two’s)
Have you ever felt like you didn’t fit in? In the book The Outsiders, Ponyboy struggles to fit in with the Greasers, but he doesn’t fit in with the Socs either. Therefor Ponyboy really doesn’t fit in with anybody. The theme of the novel The Outsiders is fitting in. The movie and book The Outsiders have many differences and similarities, but the theme remains consistent in both. Also the similarities and differences are usually very distinct. You can easily tell what the differences and similarities are.
The movie (Which was released March 25, 1983)based on the novel The Outsiders written by S.E Hinton, tries to capture the major themes and message of the book. The makers of the movie accomplish the major aspects of the novel, but they leave out the little things in the book. These little things gave the characters personality and made them seem as real people. This is common in most movies based on books because producers may want to appeal to a wider audience. Although the book and movie have major aspect alike, the little things that gave the book its charm and are not in the movie.
There are so many life changing events in this story such as the drive in. Murder. Church Fire. all this happens yet these kids are still heros! In this movie and book there are two sides of kids, the Greasers, and Socs. These two groups have fights between each other but if you compare and contrast them between the book and movie you will see both stories are told a little bit different and also a little bit the same. In the Outsiders there are many differences and similarities between the two versions, book and the movie because of how the events are told through the book, the movie, and both.
