According to life itself, education is one of the main achievements you can have in order to be successful. Throughout my whole twelve years of education expericene, I finally reached my goal an earning my high school diploma and receiving all the support, motivation and guidance from friends, family, and teachers. I have came to an understanding of what is my next step in almost completing my education journey, to moving forward to earning my degree an healthcare. The career that I have chosen is to become a diagnostic medical sonographer. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer’s use imaging equipment that directs waves into a patient’s body and sends echoes to an ultrasound machine which create an image. They help gather sonographic data to diagnose medical conditions and diseases as well as monitor fetal development. Sonographers must be able to perform appropriate procedures and provide anatomical, pathological, and psychological information. Sonographers must be able to provide information about the ultrasounds to the patients and be able to promote good health.
Diagnostic medical sonographers play a key role in the health care team and often work alongside doctors, nurses, and other technologists. They prepare patients by explaining the procedure and collect necessary patient history information prior to examination. An ultrasound is then performed, which is a non-invasive process that enables sonographers to send high-frequency sound waves into the body. The return signals are then analyzed to help visualize internal organs in 2D, 3D or 4D. These images help physicians with medical diagnoses and are also used for monitoring pregnancy. An ultrasound is often executed on many different areas of the body including the abdomen, pelvis, tissues, and vascular and cardiac systems. A DMS may also be required
In the medical field there is a goal to protect patients and to provide top quality support both physically and mentally. It is the job of any medical professional to assist their patients, but there are many cases where the job can negatively affect the worker. At this point, not only would it effect the employee but also the patients which could cause a number of problems. In Diagnostic Medical Sonography, sonographers face risks of stresses on both the body and mind. Among many others, sonographer safety consists of preventing musculoskeletal injuries, which develop from small cumulative trauma to the tissues of the body (Craig 66).
One of the main reasons for choosing a healthcare career in todays society, aside from the basic need for a self sustaining income, is the opportunity to make differences in peoples lives. With the demand for healthcare professionals and alternative medicines on the rise, so is the need for adequately educated trained personnel. Diagnostic Medical Sonography is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative to radiologic procedures such as x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Accounting for approximately 50,300 jobs in the United States in 2008, compared to the 214,000 jobs held by radiologic technicians, according to
To achieve my goal to attend Johnston Community College’s Medical Sonography program I have to start by completing an application for general college admission. After completing the admission process I will then have to start on my classes that are required for me to be accepted into the program. Once I fit the requirements for the program I will then I will then I will sign up for the Medical Sonography program, which should take about two years. To successfully reach my goal I may have to cut back on the hours that I take at my part time jobs. At the moment I have a lot of free time which allows me to have two job, once I begin working on my goal I expect to be forced to either quit one of my jobs or to cut back on my hours.
My interest kept growing until I had a divorce in 2010 and I made up my mind about pursuing a career in healthcare and seeking a degree in Sonography since I decided to move to the United States. I am an International student in the United States, a single mother of two boys, and I came here to get a degree and settle down so that I can support my children by providing them the kind of life they
I have always known since I was a little girl that I wanted to be something in the medical field. There was never a doubt about that. It took a lot of thinking to figure out what exactly it was that I wanted to be just because I didn’t want to go to school for too long; because as I have mentioned before I am not a fan of school at all. Just recently I had finally found the right career path. I had decided that I wanted to be a Traveling Sonographer. This is perfect for me because it won’t take me forever to accomplish and I will be able to travel like I’ve always wanted to do. But there is also a deeper reasoning to why I want to be a Sonographer, and I'm going to talk about that in this paper.
My lifetime goals mostly consist of being a well round, intellectual, respected person of society. An Ultrasound technician is the career I intend to pursue. The extra-curricular and academic classes I participate in will help me achieve my goals in a variety of ways. All things I do now will partake in how I am defined in the future I see for myself.
In sonography you have a wide range of jobs and deal with hands on technology. I also chose this field because it is a 2 year program so I can learn fast and start working. It also has a nice salary and can allow you to live almost anywhere. I also love that I don’t just have to be behind a desk and there is no lack of growth in this career. Sonography is a better and easier way to figure out what is wrong with a patient so this help patients visit to the hospital more easier and effective, making their lives better in a way that I am apart of. This research paper has just confirmed all the reason why this should be my career. The only thing I didn’t know was the the salary was different because I thought it was 50,000 annualy because researched it in 2012, I didn’t think that it might have changed over the years. Everything is still planed for me to start a career in sonography and this paper just better prepares me for what I have to do and what
Even after school is completed, I will continue to pursue learning opportunities to grow with the profession in the changing healthcare world because I believe it is essential so that patients will have the best opportunity to succeed when working with me.
As the coming years approach, I want my future to hold both the passion to explore new opportunities and the strength to overcome new challenges. With the experiences of my high school career, I aspire to take all the things I learned to transition into a college environment where my ideas can be challenged and shared. Where I can learn from others; where I can seek the opportunity to make a direct impact towards saving lives. I believe I can do great things. Through tenacity I will not only be gratified in becoming a doctor, but also be able to share my compassion for others through
I am pleased to state that I have been a registered nurse for forty years. At this moment, I continue working in nursing while pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. My intended month of completion is October 2012. My experience in nursing education has motivated me to continue my education and pursue a Masters degree in a nursing related field commencing in 2013. Thus, in terms of my career planning, my education is a crucial part to my professional development. Extending and deepening one's education, especially within the career field of one's choice, can only bring upon additional professional opportunities as well as opportunities for personal growth. My career planning includes building upon my decades of experience in obstetrics, my particular area of specialty, expertise, and passion, with the assistance and addition of higher education. I believe in terms of career planning, my strengths include foresight, preparation, internal motivation, and focus.
What I want to become in the future is a psychologist for children I will be dealing with all sorts of children emotional physical and mental and this course tells you about issues and responsibilities the children face. this course also explains a lot about young people and their transition into adulthood for my future job I would like to know all kind of situations a young child could face one of the problems I found in the course was young children on the streets with no job no education so obviously if they would come to me as a physiologist I would definitely recommend them to go back to education for a better future and I would advise as much as I can also I personally think education is something really important . So I would try my best in the future for those who stop studying because of peers to persuade them to go back to education as it can change their life in the
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, we have all been asked this question; and as unrealistic children, we all had dreams of being a superhero, princess, cowboy, or astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by, and as we became more knowledgeable, our answers became more serious. Some of us wanted to be teachers, business owners, or a veterinarian. However, I have always wanted to be a doctor, but not just any doctor. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician. Now, half way through my junior year in high school, I have started to question the details of this career, and all the hard work it takes to become a part of the medical field.
On many occasions my personal goals have come before my professional aspirations. A career in the medical field has always been something I have looked forward to. As a child I wanted and dreamed of being a doctor, however due to the choices I made in life and the priorities that I had not thought of, I have come to realize that my childhood dream may not come true. Yet, I was able to compromise and make short and long term goals that will lead me into a career in the medical field. My long term goal is to enter the medical field world and be a respected contributor to it. I want to be able to help others in the time of need. In
