The Diversity of the workplace will have a great impact on me as a doctor. People from different walks of life are becoming doctors in Canada- it is no longer field only composed of only white, heterosexual males. For example, there are many immigrant doctors who practice in Canada, especially here in the Niagara Region. I, as a young, Nigerian-Canadian, female Muslim, should not have to worry about discrimination or the "glass ceiling effect" when I enter the workplace. I will be able to work with other professionals, and contribute to the medical field to the best of my ability, with no worries. Diversity is an essential aspect when it comes to productivity in a workplace. Having multiple types of people with an assortment of different backgrounds can be very rewarding when coming up with ideas and reasoning business plans. In order to be successful you must be able to look at things from many different perspectives and understand how each decision effects different individuals. Having an assorted group of people on a team can provide inside advice from many different socioeconomic, cultural, and racial perceptions of how things are and how they think they should be. Not only will this make your business more successful, it will also open your mind to new traditions and cultures that you have never been exposed to. Diversity is what makes America great and is the foundation of our changing world.
I am very happy witht the progress that Vicky has made in her job so far. She has been with the Bureau about 8 months and she has become invaluable to us. She understands the division and bureau vision and direction. She is a real team player who actively participates in bureau meetings and activities such as coming up with a vision and mission statement for the PPI bureau.

Out breaks of minimum wage, sexualities, gender, and even your skin color affects what diversity a business would want. Within the business, the professional level is set pretty high due to the superior designers making us able to dress well fashioned. When people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t-shirt and gym shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn’t scream “I just woke up from bed.” The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. People who are African American, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, male, or even female could feel unwanted at a higher end business. The more people are expanding their personalities and how much they want to be shown that anyone could do anything just as much as the next man is outrageous. Workplace diversity is becoming more intense as the years continue on and it is important to employers and employees for a number of reasons, a few of them being that it would gain mutual respect with everyone, conflict resolution would not be as much of an issue, and lastly the increased exposure due to all of the workplace diversity.

With both parents in the Navy, I was surrounded by a diverse, ever-changing populace for the majority of my life while we lived in Virginia Beach. My friends, classmates, and fellow city residents consisted of a myriad of different ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds. I find it interesting that diversity is such an issue in technology companies. According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, the estimated size of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce is expected to increase by 18% in the next ten years, (non-STEM increasing by 12%), reaching to 8.7 million by 2018 alone. Forbes hypothesizes that if current hiring trends continue, STEM jobs will be "largely unavailable" to women and minorities, who combine to make up over half of the U.S. population (Newlands, 2016).
I have had the opportunity to experience working with different teams. I currently work with a group of lab analyst at EMSL Analytical. In the past, I have worked with other members on executive boards for different organizations . I like working in teams, and I believe that in order to become a productive team member you have to be able to communicate effectively. The organisational structure of the workplace can impact positively on phonetic and cultural diversity through advancement of good inter-personal relationship and administration of appreciation among individuals in the workplace (Manning, M. I worked for a corporation that is very diverse and they believe in giving back to the employees and the community in Johns Creek, Georgia. This corporation has companies all over the world that believes in giving back to the community and making sure the employees are happy in their workplace. The company has many teams and group that support the organization. The people seemed eager to be a part of the team because they felt they were giving something back to the community. Everyone wanted to feel like they were doing something good and they enjoyed themselves doing it.
Growing up as a child, I was always fearful of what other thought and considered of me. This fear brought forth self-esteem difficulties throughout my school as well as I entered college. Unfortunately, my fears restricted me from forming friendships, and even to the point of preventing me from developing as an employee. This fear that crippled me from within was the main source of what caused me to holdback in life rather than exposing to the world the true individual I actually was.
When the word diversity is mentioned, what comes to mind is the ‘obvious’ differences between people, such as race, culture, gender. The true and broader viewpoint would be - "diversity" is used broadly to refer to many demographic variables, including, but not limited to, race, religion, color, gender, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, age, education, geographic origin, and skill characteristics. America's diversity has given this country its unique strength, resilience and richness. This is stated on a page of the U.S Department of the Interior. America has acknowledged that its diversity has much contributed to its relentless success.
