Case One: Donald's teacher has accused him of plagiarism since he used information that he found as his own in the essay that he wrote. I am certain this problem occurred because Donald failed to note each source he came across. Donald's situation could have been avoided quite easily if he had better organization skills and if he listed the points he came across with their references. I would advise that he should take his time and separate his ideas from the various articles and sources he may come across. By doing so, he would be able to clearly differentiate which ideas/phrases came from him and which ones came from another source. For Donald's next essay it would be wise if he attaches a work cited page using MLA or APA format to his essay.
In 2006 Bob Dylan, a famous singer-songwriter created an album called Modern Times. This album grew instant success becoming number one on the Billboard charts. Soon after its release, audiences found some things that were unsettling, which led to the start of allegations. Very similar comparisons were found between Dylan’s album and Henry Timrod’s poems like phrases that were copied verbatim. With these accusations Dylan and many others came to his defense, stating that this is merely just “folk process” but with no credit to the source, this simply is not excusable. His techniques in hiding this theft by changing the context and lack of acknowledgment to the original author is a sign of complete and utter disrespect. Seeing the supportive evidence and similarity between Bob Dylan's album and Henry Timrod’s poetry, it is evident that this is more than just a coincidence and is clearly plagiarised.
This semester I wrote two major papers in English class, the first was a text analysis about the novella Anthem, and the second an argument paper about a subject that each student was free to choose. The textual analysis essay asked me to explain exactly what Ayn Rand, the author of Anthem believed and communicated with her novel and how these beliefs were shaped by her childhood. Each paper also included a summary of the text and cited some arguments from individuals who were against Rand’s beliefs. The argument paper required that I pick something they felt passionate about and argue for or against it, with detailed reasons, strong support from experts, and a place to recognize and refute people who felt differently. These essays were used

Therefore, George Brown has more reasonable policy for plagiarism and it can be found about procedure, how severe of punishment and treatment for student’s parts. Every English academic institution has their own policy of treatment for plagiarism but this policy need respect for students because the students who got in trouble about plagiarism have also rights to warrant for why did they commit. So I went back through my essay and read it again and agreed with my peer. I added some quotations from my sources that I feel added some strength to my essay. By adding in some summaries and quotations from the sources that I used throughout I was able to strengthen the point of my argument. This gave my argument some creditability by showing actual quotes from articles and writings from other authors.
Democracy allows for the citizens of a country to hold those responsible, accountable for their actions. Donald Trump is running for the presidency but unlike many other candidates, he does not communicate the truth media sources. He reinterprets events that have taken place and tries to put a positive spin or misplace the blame.
The first mistake Ian made in this case is not properly recording his citations. If he had written down the information needed to cite his quotes as he retrieved his quotes, he would easily be able to properly cite his quotes. The second mistake Ian made was writing his essay the night before it was due. If Ian had written his essay earlier, he would have been able to go back to the library and find the books so he could properly cite the quotations. If Donald wants to submit his essay on time, his options could be to search for the quotes online in order to find their sources or to find new quotes that support his opinion so that he still has something to back up his information. Strategies that I would suggest to Ian in order to avoid this
In your opinion, Joe is guilty of plagiarism. As a high school student of Lester B Pearson CI, he should already have good enough knowledge on plagiarism, which means that first this should not be tolerated at this level. Secondly, Joe should have used "Hamnotes" the website as a reference rather than taking information from that site without giving credential rights. Thirdly, even if he took the quote from the site, he should have given the original author rights at least. Lastly, when confronted, he should own up to his mistake as he has already committed a wrongful act, instead of causing more and more unnecessary problems. This case is definitely considered plagiarism under many accounts.
Throughout the initial essay, I have stubbled upon multiple mistakes. One of the main mistakes that I had found throughout the essay is the different types of citations within different paragraphs. For example, in the first body paragraph the author uses the author’s name and page number to cite the quotation, while in the second body paragraph the author only uses the page number to cite the quotes. By doing this the author is not necessarily citing the quotes correctly. The author does have good rhetorical choices and examples, but the reasoning for the rhetorical choices was not very strong. By not having strong reasoning behind her examples and quotes it leads the reader to not feel as compelled to believe what she is trying to prove about Jaschik’s ideas on plagiarism.
Unfortunately, I came across plagiarized material in Andrew's Vietnam Comparative Essay. I found this after I had given back a hard copy I graded and marked on. It was an essay that I initially gave him a perfect score on, based on the strength of the ideas (I thought) he had presented. It was not a strictly perfect essay, just a very strong performance-- especially from a ninth grader. I felt it was strong enough to warrant that grade, and I wanted Andrew to get the grade (it seemed) he had worked for. Consequently, I was tremendously disappointed when I learned that a number of the points he made in the essay were not his own. According to the school policy, I have no choice but to give Andrew a 0 on this assignment.
In America, we are privileged to have the right of free speech. This right should be coveted, however some forget that with free speech also comes ethics. We all need to take responsibility for the words we use and choose them carefully as when speaking or writing in an unethical matter what you say can eventually find its way back to you in an unfavorable way.
First, Maliah has very poor time management skills if she just began her essay the night before it was due. Secondly, Maliah did not cite any of the books she obtained information from, if Maliah uses this information in her essay it is plagiarism. If Maliah wants to submit her essay on time she will have to either someone track down the information about the books so she can cite them or she will have to do all of her research over again. Next time Maliah could avoid this situation for her next essay by better managing her time and write down every source she would like to use in her

In this case study, Donald has unintentionally plagiarized his essay. His confusion of not knowing where his notes are from is caused from his poor note-taking skills. This situation occurred because Donald did not take the time to write down where he found this information. If he was running out of time or was confused on how to cite (that being the reason why he did not cite the passages in the first place) he could have used a website like Citation Machine to speed up the process of citing. Donald, being accused of plagiarizing, could have been avoided if he paraphrased his work and/or immediately cited his information. In the future, I would advise Donald to keep track and cite his notes so that he is able easily decipher where his information came from.
Plagiarism is the process of taking some one else work or ideas and showing it as their own works (Oxford Dictionaries).
