Now this story does not follow Dr. Jekyll through his journey of creating his evil alter ego. Moreover he is not even the first initial character that we are introduced to in the novella; we are first introduced to a man named Mr. Utterson. He is actually the lawyer of Dr. Jekyll and he takes an interest in his newfound protégé who is referred to as Mr. Hyde. His negative feelings towards Mr. Hyde, beget a personal investigation into his life and his connection to Dr. Jekyll. Sadly he does not realize the truth behind the mystery of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde till the end of the novella, where he finally discovers the secret from reading Dr. Jekyll’s last words written in a letter addressed to him after Dr. Jekyll’s untimely death.

For the most part, the novel was very enjoyable. One aspect of it that I loved was that the storyline was extremely intense, which always compelled me to find out what would happen next. For example,

As the overall book, I actually kind of liked it because it was kind of hard to understand because they couldn’t use “I” and I like challenges. They had to use “We” instead of using “I” to explain they self or the story. The book was okay as a whole but still kind of hard to understand I got kind of irritated after a while, while I was reading the book because of the way it was written.

The characters bring a riveting story to life when reading. Throughout the book, I felt emotions left and right for the characters and what they were going through. There is a lot of mystery and questioning that will be answered later in the book, but once its done, there are still many questions being asked. when I look for a book, that is something that stands out to me because I really want to read more, and when you have that reaction to a book, that means it was worth reading. I found this book remarkable because of the behaviors, characteristics, and decisions that the characters make, and I recommend this book to everyone, even if they don’t like to

Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, highlights the actions of a monster name Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde is a reflection of the evil side of every man that indulges in his darkest desires. Stevenson writes, “He had in his hand a heavy cane, with which he was trifling; but he answered never a word, and seemed to listen with an ill-contained impatience. And then all of a sudden he broke out in a great flame of anger, stamping with his foot, brandishing the cane, and carrying on (as the maid described it) like a madman. The old gentleman took a step back, with the air of one very much surprised and a trifle hurt; and at that Mr. Hyde broke out of all bounds and clubbed him to the earth.

Curious, Utterson decides to contact old friend Dr. Lanyon about the presence of Jekyll and Hyde. Lanyon expresses that he no longer speaks to Jekyll and that something is terribly wrong with his mind also adding he yet to hear of a Mr. Hyde. Later, Utterson remembers that Dr Jekyll presented him with an agreement of will between him and Hyde that if anything shall happen resulting in the disappearance of Jekyll that Hyde is to accumulate all possessions of his. Utterson is suspicious that Hyde is trying to steal from Jekyll and decides to investigate by catching Hyde outside of Jekyll laboratory.

The author used sharp detail to describe every scene in the book making it captivating. The author’s use of language vividly describes the graphic scenes as well as conveys the profound emotional aspect of the book making the novel is an excellent read. This book requires patience and deep interest as one could never guess what will happen next. The plot gets sudden twists with everything happening fast thus creating a lot of suspense requiring one to read to the

Overall, for the first time reading, we feel a foreshadowing that develops into the duality of man, at this point symbolised through the appearance of the door, one side leading to the kindheartedness of human; Meanwhile, Hyde’s neglected door is illustrated as “equipped with neither bell nor knocker”. From this, we are encouraged to continue reading as we want to know what’s going to happen next and what is behind those doors.

The main Protagonist of Dr. Jekyll and Mr, Hyde is Dr. jekyll, a brief description about him is that he has a reputation as a doctor and is also a friend of Lanyon, who is also in the medical fields as a physician, and also Utterson, who is a government lawyer. Dr. Jekyll who is a very successful man, who is well founded in the community, and is known for his modesty and humanitarian works. Dr. Jekyll has been doing this for many years, but many people do not know his engagement on bad behaviors and he discovers his evil side a huge weight to handle.

This book was all in all a “good read” (get it?). I loved the concept of the book and the general story of the book also. It had a couple of good characters here and there that brought a lot of new story and energy into the book such as Rusty who brought a lot of energy, and Debbie who brought a ton of new story that we wouldn't expect.

The storyline is cute, but the writing needs work-a lot of work. Some of the sentences just did not make sense, punctuation was missing, grammar was lacking and simple misspellings made reading this book cringe worthy.

As an old friend of Jekyll, he recognizes the changes and strange occurrences of Jekyll and Hyde, and resolves to further investigate the relationship between the two men.
