Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: The American Civil Rights Movement

Martin Luther King Jr. was an American pastor, activist, humanitarian and leader in the African-American civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by murder in 1968. He is well known for his part in the progress of civil rights using peaceful civil disobedience based on his Christian ways of thinking. By 1968 the years of proof and conflicts were starting to wear on Martin Luther King Jr. He had gotten tired of going to jail and living under the steady threats of death he was getting.
