Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have A Dream

There were many people throughout the history of the United States that helped to get equality for African Americans; however, one man's voice moved an entire race. That one man is Martin Luther King, Jr. He has a way of making you listen when he speaks and of making you understand his ideas. Many people did listen and he motivated a whole race of people to strive with him on his quest for equality. The events in his life from early life, civil rights, and later life led him to be one of the most powerful people in the movement towards civil rights.

Years later, Martin Luther King Jr.’s delivered his speech, “I have A Dream” in 1963. His motive lied in hopes of persuading his community to unit and protest against discrimination. Martin Luther King spoke out:

Through the effective use of several literary elements, Dr. Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech prompted Caucasian Americans to look closer at the country 's dismal record of civil rights for black Americans and other minorities.

Dr. Martin Luther King administered his famous speech: I have a Dream to America. This is where he spoke about the inequity and segregation of African Americans. King incorporates the following rhetorical strategies: Ethos, Logos, and Pathos into his speech by showing the rest of America what was going on.

The speech “I Have a Dream” was delivered by Martin Luther King on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation on 28th August 1963. The speech was dramatically delivered on the steps of Lincoln Memorial and it was witnessed by about two million people. This speech is often considered to be one of the greatest and notable speeches in history and the top American speech of the 20th century.

Martin Luther King Jr was a man on a mission(1). Even though he went through some rough times, Martin was a great man because all of the great characteristics he had and that's what helped him become so great.

In a hopeful tone, Dr. Martin Luther King uses natural imagery to encourage African Americans to be hopeful that their right will be enforce. In his speech Martin Luther King focus on the positive aspect of nature to enforce his message on not losing hope. By using positive and negative aspects of nature, Dr. King tell his audience that even when nature is showing them a bad aspect of current situations, same nature will also show a strong and positive outcome.
