There were many doctors in concentration camps during World War II, but no one can top what Josef Mengele did to the people. Killing over thousands of people, Doctor Mengele did things like freezing their bodies, gassing, giving shots in their eyes, and so many more. Even though his experiments were harsh, it helped us advance in our genetics research today. Doctor Mengele killed lots of men, women, and kids during his experiments, though his main focus was on experiments and research related to twins.
Doctor Mengele was born March 16, 1911 in Gunzburg, Germany. His parents are Walburga and Karl Mengele. Josef Mengele has two siblings, Karl Jr and Alois. Josef came from a wealthier family. His father, Karl, manufactured machinery.

He became interested in twins from Otmar Freiherr von Verschuer. The twin’s, he researched on, life began at six o’clock every day. They ate a small proportion of breakfast. Every morning, Doctor Mengele would inspect the children. Doctor Mengele was called “Uncle Mengele” by many of the kids. Everyday the children had blood drawn from them in large quantities from their necks. He would often make the children undress and lay next to each other for several hours so he could examine each and every one carefully. Many experiments were conducted on twins. Most experiments the children didn’t survive and was rare to have one twin alive. Doctor Mengele did lots of experiments on Jewish and Gypsy twins. Josef often dissected the twins into pieces while they were alive without medicine. Mengele wanted the Aryan birthrate to increase, so this is why he desired to understand the twins so he could produce more “perfect” children. Some of Doctor Mengele’s experiments included sewing twins together. He also forced twins to have sex with other twins just so he could experiment on the embryos. Doctor Mengele was obsessed with twins trying to make the master race Hitler
Josef Mengele was the oldest of three sons born to Karl and Walburga Mengele in the village of Gunzburg. Karl was a local industrialist who owned a plant that manufactured farming equipment. He was known as a stern but fair employer and a hard worker. It was his wife Walburga, however, whom his employees feared the most. A big woman with a terrible temper, she was often known to walk the floor of her husband's factory and publicly tell off employees for being lazy and poor workmanship. Warnings were hurriedly passed down the production line whenever Walburga was seen walking towards the factory, and workers purposely avoided her to get away from her wicked temper. Walburga ruled her home with an equal amount of
The Holocaust is arguably one of the biggest genocide in world history when between five and six million Jews were killed. Most were killed by gas or by firing squad or by simply being burned. But some of the Jews were victims of the doctors during the Holocaust. One of the most famous doctors during this time was Dr. Mengele, he was responsible for most of the deaths caused by experiments during the time. His career began at the Institute for Hereditary Biology and Racial Hygiene in Frankfurt, where he became the assistant of Dr. Otmar von Verschuer, a leading scientific figure widely known for his research with twins. In 1947 he joined the Nazi party and the next year he joined the SS. He wasn't the only doctor during the time though there
Joseph Mengele was completely obsessed with twins and genetics, and as a result sacrificed thousands for research and knowledge. He also wanted to learn more about them so he could produce the “perfect” children to create the new Aryan/German race. Mengele assumed that if he could solve the mystery of multiple births, he could apply it to the new generation and they would multiply, dominate, and take over the world, making the German race superior to all. Mengele also hoped to use his research to earn a degree required to teach at German
The experiments that mengele performed were horrifying. Even if they were not as famous as the main experiments he did they still were brutal. Experiments involved injections of lethal germs like chloroform causing instant death, sex change operations, human bodies sewn to another human body to create siamese twins, removal of organs and limbs, and blood
Adolf Hitler was the mastermind behind wanting to kill all of the Jews. Later on, Hitler even persecuted people outside of the Jewish religion. There was forced labor, or you would be sentenced to death. If you were a child, a pregnant woman, or a senior, you would be put to death right away. A Nazi, Josef Mengele, performed many experiments on people. To study the human eye color, he injected serum into the eyeballs of dozens of children, causing them excruciating pain. He also injected chloroform into the heart of twins, to determine if both siblings would die at the same time and in the same manner. There were also subdivision camps called Auschwitz ll and Auschwitz lll. Altogether, the camps held
One experiment was the freezing experiment where victims were put into a tank of ice water for 3 hours and rewarmed. Others were put outside, naked, in below freezing temperatures. Another experiment was the Mustard Gas experiment. It was to find out the most effective healing treatment for Mustard Gas wounds. Some victims died, while others suffered severe pain and injury. Lastly Mengele conducted a ton of experiments with poison. This is where people would get poison slipped into their next meal, dying as a result of the poison. The others were shot with poison bullets and tortured. The Nazi’s didn’t just kill off Jews, they killed Jehovah's Witnesses, Homosexuals, social democrats, communists ,partisans, trade unionists, and the polish. The least amount of Jews killed was 760 in Norway. The highest amount was in Poland and U S S R with 4.5million (Josef Mengele and The Medical
On March 16, 1911 in a suburban town of Gunsburg, Germany, Karl and Walburga Mengele gave birth to one of three children named Josef Mengele (“Josef Mengele”). Josef grew up with the nickname Beppo, meaning handsome (Lynott). His life changed dramatically
I bet when we were kidś sitting by a campfire, have you ever thought of a scary story to say to folks, well here's one that will blow your mind? This story is about hate, guilt and just messed up. Josef Mengele was one of those people that looked innocent, he was not. He did some terrible things.
Dr. Josef Mengele was a highly unpopular Nazi doctor who performed many horrific operations which put many men, women and children to rest. He was a cruel man and he was fascinated with twins, yet with all the sickening experiments he escaped prosecution.
Mengele performed insane experiments on those who deserved them the least. His view on the human race has confused many. He loved twins, yet killed them for joy. He thought there was such thing as a “perfect race”, but killed the very people he admired. No one was safe around this medical monster. Josef Mengele’s work with concentration camp prisoners influenced the profession of science, the medical world and more with his many grim experiments. They brought light on unanswered
In 1911, Karl and Walburga delivered a baby boy, Josef Mengele, in Gunzburg, Germany. While studying medicine and anthropology, he developed an interest in genetics. His experimental ideas sprouted from these interests. Mengele made his presence known at the camps he
Josef Mengele was the eldest son of Karl and Walburga Mengele of Günzburg, Bavaria. Karl Mengele ran a machine tools factory and often put his
Between the years 1939 and 1945 over seven thousands medical experiments, being both cruel and or lethal took place. These victims would include jews, political prisoners, soviet union prisoners, homosexuals and catholic priests. One of these doctors were Joseph Mengele. It is said that Mengele believed that prisoners were not human and on many occasions, murdered the prisoners either but a gunshot or a lethal injection. Mengele studied the prisoners in many areas. One of which was his curiosity to change the eye color, only to result in pain and infection. Mengele was also experimenting on prisoners that were dwarves and twins. All of the prisoners he experimented on suffered from mass amount of pain. At the end of World War II, Mengele became
Josef Mengele was born on March 16, 1911. In his early years, Mengele was intelligent and popular in his hometown. He studied medicine and philosophy at the University of Munich (Compton’s by Britannica). Mengele joined a right-wing, nationalistic organization. He was an early Nazi enthusiast, and enlisted with the SA in 1933. In January 1937, at the University of Frankfurt, he became the assistant to Dr. von Verschuer (Compton’s by Britannica).
Dr. Josef Mengele also known as the angel of death was the cruelest Nazi doctor(M.B. 1). During select where Jewish people were determined to be gassed or used for labor many doctors would have to get drunk, Mengele could do it sober, and he even covered shifts he wasn’t assigned to. Why doctor Mengele performed random, crucifying experiments? He thought he was helping science by performing these experiments. It is important to know for everybody so they know hopefully none of the modern doctors are performing these experiments.
