Drake's new album called “Views” extremely caught my attention. This album had numerous exceptional songs that I could easily relate to. I connected to this album better than some of his other albums that were produced such as “So Far Gone” and “Room For Improvement” because this album had more diversity. For instance, in this album, he put a lot of his thoughts into it but he also put logic. “Views” was the fourth studio album by Drake and was also supported by five billboard singles: "Hotline Bling", "One Dance", "Pop Style", "Controlla" and "Too Good", which are some of my favorite tracks from this album. I absolutely love this album because it shows the struggles that Drake has faced emotionally and it gives us the ability to connect to …show more content…
For example, the album “Views” is much longer than his other albums, on this album he has 20 tracks, which is approximately 82 minutes. Also, it is a very diverse album, each track has a different message that he is trying to convey. For example, in the track “Keep The Family Close” it basically talks about how friends’ that he did have aren't his friends anymore, which is why he feels he needs his family because he can’t depend on his friends anymore. Another example from this album is the track “Redemption.” This track is about how Drake is searching for the right words to say to an ex. These songs are only a few of the tracks on that album that displays his countless emotions. This album is really about how his emotions are playing a big role in his life and the decisions he is making, which I feel most of the people can absolutely relate to. For instance, in his song “Weston Road Flows” he shows how his emotion made him make a decision. He states “Just have some patience with me, You wouldn't tell me you loved me, started seein' Monique”, which shows that because the girl at the time didn't love him he moved on. Ultimately, this album is about how Drakes emotions and choices affect his life either for the better or for the …show more content…
It is worth it because the content is relatable and it is not just random words that are put together with a cool beat. It has a deeper meaning, for example, Drake has many emotions that are mixed into this album, such as regret, sadness, and it is mostly about his past. In addition, this album shows Drakes vulnerable side. Often times we think that celebrities have it easier than us because they basically have everything they can ask for and if they don't they can just buy their way into it. However, this album shows that even though he is a celebrity and can have anyone or anything he wants, he still hurts just like the rest of us, he is not untouchable. This is why I genuinely admire this album because it is raw and honest. He shows all of his flaws and does not pretend to be perfect, which many celebrities do. All in all, I believe that this album is excellent because it is a reminder to everyone that no matter if someone is rich or poor they all go through emotions and
“Pip pip da doodley doo” (Drake Parker). In Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh, two teenagers with opposite personalities must learn to live under the same roof. Drake is a cool, good looking, slightly daft, guitar playing, ladies man who plays by his own rules while Josh is the dorky, clumsy, responsible one. The two must learn how to get along when Drake’s mom falls in love with and marries Josh’s dad in the first episode. The rest of the series consists of the duo’s wacky misadventures. Meanwhile, Drake’s mischievous little sister, Maegan, plays pranks on the two in a constant attempt to make their lives miserable. The genre of the show is situational comedy (sitcom) and its target audiences are preteens and younger
The only half decent track is the opening track, Keep the Family close, having a simple melody to it, having drake express his feelings of knowing who to trust. It gives off that emotional vibe drake had in “Take Care.” It still features some struggle bars, such as_____, giving a sneak peak to the rest of the disaster.
Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto, Ontario to the parents of Sandi Graham and Dennis Graham. Drake’s father is from Memphis, Tennessee, and Drake’s mother is a white Jewish Canadian. His parents divorced when he was only five years old. Looking back on his early life, Drake had lived two different lives because of his parents' separation; he lived in a very upper-class part of Toronto, and, when in Memphis, was told he was "the furthest thing from hood." He witnessed many life-changing experiences because of the shocking event.
To their surprise, Drake won't budge. I personal like this song, because most people in the world will look you right in your face and smile but inside they're the people who don't want you to succeed in life. Then we've the people that will tell you, you'll never be nobody. But you as a person you can't let people stop you from succeeding in life, and once you've met your goal, you've to prove them wrong that tried to bring you down, and didn't believe in you that you're somebody, and you can do anything that you set your mind to do. Nobody can stop you from doing what you want to do. This song is basically proving people wrong and that's why I personally like this
In addition to signing with the biggest record label, the artist has since released three albums. Unique in their own ways, they all have different stories they tell. Comparatively, each elaborate on life, love, happiness and struggles. Together with other well known artists, helps grow album popularity. Equally important, collaborating together with Drake creates big names for artists themselves. Not only has every album progressed for the singer and songwriter, fans
The best way to get a four spot on the Billboard Hot 100, is by rapping about something everyone will go through, a heartbreak. That is what Kanye West did in “Heartless,” a song about a heartbreak he went through with former fiancee Alexis Phifer. The song debuted as a single but was later put on his 808s & Heartbreaks album. The song explains nearly everything about his relationship. They both made mistakes, but she’d act as if hers were minor. That is why he states, “I’m gonna take of tonight.” He emphasizes the word tonight, to prove he is exhausted and wants to be taken seriously. But he then argues himself by asking why they always end up late night on the phone. Which proves who is the intended audience. Simply, anyone that has gone through something similar, sometimes ends up on the phone with them late night with remorse. West’s tone in is angry in this song. He was tired of his ex-fiancee, who left him at his lowest point. When his mother had passed away just months before he was finished working on this album. Both of the women that he loved the most have left his life, in an instant. Kanye just began working on his music as a way to overlook the trials set ahead of him. He released this song and it was only the second time he used auto tune. Apparently auto tune can get you a 5x platinum record, mind that’s five million sales.
Did you know that a very famous rapper came from a broken home? Drake knows exactly what it is like. Drake is a very talented songwriter. In his songs he writes about his personal life. Drake has a rare lifestyle from a very early age to now having a busy career. He loves what he does, so he loves every moment he is either on stage or helping others.
Music is a very good thing for people because it can sometimes calm a person down and make them feel happy. Music is a good way to express one’s feelings in a positive way. Sometimes people use it for good reasons and sometimes bad reasons. I chose to write about the song “Hotline Bling” by Drake for my project. I think this song shows the emotion of sadness and depression.
Albums: Thank Me Later, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, and If You're Reading This Its Too Late
The main criteria Cowie bases his judgement of the album on is the details Lamar used. He gives an example of Lamar’s descriptive skills by explaining the song “The Art of Peer Pressure” where Lamar gives you a glimpse of his world describing the street corners and his state of mind at the time. Cowie explains how “Poetic Justice” begins seductive but the underlying message is the confrontation Lamar faces. Lamar expresses inner moral conflict towards his battle with peer pressure and alcoholism. Cowie also base his judgement on skits. He says Lamar’s storytelling is with voicemails and cassette
Dedicated to his wife Kim Kardashian. Ye takes us into his marriage. Kim is often under severe judgement from everyone especially Hip-Hop and Black culture but "wouldn't leave" humanizes her and their relationship, it also is Kanye taking ownership of how his actions whether good or bad are a direct reflection on those around him especially his wife. "Now I'm on fifty blogs getting' fifty calls/ My wife calling', screamin', say, "We about to lose it all!"/ Had to calm her down 'cause she couldn't breathe/ Told her she could leave me now, but she wouldn't leave" referencing his slavery is a choice comments on TMZ. The outro with Ty Dolla $ign on vocals is my favorite moment its a moment of ownership and appreciation, "Now you testing her loyalty/This is what they mean when they say "For better or for worse", huh?/For every down female that stuck with they dude through the best times, through the
Drake’s song “Too Good” is, in many ways an amazing work of art. Two amazing artists- Drake and Rhianna- sing this song. While listening to a song there are a few criteria’s that should be followed and those are: rhythm, meaning, and voice, in which all are met in this song.
This source is a verse in the song ‘hotline bling’ by drake. Drakes main points of this song was him singing about how his women was being unfaithful. Throughout this verse drake talks provocatively and down on women, stating that that his girl is ‘bending over backwards for someone else’. While many people would say that this is ok as it has been normalised in this society, there is micro and macro issues to these lyrics that many people leave unrecognised. There are many concerns in this song at a macro level in the fact that drake’s lyrics are a small portion of what shapes society’s norm.
All of the songs on this album relay different messages to listeners. Most songs contain a lot of pathos, call to action and more. Pathos is really prominent in certain songs such as Sorry, Formation, and Freedom. An excerpt from Sorry says: “Now you want to say you 're sorry/Now you want to call me crying/Now you gotta see me wildin '/Now I 'm the one that 's lying/And I don 't feel bad about it/It 's exactly what you get.” This displays the emotions after getting out of a relationship or during the struggles of it. Other lyrics from this song that display this
“Keep The Family Close” is the first song on Drake’s newly released album labeled “Views”. This song brings so much meaning to the word “Betrayal” in so many ways that it is limitless which is a main a reason I adored the song. Drake, on the other hand, is my favorite musical artists to date and will always be. Drake’s music gives meaning and tells a story to connect with listeners which why I listen to all of his songs.
