There are many ways to drive out hate. Quite frankly, the possible paths one may take are uncountable. But there are two main ways to categorize the strategies of eradicating the hate in life. Good and bad. Light and dark. Bright and shadow. In reality, humans need all of these qualities to add color to life. But the way that humanity can choose to demolish evil is something that most people are oblivious to. I have tried to drive out hate in my life in many ways. No individual can remain pure for all of their lives; that is a goal that is impossible for anyone to achieve. But it is a goal nonetheless. I cannot say that I have stayed perfect for my life, as that is an untruth. But, there have been times where life seemed unfair. …show more content…
An acquaintance of mine (we weren’t very close friends) waved my friend over. She looked my friend in the eye and said, “Hi, Jana awesome girl”. And she looked me, directly in the eye, a slight smirk on her face, and said, “Hi, Maya Japanese weird girl”. Those words may not seem like much, but I could tell by the bitter sound of her words that she was experiencing hate, whether it was at her house or somewhere else in the school. But hate should never be an excuse to hate others. Discrimination is also not acceptable, no matter where the situation is taking place. But I sat down, just like I always did. I placed on a mask of courage, though it was tough, and told the girl that that was wrong. I tried not to make her feel “sad”. But there is never a reason to cause others hate, even if one may be a victim of hate elsewhere. When one ponders the thought of hate, there are more layers to it than the four letters it takes up on the page. There are many other good four-letter words. Love. Hope. Give. Kind. But when you string the four letters it takes to write hate, a whole new mood consumes the …show more content…
When one hates another, that person may spread it onto the next, and the next, and the next until all that is left is a burnt cinder of mistrust. Once hate escapes the mouth, it can evolve into a much larger shadow, which could diminish any possibility of faith. When one ventures to the story that I wrote, they may say, “Oh. That’s nothing. I go through things much tougher than that.” I agree. I cannot say that I am the largest victim of hate, as that is not true. But in this era, hate may be more common than you may think. Social media is an example of hate. With one post, a friendship’s bridge could be burnt. With twenty-six characters, one may ruin their chance at a lifetime goal. People in this age of time take hate less seriously. It is a term that is tossed around like a frisbee in the summer. “I hate you.” And when one truly examines the construction of hate, it is easy to get rid of
Although a society based on hate can survive, it is highly unlikely. In 1984, by George Orwell, the party kept the people under full control by brainwashing them. This is not realistic because in today’s world someone, whether it be another government or the people living in this society, would end it. People of today have been taught that they have rights and if those rights are taken away, something isn’t right. There are many examples on why a society could not thrive purely on hatred, some of which are present in 1984, The Lives of Others, and the real world.
In the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used about his father. “I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real life, was in danger, and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred I carried in my own heart.” (72) This hatred he talks about exists towards his father. Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told.
In this world hate means many different things. For some people hate may mean the emotion they feel against their country for all the deaths and disparities that the war torn country has caused them. For others the word could mean that the teen is going through a phase and may “hate” their parents for not getting them the a in style piece of clothing or a resplendent new phone. But in the 1300’s there was a whole different rationale of the word “hate”.
Hatred, abuse, social injustice, and general dislike of an individual or group will never be controlled or extinguished through any means of education or political mandate. These terrible practices are part of the human frailty of life, and can be found among every ethnicity and culture. While it should never be condoned, it cannot be eradicated.
If one hates someone or something that means they have an intense dislike towards them. Sometimes this hate can be so large it can be an influence for mass destruction. We have learned, or even have seen examples of hate turning into something bigger throughout our history. These examples include the multiple wars, terrorist’s attacks, and genocides. Many of these incidents were drove by hate, and did not end well. What drives this hate? How can people turn on one another with just feeling hate towards them? The Holocaust being one of the many genocides in our history was indeed influenced by an intense dislike. That intense dislike was towards certain types of people it ended up taking multiple lives.
Hate can be a such a powerful word. “Hate has endurance capability in what it may inspire the human sprite to suffer and to sustain” (Thurman). Children do not know what hate is. It is through their innocence that they must personally learn it from someone. People thrive from hate; it is
The Anti-Defamation League created the Pyramid to show youth how to examine the escalating nature of hate by means of analyzing its causes and knowing that it is possible to gradually minimize its detrimental power. Once the root from where hate sprouts from is uncovered, then concepts demonstrated in the Pyramid of Hate are understood and then, unjust actions seen around the world can be limited and lives can be protected. Given these points, it is inevitable that Hate would reinforce savagery, thus resulting in traumatizing deaths and ultimately, is the cause of the loss of innocence. Once hatred fills the heart, it eats away at inherent humanity. Therefore, when facing hatred, we must ask ourselves: where is love?
“It is the law of love that rules mankind. Had violence, hate ruled us we should have become extinct long ago. And yet the tragedy of it is that so-called civilized man and nations conduct themselves as if the basis of society was violence,”(Gandhi). In this quote Gandhi says the main reasons of love and hate are mankind. As well that both control and destroy a human. However, in the end the human chooses the one they will follow. In the outstanding novel Kindred by Octavia Butler. The protagonist, Dana, faces many love and hate situations as she travels back and forth in time. Accordingly, she begins to question whom is to blame for the love and hate crimes. Love and hate are influenced by mankind, both can be controlled and the pair are conscious decisions.
In the books we read this year hatred was a big topic in those stories. It defines who people are as characters and brings out their personalities. In the stories we read; True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, To Kill a Mockingbird, Holocaust Unit and Merchant of Venice I had a hate or disliking to almost one character in each book. In the Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian there were a few different examples of hate.
It eats you from the inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves" (141). When we spend our lives hating someone else, whether it be an old friend, or a family member that hurt us, we end up miserable.
Why do people that hate each other so much work better together than people who love each other? People who love each other never get the job done it seems, but people that hate each other get the job done fast and efficiently, have you ever wondered why? You may say maybe they get it done so fast just to get it over with so they don’t have to work side by side anymore, but maybe it might be because they take their work seriously and rather work together side by side rather than do it alone and fail. In George Orwell’s Novel 1984 the society they live in is based on hate yet it survives because they hate their ruler so much they end up confusing it with love and they become loyal under Big Brother's watchful eyes, fighting to please him and continue with his bidding. If any one person in the society is to express their hate for him they are sent to a place like a prison or more like a reform center to learn to disguise their hatred again by basically confusing the people into thinking they love him they manipulate their minds and they create a loyal subject once again, this is why I believe a society based on hate can survive because can easily be confused for love and hate can make a loyal person besides their negative feelings for the society.
“Love always overcomes hate, but love’s effects and hate’s effects are no different in magnitude.” -Anonymous. No one ever doubts the power of love or the power of hate. For as long as time has existed people have loved and people have hated. Strong emotions persuade everyone to act on their inhibition. Everyone wants to be a hero in every situation whether it be trying to save someone or the simple act of finding a winning lottery ticket. These actions are what lead to love overcoming hate even if they are the simplest of acts. The mistake people make is them trying to hard to be the hero. This leads to one traveling great lengths to achieve their goals, but at what cost. Throughout Shakespeare’s most famous play, Romeo and Juliet, his main
I personally don't think that we can completely stop hate because there is always someone who is going to judge people because of certain things they do differently but I think we can stop most of it by showing them that all people are equal and you should not think someone is better than the others simply because their skin color, religion ,or thing they do
There is no point in hating thy enemy. Hatred and anger towards someone else can have a long lasting emotional and psychological effect. The hatred and anger goes beyond just hating and having anger towards that individual that hurt you. This emotion begins to spread and discharge toxic. The toxic takes over your life. You now begin to have hatred towards others; innocent others. You begin to create damage to one’s self and one’s life. The world is no longer the same. You allowed yourself to become trapped, and you will stay trapped. You will stay trapped because you chose not to forgive.
Love and hate are both very powerful emotions. The abundance one can feel inside when feeling them can be overwhelming at times. I think everyone can relate to the feeling when you love someone so much you would do anything and everything for them. We can also understand that feeling when you can’t even stand the thought of someone being in the same room of you. When we look at what emotion is more powerful, I think hate is stronger than love. The reason being is that love can quickly turn to hate, but hate doesn’t change to love very fast, if at all. I think Othello is a great example of this. His love for his wife, turned to hate so fast because he thought she was cheating on him. He murdered his wife in pure cold blood which shows how hate can be such a powerful emotion that it can actually cause someone to want to commit murder. The feeling of love and hate can change someone, and they both can be very powerful. However, I think that hate is an emotion unlike no other in which the feeling is very stable, in the since that it is very hard to change someone’s mind about you when they hate you.
