Things To Look Into When Considering A Driveway Expansion When your teens start to drive and get their own cars, you may experience a shortage of parking spaces, especially when you have guests over. The solution could be to expand your current driveway or add a circular drive to provide more parking and make it easier to maneuver cars. Here are a few things to consider about installing a driveway expansion. Check Local Codes There may be codes that regulate the placement of your new driveway, especially if you install a circular dive. Even if city codes don't come into play, there may be HOA rules or deed restrictions that affect your driveway. For instance, if your driveway is currently made of asphalt, you may be required to use asphalt …show more content…
This could affect the appearance of your property in a negative way. Even if your driveway is still fairly new, it will be faded somewhat due to UV exposure and the difference will be noticeable when it is against new asphalt. There are some options to consider. You could have a new layer of asphalt put on over your old driveway to make the color uniform throughout or you would have your driveway sealed. You can't seal a new driveway when it is applied since it needs to cure. When it's ready, you could have a sealcoat applied over your entire driveway that makes the color uniform. However, you'll need to go for a period of several weeks or months with the color difference while you wait. When you're considering a driveway expansion, talk to a paving contractor about these and any other concerns you have. The contractor will offer advice for the best placement of the expansion taking drainage, tree roots, and city codes into account. Even a small expansion of just a few feet has to be installed just like a regular driveway with a compacted base or it could cause your current driveway to deteriorate faster. It may seem like a complicated process for the simple act of making your driveway wider, but it is worth it to have the extra parking spaces when your family owns several

The addition of 44 houses will roughly add another 88 cars to the traffic flow of the area. With the additional cars added to the small road an emergency could end up being fatal if people could not go and come quickly, which could also then force another road to be built. With more traffic close to two schools there is also a greater risk of children getting hit by cars crossing streets and roads.
Including the roadway will make it more efficient for boaters to get their boat in the water and so that kayakers and paddle boarders don't have to lug their heavy and awkward shaped craft a couple hundred feet anymore. To use the launch and slips, a permit is needed which will be granted from the town. This fixture will be a convenience and will be a much nicer upgrade to the “kayak launch” at the wharf now.
Good morning fellow students I am the head of construction and I will be talking about the Wynnem road upgrades. This is going to be effecting a vast amount of people all across Brisbane. This means the government will be buying and demolishing homes as soon as they come on sale. I strongly believe that the widening of Wynnem road should go ahead. The barricades have been put on and the plans have been reveled after first thought of upgrading in 2011. It is due to complete in 2020. The upgrade will provide interim measures to improve traffic efficiency and safety along Wynnum Road between Canning Bridge and Riding Road in Norman park.
When entering from Washington Street the new dock will remain in its current location, resulting in less of an inconvenience for everyone. The current parking lot to the left will be used as a staging area as well as a construction area. Parking will be limited to the main parking lot on the right and along Washington Street.
Stay Off Your Driveway: The key is to stay off your driveway for a couple of days after the asphalt has been applied. You should not walk on your driveway nor should you allow anyone else to walk on your driveway. You should also keep all your vehicles off your driveway as well. This will allow your asphalt time to dry and settle.
As you can imagine, this is the most expensive option. The contractor has to break up the old asphalt and haul it off, which adds to the expense. This option is usually necessary when there is damage to the bed underneath the asphalt. If the soil has shifted, cracks will keep coming back until the bed is built back up. You may not realize it, but your driveway is a lot more than just the layer of asphalt you drive on. There is a bed of compacted soil and aggregate underneath it that has to bear the weight of your vehicles. If problems arise with the soil due to age or erosion, your contractor will probably suggest tearing out the asphalt and putting in a new driveway.
Since your driveway is one of the first things people see when driving up to your house, you want to keep it looking as nice as possible. If you neglect your driveway, it will develop cracks, stains, and potholes that get worse over time. It's best to make repairs when the damage is in the early stages. Also, you should consider sealcoating the asphalt every few years to protect it from damage and to restore its dark color. You can hire a contractor to apply the sealcoat, but if your driveway is short and in good shape, you may be able to do the job yourself. Here's what the process entails.

The lot needs to be swept and cleaned. This can be done with a sweeper truck that gets rid of rocks and sand that might keep the new layer from bonding. Then the contractor makes any repairs that are necessary such as installing new drains or leveling sunken areas. Potholes and cracks will be filled automatically as the new asphalt is applied, so the contractor won't have to spend time repairing these. Your lot may not need much repair work done, but if it does need to have the drainage or slope improved, this is a good time to do it.
Asphalt pavement provides superior curb appeal for all types of properties. Freshly applied asphalt has a luxurious black color that most people find more attractive than concrete. From the lane markers on highways to crosswalks, pavement markings are easier to see on asphalt than they are on concrete. Furthermore, should the color of asphalt pavement fade, it can typically be restored by having fresh sealcoating applied.
It is advisable to choose your tire changing place very carefully. You should drive slowly to the next exit ramp so that you can stay away from main flow of traffic as you change your tire. Sometimes the line separating the traffic from you is not an invisible force field. Sometimes the car is left leaning leaving insufficient room. In this case you will need a level solid surface in order to jack up a car safely.
